Nickelodeon is probably in the corner crying because they didn't pick up Ed Edd n Eddy, The Proud Family, Phineas and Ferb, and Adventure Time. This woman is to blame for most of those not getting picked up.

    • @Dunston24
      @Dunston24 6 лет назад +88

Alberto Productions Gets especially worse seeing that shows that she did pick up instead of these shows. Then again some of these shows might have been extremely different or might not have lasted as long so at the same time it’s a minor blessing.
Kinda hilarious at the same time since she basically helped CN and Disney by giving them some of those shows basically when they rejected them

    • @APPictures9
      @APPictures9 6 лет назад +53

Well, thanks to Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network became great again with Adventure Time (along with Regular Show) after a long slump where they mainly aired Canadian cartoons and live-action shows (on *CARTOON* Network).
As for Disney, Phineas and Ferb was a good show, but it doesn't help Disney Channel that much since they mostly air cheesy live action sitcoms. They even moved their animated series to Disney XD, where they died a slow and painful death. Watch Saberspark's video "What Ruined Disney Channel" to know more.

    • @impossibleprincess49

Personally, I think that her rejecting Adventure time and Phineas & Ferb is a blessing in disguise. Let's face it. If those shows made it on Nickelodeon they would've lasted for like 2 seasons.

It’s funny when you think about it. Her awful leadership and actions saved Disney Channel and Cartoon Network. Nick turned down Phineas and Ferb and Adventure Time which became Disney’s and CN’s most successful shows ever and lead into the this amazing wave of animation we are experiencing. Cyma was better at running the competition than the company she actually worked for.

ADP1998 yeah, no. I’m stopping this before it turns into a huge thread arguing over the quality of Adventure Time. My comment was not about the quality of the show but the undeniable fact it is CN’s biggest show ever and played a huge part in getting the network where it is now in terms of the quality of their shows.

      1) Its too excessively weird for the sake of being weird that is the wrong way to make a cartoon. You should be weird for the sake of being funny and have normal people paired up with weird people to balance out the weirdness the Simpsons would not be as funny if Marge and Lisa weren't around to talk some sense into Homer and Bart Spongebob wouldn't work with out characters like Sandy Squidward or Karen Regular Show wouldn't be funny without Benson 2) its annoying 3) its creepy and sometimes disturbing 4) They over rely on weirdness instead of telling actual jokes 5) I can't stand any of the characters they are so unrelatable 4) The plots are often confusing and make no sense especially the later seasons(6 You can't escape it no matter how hard you try other cartoons try to be more like it. I can't stand those round ugly adventure time teeth (7 I hate the annoying made up slang I wish they would talk like real people (8 The best shows on the network are nothing like Adventure Time What Do Gumball, Teen Titans Go, We Bear Bears and Unikitty have in common they tell actual jokes, have slapstick, puns, and sometimes satire like a good cartoon should 9) Is so boring (10 I get filled with furry and rage when someone brings it up.

    • @icecreamhero2375

erin 36 Yep, they have skipped to ads after the theme song (for SpongeBob at least) for a few months now, it's really annoying, and I feel like that's one of the reasons the show's ratings have plummeted. Nobody wants to watch a premiere of a new episode if ads play right after the song instead if going straight to the title card/credits.

    • @tomo4977
      @tomo4977 6 лет назад +17

I look at the internet and I defitnely see how it isn't viable for most artists on here yet to do big projects of their dreams, compared to the Tv, movie and other media industries. But it just feels actually safer to produce content on the internet and be poor, even if you may be pushed into doing things that isnt your dream art. Because all I hear about in the animation industry is wage fixing, blackmail, abuse, sexual assault, paygaps for everyone, exploitation and other shady shit. And I know it can be all media, and there are some wonderful people, systems and businesses there, but it kinda just feels like playing Russian Roulette right now with what you get, and again I'd feel much more safer just making a business with my creative control even if I am poor in the process.

  • @Masterge77

Wow, and I thought Cartoon Network was bad, they have NOTHING on Nickelodeon. With Cyma Zarghimi and Dan Schneider gone, I feel the network will slowly get better, but it still has a LONG way to go before it can regain it's former glory. Either way, good riddance to her!
While I have no idea what the new CEO will do, here's 10 things I would do if I was the head of Nickelodeon:
    1. End Spongebob after the third movie. It will put closure to Cyma's era, and allow for a fresh start for the network. Reruns of Spongebob will continue to air, but will be phased out over the years in favor of newer shows, that way the yellow sponge goes out more peacefully rather than in vain.
    2. Hire new creators to pitch new pilots to the network. I would then hold a contest in which several of the pitched pilots are posted to the Nickelodeon website, and then have people vote on what their favorite pilot is, like Cartoon Network's Big Pick Weekend. The 3 winning shows will be greenlit. The creators of the shows that didn't get greenlit will be hired as writers on the shows that did get picked up, that way they get to keep their jobs and keep the new generation of creators and writers.
    3. Reduce the amount of live-action shows to the last 3 hours of the day, focus more on animation. Live-action won't be removed from the network, and two new live-action shows should be greenlit.
    4. Cancel any shows based on pre-existing properties, with the exception of Power Rangers. Let's go back to how the network was in the 90's in which original content was prioritized.
    5. Replace Nick at Nite with an adult-oriented block to rival Adult Swim. Have it start at 10 or 11 PM so the kids can't watch it.
    6. Get at least one action cartoon on the channel to add diversity to the network, and breathe life into the genre once more. Also it should be an original property and not based on a pre-existing franchise. If possible, re-hire Micah Wright and have the action show be Constant Payne, finally greenlit after 18 years.
    7. If Micah Wright doesn't want to return, give the rights to Constant Payne to him so he can do whatever he wants with it, like pitch it to Netflix or Disney. At the same time, give the rights to Making Fiends back to Amy Winfrey.
    8. Make at least two animated TV movies a year and one animated theatrical movie every other year or so. These can be based on Nickelodeon shows or they can be original films completely. Let's put Nick back on the big screen like it was in the past.
    9. Start a streaming service with a premium membership that will allow for new episodes to be viewed one week before they premiere.
    10. BRING BACK THE SLIME!!! The lively looking studio too, not that sterile look it has now.
Above all, I would focus on making Nickelodeon the #1 network for kids and families once more, since this was the WORST decade of the network's history.

      1. Spongebob is the mickey mouse of nick they would be fools to cancel it 2. Giving the creators jobs on the other creators shows isn't that good of an idea what if one writer isn't a good fit for the cartoons that win. Writters have to take a writting test to work on a show 3. That sounds bad i don't want to watch ripoff adult swim adult swim is trash The only good show they have are the FOX shows Also it will forever be seen as a ripoff and never escape Adult Swim's shadow 8. Thats a terrible idea a cartoon should get a movie just because it exists. Some tv shows wouldn't work well as a movie. people like 3d movies better than 2d movies

Probably a good thing that she’s leaving. The way she did things was horrendous. It was around the time she became president that Nickelodeon rapidly started to decline. The once cartoon powerhouse was reduced to Dan Schneider and Sponge Network. The advertising got worse. Reducing to memes and trendy garbage. Fanboy and Chum Chum, Breadwinners, Sanjay and Craig, Game Shakers, Grow Up Timmy Turner, an hour long Atlantis Squarpantis instead of eleven minutes, and many more mediocrities were green lit during her presidency. She handled things horribly and hopefully the next president can handle the network way way better.

Cyma made iCarly to cash in on Hannah Montana, Haunted Hathaways was a Wizards of Waverly Place clone, BTR cashed in on Jonas Brothers, Victorious is basically Shake it Up. Cyma was more focused on cashing in on Disney Channel shows rather than original content. I can list a few more examples. Spectacular being a cash in on High School Musical, Make it Pop a copy of Victorious(and cashing in on K Pop trends), Game Shakers a copy of iCarly to sell app games, Thundermans a copy on the Wizards of Waverly Place Formula mixed with cashing in on Superhero Trends the list goes on. Nick needs to stop making these kinds of shows. More cartoons and live action that are not trendy tween sitcoms is going to be essential to this channels survival.

    1. Cancel all current live-action shows and only greenlight goods ones (Kinda like
how Disney Channel has greenlit good live-action shows like Andi Mack)
    2. Bring back classics from the 2000s, like: Invader Zim, Jimmy Neutron, My Life as a
    Teenage Robot, and Danny Phantom
    3. Do a full reboot of Rugrats, with most of the VAs reprising their roles
    4. Bring back Hey Arnold and make it a continuation, yet have the feel of a reboot to
please fans, both old and new. Have it set after the events of The Jungle Movie.
Having Arnold's parents would really add a new dynamic and character
    development to the show.
    5. Greenlight Constant Payne, after 17 damn years!
    6. Greenlight the Nicktoons movie and give Ren & Stimpy, at least a 5 minute cameo
    appearance.
    7. Reopen Nickelodeon Studios and bring back a lot of game shows likes Double
Dare and Legends of the Hidden Temple.

This definitely sparks a lot of interesting debate about where Nick's future is headed. They've got plenty of revivals in the pipeline, two of their biggest creators, Butch Hartman and Dan Schneider are gone, the president Cyma is gone, and Viacom will be merging with CBS soon. Things at Nickelodeon are changing, hopefully for the better.
I just hope whoever Nickelodeon's next president is will be good. I know all this awful information about Cyma is going to split people up in terms of what they're going to do. I know some people are going to boycott Nickelodeon because they don't want to support them anymore. I know some people are only going to watch the shows they like to give them as little viewership as they can. I know some people aren't going to care about any of this and are going to keep watching Nickelodeon because they genuinely like their shows. And I think that's fine. There's no true right answer to this.
Personally, I'm gonna keep watching the stuff from Nick I like or I'm looking forward to like The Loud House, or the upcoming revivals of Double Dare, Static Cling and Invader Zim. I don't think there's a need to "boycott" Nick because Cyma is gone now, so there's really no point now, but that's just me. Regardless, I hope these changes at Nickelodeon will be for the better. And hopefully their next president will unblacklist Micah Wright and greenlight Constant Payne! But maybe that's just wishful thinking. Maybe that streaming service they're launching this fall and the merger with CBS will be a step in the right direction. We'll just have to wait and see.

Based on the fact that so many cartoons have been screwed over I beleive that Cyma has a mentality that cartoons are only for the 7 and below set and the Live Action shows are for the older audiences. in other words the mentality was there that "kids grow out of cartoons into live action trendy sitcoms". This mentality is because Cyma beleived that cartoons are only for little kids.

I don't know if it is late but this information has to do with both Disney and Nickelodeon. One of the comments on Sabersparks "What went wrong with Disney Channel" was from Martin R a person involved in a Disney animated Show.
Here is a summary of what he said
PRODUCTION TIME- Animating, and composting, and storyboarding, an animated series takes 6 to 9 months while filming sitcoms take only 3 days.
COST- Animated shows cost between $100,000 to $250,000, Sitcoms cost between $15,000 to $30,000
Ratings- Animated shows get ho hum to average ratings(This is primiarly due to the KGOY phenomonon) Sitcoms get average to Explosive ratings(again due to the KGOY syndrome and the animation age ghetto)
Music from animated series is only CD's and downloads while Sitcoms make $$$$$$$ with concerts.
You see where this is going. I've seen plenty of kids say that the sitcoms are cooler because they are not "childish" and they are quote on quote "mature" and that cartoons are purely "for kids"

For those who don't want to watch, here's what Cyma did:
"Cyma was the executive who (a) killed my Nickelodeon action show in a fit of post-9/11 panic, claiming that "action shows turn children into terrorists," and (b) signed off on anti-union attacks on the 35 animation writers who had just signed their WGA cards and asked for pay equitable to our far-less-profitable live-action writer peers (viewer for viewer, we were paid 1/6th to 1/10th what the live action writers were getting paid on much lower-rated shows). Under Cyma's leadership, Nickelodeon illegally harassed the pro-union writers, then illegally fired or laid off 30 of the troublemakers, lied in federal court to obtain the names of the unionizing ringleaders, then blacklisted 4 of us (including me) by calling every animation house in Los Angeles and telling them not to hire us, then signed a deal with the IATSE Local 839 Animation Union, locking the Writers Guild out of Nickelodeon forever... and only then did Nickelodeon eventually hire back many of the unionist writers & writer/board artists once they had made sure they'd never have to pay any animation writer a single dollar in residuals on cartoons (never mind the fact that the composers of our cartoons and the actors in our cartoons get paid residuals).
During Cyma's regime, the methodology of paying show creators also quietly changed; creators used to get 2% of "Adjusted Gross" of toys, bedsheets, plush animals, etc. based on their shows. That meant Nickelodeon could deduct the cost of toy manufacture and shipping to the stores and NOTHING ELSE. Then, perhaps upset about having to pay millions of dollars to Steven Hillenburg, creator of SpongeBob, Cyma's Nickelodeon quietly changed their creator deals to "Adjusted Net" of toy revenue, meaning they could deduct the cost of anything they wanted from the earnings of their creators. Cyma mentioned your show during dinner for 6 at the French Laundry? That's $3,000 deducted from your creator payments! They've also held the line on what they pay artists & creators on a per-episode basis... from what I hear, it's not unusual for a show creator at Nickelodeon to work 60-80 hour weeks for LESS money per week than they would have earned 15 years ago, even as the cost of living has dramatically gone up. And why? All to disguise the falling ratings. Because if the ratings are low, the earnings from ad sales are low, so to provide profits you have to slash your employees' paychecks, healthcare, retirement funds, etc. All so more, more, more money can be funneled upward to the executives in charge, to the shareholders, to anyone but the artists who create the work.
Perhaps not coincidentally, during the 17 years since I left Nickelodeon, they haven't had a single hit approaching the success of SpongeBob. After all, if you're a creator with a great show and you have another option which would pay you a real percentage of the toy money, why wouldn't you take it? Nickelodeon have spent the last decade treating creators terribly, like when Carl Greenblatt and his staff on Harvey Beaks learned their show and jobs had been canceled via a tweet. Recently Cyma's Nickelodeon had their biggest recent animation success taken out at the knees by a #MeToo firing that every single person at the studio saw building for years. Worse, she recently had to terminate Nickelodeon's relationship with Dan Schneider, the live-action series creator who singlehandedly kept Nickelodeon on the air for 10 years, terminating him because of swirling rumors of sexual predation of their minor actresses... rumors which the #MeToo movement made far more likely to emerge into public view and make Viacom's cash cow network synonymous with child molestation.
And all of this as Cyma watched haplessly while Nickelodeon's ratings slid off a cliff, routinely getting 1/3rd of what their shows used to get. She's spent years blaming Netflix, the Internet, video games, Voodoo... anything than take a serious look at how they chose shows and ran their house.
When I started at Nickelodeon, the executives there loved animation and loved creativity and didn't want to make anything that looked like something someone else would make. That network thrived and grew from #87 in the ratings to become the #1 channel on cable television. Then the executive leadership changed and the channel became about cutting corners, doing everything on the cheap, chiseling away at artist pay, and most especially about selling toys to kids, and aping whatever cartoons everyone else was already doing. Cyma turned away Adventure Time, for just one example. They turned down Phineas & Ferb, for another example. The channel which nurtured weird shows like Real Monsters, Invader Zim, SpongeBob SquarePants, The Angry Beavers, and Hey Arnold became the channel which bought and rebooted stale old intellectual properties like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and spent millions trying to develop ancient nonsense like Mighty Mouse. Once upon a time we challenged #1 network The Disney Channel and their lazy culture of using money and acquisitions to compensate for a lack of creativity... under Cyma's leadership Nickelodeon BECAME The Disney Channel, with their hidebound development process, fear of the unknown, and over-reliance on being the second person with a good idea, and The Disney Channel hired away many of the old school Nick execs and reinvented itself (not completely, it's still Disney, after all, but they're far more experimental than Nick at this point).
It's never a fun thing to see someone be fired, but I can't bring myself to feel sorry for her because I'm sure she's walking out the door with millions of dollars weaseled out of the pockets of series creators and animation artists. And I can't help suspect that she did much of the same with the live action creators and crews (although less so because they're protected by much stronger unions than animators). The freefall ratings alone should have gotten her fired a decade ago, and the failure of their development department to produce anything my kids want to watch should have been the final nail in her coffin... but this is America where the little guy gets fired and blacklisted and the wealthy elite can only ever fail upward.
It'll be interesting to see what happens next. They've got an opportunity here to completely reinvent the network and re-embrace creativity and originality. Anyone want to lay odds that they'll do that? CAN they even do it at this point?
BTW, I only talked about ARTISTS in this post... but the same shit went on in the executive suites. I've watched with bemusement for a decade as the ratings fell lower and lower and lower and Cyma pushed out all sorts of executives, blaming them for her failures of leadership. I can think of at least EIGHT execs whose careers were shoved under the subway trains to preserve Cyma's job for another six months... the list goes on and on, but Russell Hicks and Brown Johnson spring to mind, as do several execs who were pushed out of Nick and wound up at Dreamworks TV animation and other places. She has just ruthlessly blamed everyone around her for her failure of leadership, and rebuilding that company is going to be the work of a decade of consistent leadership during what promises to be the most disruptive era ever in the cable television industry. I don't know that anyone could pull it off."

I went to the Ottawa International Animation Festival in Canada back in September 2017 for a school trip with my University. Many major animation studios and networks were there such as Pixar, Cartoonnetwork, Nickelodeon, and companies from Canada, France, South Africa, and Japan. Nickelodeon had a fancy banquet event with good food, had an Instagram booth and had the creator of Welcome to the Wayne and a few other creators there talking about stuff. The guy who created Welcome to the Wayne also did those old animated bumpers in the late 90s and then worked for 4kids and helped localize Yugioh. Anyways, during the banquet he was talking about his new show Welcome to the Wayne. He was very excited about it and showed us the concept art and story boards, showed us clips and break down what they did. He then showed us an episode that wouldn't premiere until October. At first I thought this show at first seemed a little weird, but after watching it this show looked like it had potential. It looks like a show that maybe I would've watched as a kid. The concept was good and I hoped that it would help give something fresh to the network. Nickelodeon really made this event feel special. But deep down I had a feeling, like a what if feeling. But then months later I haven't heard anything more about the show. Now that I hear this podcast I'm not surprised one bit.

I hated Cyma during her tenure. She is downright cruel and greedy. Unpopular opinion: Christina Miller is 10 times better than her! Yeah I said it! (Note: I'm not saying Miller is good, but she is considerably less cruel than Zarghami)

It’s because of crap like this that I don’t trust AAA companies and businesses in the entertainment industry anymore. I’m the equivalent of that one conspiracy obsessed man who hates the gov’t when it comes to the mainstream entertainment industry. Thankfully, now that more stories like this are coming out, as well as terrible business practices and desperate short term returns (live services, Call of Duty going deeper down the rabbit hole by chasing the battle royale craze sacrificing the single player campaign in the process, re-airing popular shows over and over neglecting everything else, constant reboots and sequels like “Thundercats Roar,” and “Rings,” that nobody asked for nor wanted (I didn’t see Rings but even I know it was unnecessary, they couldn’t even come up with an original title except for the apparently good midquel for The Ring TwO, I wouldn’t be surprised if the film was made _just_ to tie into Sadako vs Kayako), using negativity to get views like Teen Titans Go and The Emoji Movie, positive press being less important than money, making lazy defenses for scummy crap like “Pride and Accomplishment,” etc.), people are getting fed up with corporate bullshit and making their own forms of entertainment. Views on mainstream media are slowly draining thanks to the internet, streaming, kickstarter and the indie community. Sure, for every “Star Wars Battlefront EA 2,” there’s a “Warframe.” For every “Skyrim remastered,” there’s a “Crash Bandicoot N’ Sane Trilogy.” But for the indie community, for every “The Slaughtering Grounds,” there’s a “The Forest.” For every “Mighty No. 9,” there’s a “Cuphead.” For every “Hunt Down the Freeman,” there’s a “Brutal Doom.” The internet allows us to create whatever we want without the need for censors or dumbing things down as if adults are children who can’t handle violence (though of course, some people take it too far and think that means being as edgy and offensive as possible for the sake of it); Kickstarter and Indiegogo helps us fund our own independent projects without the need for a corporate studio, Patreon keeps our projects afloat. Sure, there’s still scammers, scumbags and dumbasses out there, but just because of a few bad people doesn’t mean we should boycott everything. Hopefully, we’ll be able to make our own content without the fear of studios buying our properties and abusing them to see how much money or toys they could sell. The only thing the mainstream industry in film cares about aside from money are: playing it safe, ripping off popular trends, sequel baiting, not trying new things and spectacles over substance. Aside from big name franchises and spectacles, the mainstream entertainment industry is a bit obsolete and the internet reveals stories behind the scenes that wouldn’t have become public otherwise unless if it was something big. While he was only talking about the mainstream news media and not the mainstream entertainment industry _in general,_ they _do_ have very similar issues, I’ll leave you with a quote by Mr. Enter from his “Homer Badman,” review “I can’t wait ‘till they’re as dead as print media!”

If there's one thing to take from what Nickelodeon did here, it's this. DON'T trust "tight knit industries" that thrive on secrecy and don't share their business practices because 9 times out of 10 they're hiding something for a reason. The animation industry has serious problems with the John K. situation being the worst among them in my opinion. Remember this is an industry that "knew for years" that John K. groomed underage girls as a sexual predator, and most didn't speak up in fear of losing their careers. It appears that most animators are a group of "professionals" that I don't want to be associated with, and as someone who has dealt with a toxic workplace, if I saw anything of a John K. magnitude I would immediately notify the authorities and give my two weeks notice. As far as the Union busting thing, well welcome to America land of unfettered capitalism and income-inequality. Social democracy and Bernie Sanders are popular for a reason. It just makes me so angry that something which is supposed to be creative and like a family is far from it in reality and honestly makes the message of shows like "The Loud House" to be nothing more than contrivances or even outright lies. No more NDAs, no more "whisper networks", and honestly no more scummy companies like Nickelodeon. Cable TV just needs to end.

Nick Jr shows were also screwed over. Peter Rabbit(which initally aired with decent times) has screwed within months barely aired on the main channel and aired mostly on Nicktoons and at timeslots where kids would be sleeping or at school. Wallykazam was also screwed over airing it entire second season in canada months before it aired in the U.S and was canceled after two seasons. Julious Jr was burned off with invisible advertising and Max and Ruby airing no reruns on the main channel because of nickelodeons gloating over "Paw Patrol" and Blaze both primarly designed to sell toys. just more examples of shows that suffered under Cyma

TMNT did not air reruns on the main channel and the entire final season except for the finale premiered on Nicktoons. the Dreamworks shows were also screwed over burning over the remaining episodes of Kung Fu Panda, and Pinguins on Nicktoons while Make it Pop got three seasons solely because of a record deal and EWW extremly cheap to make got 4 seasons in barely a year

More evidence of Nickelodeons Cruelty to Creators
Amber Montana star of Haunted Hathaways tweeted that she was practically ignored by the network. ignoring her for two side characters in the advertising and barely even hinted at
Nickelodeon quickly ordered forty episodes of Sam and Cat without giving anyone the chance to negociate contracts. The schudlue was gruelling for everyone on the cast and crew. Even worse was that when Jeannette Macurdy asked for time off to grieve her mothers death but they refused to do so.(also Arania was paid more than Jeannette despite both being costars)
Executives demanded double the amount of episodes of Naked Brothers Band from 13 episodes to 60 episodes in ONE SEASON!!! especially for a cast that mainly consisted of grade schoolers and high schoolers. Polly Draper the creator refused citing a previous agreement that the shooting schedule would not interfer with their schoolwork. the executives refused and canned the show.
Micah is right this treatment did occur in Live Action Shows. this is only a fraction of what has happened at Nickelodeon.

All these buisness practices are disgusting, but Nickelodeon is one of the worst examples of this. VERY scummy company. In the end, it's all about their merchandise and the money. They don't care at all about the kids, driving away their viewership, or even if their ratings dropped dramatically just as long as they role in enough money every year which is BS. I normally don't like saying thing's like this about people, but Cyma got what she deserved. When she took Herb's job in 2006, the network at the time was still in a place full of endless possibilities. Flashforeword 12 year's later and she damaged the entirety of what the network stands for to the point where it might not ever recover nor even be the same again. With her leaving, nobody is sure where the company can go from here. It can either go up and open the doors for a new future, or if they get a new president, it would worry me that the new president could "very possibly" more than likely just continue doing the same practices Cyma did when she was president. The fact that she's pushed away so many executives and writers away from their network even before she became president is disheartening and depressing. And I'm fairly sure it isn't just her to blame, The company in general has mistreated so many of their shows, and even worse, by not making them very available either, and most of it is her fault with bad practices. She did away with so many shows, turned away Adventure Time and Phineas & Ferb for Fanboy and Chum Chum (For 2 seasons) and yet gave a crappy 5 minute flash RUclips cartoon like Breadwinners a show that didn't even have a million views mind you. Gave internet sensation Fred 3 movies and 2 sitcoms, all of this which bombed heavily by people and critics, and kind of even ruined his RUclips reputation. Overrelied on cookie cutter sitcoms/generic kiddy spinoff cartoons instead of actually finding high fresh new shows. Relies on cringy memes/gross humor to look edgy and cool for the kids. Did away from all the game shows, let Fairly Oddparents go on for year's without any reason or demand from fans, to the point where the damage became unreedeemable by adding so much unneeded characters. Overrelied on Dan Schneider. Changed the logo entirely. And probably worst of all, she overexposed Spongebob on the network so much to the point where the show now is just the networks sole religion with the show naturally getting worse overtime (although it has gotten a little better lately). To me, besides very few exceptions, the Network to me has been in a very crappy state ever since the decade first began and it's been that way since, and it's not my opinion or nostalgia, the feedbacks and the decline in ratings show ( Honestly, I think the network is in even worse state now than it was back in the early-mid 2010's, those shows were bad but at least there was more variety to choose from back than besides just endless Loud House and SpongeBob reruns ). They haven't had a single major hit in year's that came close to SpongeBobs success until The Loud House came along in 2016 ( I Carly, Victorious, Korra, FOP, and a few other's did see some success but never got the hype like mcjaggernaut SpongeBob ) and even then, they always went back to ignoring other programs like Harvey Beaks, Welcome To The Wayne, and Bunseun Is A Beast. I so agree, Loud House was VERY lucky to get some spotlight. I feel so sorry for Micah and Greenblatt for all the horrendous shit they've been through with this horrid woman and this network ( and that's something I believe shouldn't have to ever say about someone who provides you with entertainment ), how hard they worked on these shows for year's and how the networks mistreaded them and never gave their shows a chance. And it sucks that they can't get their shows back either which is completely unfair. With all this, It seems like Cyma really went out of her way to intentionally sabotage the network from a once praised, respected business that offered high quality variety and greately wanting to challenge people of all sorts of backgrounds with imaginative animation and fun sitcoms, into just another ultimate mediocre/shitty daytime network that is now only something just for the little kids to watch and keep them quiet. It's sad, and I just hope the company is heading in a better future. Wow, 2018 so far is REALLY becoming the unraveling point for Nickelodeon. First with Butch Heartman leaving. Than Dan Schneider being let go. Now the president has stepped down ! It'll really be interesting the areas Nickelodeon will be heading to in the next few year's.

Jory Porteous well I have to argue. While CN had those aforementioned shows, it has its fair share of faults: CN real, as well as the cancellation of a bunch of the old shows, TTG overshadowing other cartoons, and the fact that the reboots (well except for Samurai Jack, then again it's a continuation). And Nick had its good points like 90's are all that/Nick Splat, Invader Zim movie, Rocko movie, Hey Arnold Jungle Movie, and some other stuff. Disney, I don't really watch it as much as Nick and CN so I don't know.

Thank the Gods we live in a day and age were you can literally make your own cartoon at your home. Couldn't do that 10-20+ years ago. If you have an idea for a cartoon, movie, song, game, etc. go independent because the technology is there for you to do so. Not going to lie, it will be very very difficult, but in the end it will be very rewarding and you'll be glad that you didn't have people in business suits (who have never been artist themselves and don't know or care about the meaning of art and creativity) have complete control over your art and dictate it with an iron fist.
There's nothing wrong with going independent, the technology is there, it's up to you to pursue that and follow your true vision.

Actually, Adult Swim should be more of its own channel called " 'Dult-Toon Network" so it could have so much more. CN having classics from 9-7, evening being prime time, day being a larger variety, and early morning after 7 is just the thing of randomized shows from all over.
Whether you like it or not, TTG is not the absolute worst, but it has outlived its place in ongoing TV.
      My intentions:
      1. Take the Fictional TV series from the CN Real Era animated, revived, and live properly rather than immediate cancellation (Tower Prep and Unnatural History are the immediate thoughts)
      2. Have less straight-up comedy and more serious series (such as Adventure Time, which is both in a sense, as a primary example), but straight-up comedies will be more intelligent
      3. Give superhero shows more prevalence and respect (beyond what Batman gets)
      4. New logo era is agreed, give it a 2D appearance and not 3D
      5. Probably implement some stuff you suggested as well
