    My pby Catalina had the same issue with motor shafts. I sorted through the prop nuts and found the one that ran the closest to true. I also put nyloc prop nuts on with the nyloc side towards the motor and ran them down until it was out of threads. It puts the prop closer to the cowl for a more scale look and took most of the wobble out.

      Thanks for the tip. I may try that. I was also thinking about cutting it off and attaching a compression collet. That is one tiny shaft though.

    So im scared to but it because I don’t know how to fix it with all those problems you mentioned

    LOL, yup, tweaks! One of my tweaks with those pushrods and flex is small zipties with a small loose loop and cut the remaining length at angle piercing the EPO and just a touch of foamtac to anchor it. Works great, and quick.

    I hope they fix the issues that you uncovered. I am sure that less experienced builders will see and fix the functional problems. I was not as impressed with this plane as I was with the bipe. Seemed more "finished " and more thought out.
    See you at the field in morning.

      I have some sort of attraction to the C-47 I can't explain. I built a GWS EPS foam version with the Miss Virginia livery scheme on it and sold it to one of the club guys.
      I'm glad I have another one in the hangar again.

    Good review. Just wondering if you have maiden this plane yet? Thanks.

      Yes I have. I had some sort of technical issue with the footage and wound up putting some of the flight footage on a subsequent video.
      Bottom line: It flies fine. It's what you'd expect. Good scale flier, not athletic in terms of maneuvering but it's fun to fly slow and low.

    im looking to make this plane from scratch for my history class. What material do you think i should use? (i'm not necessarily looking for it to fly). it would just be a model.

      Most model builders use balsa for planes in this scale.

    On the wire cover I just use clear packing tap.

    • @RCVideoReviews
      @RCVideoReviews  4 года назад

      Yup, I use colored packing tape on EPO planes quite a bit. I may just seal the ends with tape and call it a day. The middle section seems to stay fixed pretty well.
      What are your impressions on flying this plane?

      @@RCVideoReviews have not had a chance to. Went to go once or twice but it was to windy for a newb like myself.

      @@ShadowOppsRC I flew the C-47 today in a strong wind. It gave me everything I could handle. Probably smart to wait for a calm day if you're unsure.

      @@RCVideoReviews was she a handful?

    • @RCVideoReviews
      @RCVideoReviews  4 года назад +1

      @@ShadowOppsRC The wind was strong and as I predicted in the build review, it's not overpowered. So between the two, it took some focus. Wind gusts push those big boat oar wings around quite a bit.
      I want to fly it on a calm day...

    Is there any way to make the top hatch fit better?

    • @RCVideoReviews
      @RCVideoReviews  4 года назад

      endrot1 Maybe stronger and more magnets. Honestly, I believe the more it’s fiddled with, the more risk of making the gap more obvious. You might be able to get away with some decals like a squadron name or even your sUAS registration number.
      The black sharpie does a pretty good job of masking the cut line.
