that little bit of Night Shift at the end kills me!! i bought this on vynil TWICE when it came out, so i would always have it. but this here is all i've ever seen from the vid of the show :\
@duerdenn I think she was jealous about the reception the Cure were getting, as they were supporting the Banshees when John left 1-2 dates into the tour! They did try a couple of guitarists, but Bob Smith knew ALL the Banshees stuff! Seamless.
Bill Perri It woz amazing , to this day best gig I ever went to , and I’ve been to a few . There’s just sumthin about the Banshees live ! I’ll never forget it

wow, that was an amazing preformance. Different than the studio. Not better, deffinately more textured and professional sounding, but it doesnt have as much punk additude as the studio version. That doesnt make it better or worse, just has a deffinate shift in mood.
Tongues are clacking words of one vision One tiny incision and teeth are cracking On thin air, on thin air And teeth are cracking on thin air Pulled to bits in silence Left rotting on the ground Slowly pulled to bits in silence Without a sound, without a sound Buildings bleached with shatter, shatter, clatter Fill their senses with cement Watch the people scatter One by one, one by one Pulled to bits in silence Left rotting on the ground Slowly pulled to bits in silence Without a sound, without a sound Young lungs snapping coming up for air The mindless ones yapping, slashing through the thoroughfare One by one, one by one Oh one by one without a fucking care Pulled to bits in silence Left rotting on the ground Slowly pull to bits in silence Without a sound, without a fucking sound Pulled to bits, yackety, yackety, yack, yack, yack Pulled to bits, shatter, shatter, shatter, clatter Pulled to bits, yap, yap, yap, yapping Pulled to bits without a sound
Pulled to BITS is tattooed on my back. Its my rebellion to being gay. Think about it, your are pulled to bits, gays want you to be like them, others want you their way, and you want to be you. I found Siouxsie and the Banshees at the perfect time in my life. Found meaning in all the early work, to get me through to be here today. I guess if I hadn't Lands End, would have been played at my funeral. So to edit and add so no one misunderstands my view. This is about MY feelings at the time and they pull through today. I still blare this song as I drive even at 50 years old. So again, it is MY feeling. Punk was a rebellion movement, and this song is my Anthem to MY rebellion, interpreted as I hear it.
@@ihavezeroideawhattoputhere3653 It has nothing to do with Siouxsie, this is personal to me. I think you should reread what I wrote, I got exactly the tattoo I wanted to express my feelings. Pulled To Bits actually saved my life, as did SATB, because I found the music that spoke to me.
I'm a lesbian and never try to convert others. Every human has the right to be free who they love. There's no room for bigotry! Siouxsie is bisexual and free to choose. She chose to marry Budgie but it's her choice and she's satisfied. More power to her. PMB you're living in a ignorant world.
...from Nocturne. Fellow Cure members during this period feared Robert would leave & join the Banshees, cos he enjoyed the lack of pressure, not being the lead, & also The Cure's future at this point was not certain. Strange to think how at this point, The Banshees future was more certain than the Cure's, funny how things change xxx.
anyone knows the story behind this song? Is it a cover? Why's it not recorded on any studio album? Thanks in advance for the answer.. it's one of my fav. siousxie and the banshees's song
Too fast for my taste - I liked how they played it on stage with Mc.Geoch who also played "half note down" and back - Smith does a good job here too, but it just doesn't get that feel.
are we sure this song is about mob mentality/A Clockwork Orange and not... getting a tooth extracted at an anonymous dentist's office and being shellshocked and feeling violated while all hopped up on anesthesia?

I love how these three men pour it all out for Siouxsie. Fantastic. Her voice!! That deep...what?...contralto?
Robert Smith working the 🎸 !

Incredible band, so far ahead of their time. Lyrics like poetry, music like anthems. Thanks for posting!!!
I love this song... She's so goth without trying to be... I love her
I own Nocturne on VHS and have watched them do this song hundreds of times. It never gets old
This came out on VHS in the early 80’s or you recorded from TV?
I have it on the B-Sides. It's very nerve wracking on that album because there are the sounds of children screaming during the entire song.
My favourite Siouxsie album for so many personal reasons. And this, song is at the heart of it!
what a track...
best song...EVER.
Siouxsie in a great shape here! Yeah!
perfect BPM! other live recordings are slow
She is Siouxsie Sioux, The Mars Volta made a cover in their studio album "The Bedlam in Goliath". She and her band were pretty famous in 80's.
Melt, israel, into the light, spellbound, sin in my heart, overground, happy house

Siouxsie's newest "into a Swan" can be seen in my vlog.
They are both good. Cedric from TMV always says that they "tried" to cover it, out of modesty and respect.

McGeoch was great, but Banshees with Smith was more stable, and could’ve ultimately been a legacy lineup if he hadn’t gone back to The Cure.
