Press handstand was for me the most important key factor for achieving airflares, you can even say that airflares are continues rotating jumping press handstands, doesn't matter if you are landing or jumping - the press handstand plays a very big roll in airflares
Oh thats an interesting approach, I never heard or thought about that! My press to handstand is actually very bad! I learned Airflares way earlier than learning press to Handstand haha but I think it depends from the form you want to achieve
Dude I looove your tutorials!! You became my first source for bboy-tutorials. I am recommending you to other people a lot.. Really thankful for your content!
Nice tutorial 👍 i think it just all depends on each person. I am not really flexible but the higher are much easier for me and i can also learn how to control the legs and hips properly . I ve been trying the normal ones but you gotta be really strong for those which I am not 😁
I really like the part about which airflare is better for different body types / flexibility levels. Your content is always super good man! Don't stop! > I know you've done a few airflare tutorials but I think it would be suuuper helpful if you took someone (in person) that was struggling with airflare and helped correct them. Some of the drills that are suggested in a lot of airflare videos can end up being really hard for people that don't have airflare yet. Just an idea for a future vid! It would be something different that I haven't seen many people do. Peace!
Nice Tutorial! :) Maybe You could make an Updated 1990 tutorial? Everyone is mostly focusing on explaining Airflares, Flares, Windmills, Halos & Headspins nowadays, but so far I haven't seen a well detailed 1990 tutorial anywhere on RUclips... Like starting From very Beginning with some drills and paying attention to palm positions, moving into various Leg Figures (Drill/Turtle or Tuck/Stradlle/Egyptian or Swastika) and their uses? After a 1990 tutorial You Could try to make another tutorial with explaination of classic/basic 1990 powermove transitions - example, Flare-1990-Windmill; Swipe-1990-Windmill; Windmill-1990-Swipe etc.
This is how I learned when I had three but they were more angled and I didn't walk over so much. It really hurt my shoulder because I actually am not flexible though. And then when I tried to switch to a lower technique I destroyed my arm (I didn't really have internet back then, RUclips was in its first year). I ended up just doing ground power only after that
the leg movement is very similar to a handhop but with the legs wider (frog position with your legs), or if you want you can even keep your legs straight and try to bounce them like a handhop with wide and straight legs but it's a little bit harder to control
@@LuisFlores-rg1nr I would try to get like 3-5 one handed handhops on each side since in the airflare you need to jump off and land with one hand only.
Thanks a lot Kaio. Jumping 1990's is a good variant for B-Girls for example, but not for B-Boys, who wants to make classic, fast Powermoves, with strong kicks.
@@KaioFalcrow True. Especially kids B-Boys. They don't want to learn classic Airflares, cause it's very hard, as you know. Also may be other B-Boys around them don't pay attention to this, or that kids train alone.
@@KaioFalcrow That's why it is always very good, useful, when you train something, with masters. They can give you a very useful and valuable advices, so your progress will be much faster. I didn't have that guys, when I trained Airflares. I didn't had even simple B-Boys around, there was only 2-3 dancers in gymhall. Big number of colleagues will also give you high energy, for this so difficult move.
legs flexibility is not so important for this technique.. can you do Windmill to Swipes? Windmill to Elbowtrack? Windmill to Flare without using the freeze? These transitions will help you :)
yes i can do that all, but when i push it from windmill to the airflare it just like a jumping flare from the right arm to the left, so hard to go up 45°
@@nizarkun956 okay I understand, so you need to learn how to push yourself higher.. I recommend you watching the Bruce Almighty windmill to 1990 tutorial and use this technique, is kinda like doing a shoulder freeze to handstand, practicing slowly and then increasing the speed gradually
@@KaioFalcrow I see, thanks. I got the rest down, handstand, walking on hands, handhops on both sides and I'm practicing air flares already but I maybe I need to improve my windmill. Thank you for the good videos:)
@@winstonsearchill3457 yes learning windmills will surely help the legs movement :) there are bboys who can do airflares but not windmills but its pretty rare
bboys dont realize that ifu want to do combos u need to have good vertical airflare and its very important. even pocket says he always does vertical airflare and he never opens his hands even tho it looks like he does. also 0:52 i completely disagree this Kaio u can learn it if u will put enough work ;)
Yes :) I didn’t say ‘it’s not possible’, but ‘it’s hard’ :) I have seen that it is hard for so many bboys with unflexible shoulders.. of course they can still learn it but as you said they have to put the work in
Thanks for the info :) personally I also don’t like it so much, but could be a very good method to learn Airflares for someone, watch bboy Seita and bboy Faisi airflares as reference :)
@@KaioFalcrow yeah man, i know lots of people learn like this like Battle Droids and also i know Bruce Almighty teach like that. but for me its kind of waste of time cause you dont get the proper form or power. you can see bboys like Faisi who now has good airflares but some guys from BD still makes these and it looks weird to me ;D
@@bboyying oh yes, I should have mention that, however the legs movement is the same as the Windmill or like a regular Airflare, it can be performed in different ways, bending your legs and pushing like handhops, or swinging the legs more.. can be done in different ways, but the best one to get control in my opinion is the "frog / squat position"
