- Changing the front wheel bearing on 2003 Pontiac Montana.
Same as 1998-2005 Chevrolet Venture, Oldsmobile Silhouette, Pontiac Grand Prix, Pontiac Transport, Buick Regal and many others.
Hope it helps!
You really helped me along thank you so much . I beleave I can do it
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching!
Great! Vid! Dude! Thanks for sharing! 👍🏻👍🏻
No problem!! Thank you!!
Good job buddy
Why are you using such a small ratchet to take those out? Be a lot better with a half inch drive ratchet and a lot longer one for more leverage
Because I had replaced this one previously I knew it would come out without much of a fight. And in certain areas the bigger ratchet doesn’t fit so good.
Thanks for watching!
Helpful! Thanks!
No problem! Happy to help!
So was the wiggle from a bad tie rod? But the wiggle looked from top to bottom?
I’m assuming it was a combination of wheel bearing and outer tie rod. The inner was actually still good. Thanks!
I am doing this job right now and the cv shaft is stuck in the hub. Doesn't look like it will come out with torch and banging, puller etc. Tried them all. I am taking the cv shaft and hub assembly out together and bringing to a shop to see if they can press it out.
I’ve had that happen once before and was lucky enough to have a parts van to steel the knuckle and cv shaft from.
I let the original soak with penetrating fluid and transmission fluid for weeks and it never came apart.
Hopefully they can press it out for you!
@@xlr8ing_zgarage I had to go buy a steering knuckle and cv shaft from junk yard. Only costed 100 bucks. The knuckle came with good hub/bearing so i didn’t bother switching with the new wheel bearing i had. It can be spare. Thank you for the video.
@@Faruk651 no problem! Thanks for watching!!
I had a Corolla that had wheel bearings replaced and then replaced under warranty twice. Might’ve continued except it got picked up by an EF4 tornado and crushed under a tree.
Wow! That’s terrible! Thankfully it wasn’t any worse! Thanks for watching!
@@xlr8ing_zgarage Oh, it was a lot worse… still displaced/homeless and my mother is losing her home too with no place to go (landlord of 43 years selling the neighborhood to developers) …but I figured I’d limit the scope to our shared experience with premature bearing failure. ;)
Shop kept saying they were upgrading my quality each time they failed. They went from failed original to theirs, then to “premium,” and the last ones were supposedly after they switched again to “OEM quality” after expressing obviously-justified concerns with the previous brand…but they still never used genuine Toyota OEM bearings like I wanted. I actually feel bad for them because these can’t be swapped with a wheel hub on a 2011 Corolla and have to be hammered out/pressed in. That’s why I spent so much to have them do it! ;)
After several months with no transportation my friend gave me his Pontiac Montana, which needed a lot of work… ultimately leading me here. Thanks for the video!
Is it from a lordco?? Same wheel same van!!
No not from Lordco. But thanks for watching!
