For me the way it ended was a plus for me. It really felt like a comic book, having a lot more things to keep you interested for the next issue feels so right
The resolution for the film wasn't supposed to be Miles's resolution to his arc but rather Gwen's. The movie started on her, introducing her world and character; so it's fitting that it ends with her.
This doesn't quite feel akin to Empire Strikes Back or Infinity War, even if on the face of it they end in similar ways. This feels closer to the end of Deathly Hallows part 1 or Mockingjay part 1, where this is clearly just one big story split in two and will be continued. You can watch Empire or Ininifty War as individual films without their respective sequels and they still feel complete but I wonder if this does, I'm inclined to think not
As someone who has a history of being dissatisfied with cliffhanger endings, I didn’t quite feel that way with this one. Plenty of build up and prep for the next film, but I thing that having much of the focus be on Gwen’s perspective helped quite a bit here. Miles’ story’ll just do its own thing, and simply isn’t done yet.
The next movie comes out in March, less than a year, I was a little unsatisfied with the cliffhanger but you're right thats really it. I loved Miguel so much because he is probably the best writen anti-hero!
My one gripe is I don’t understand why they had to tell Miles his dad was gonna have to die. It wouldn’t be hard to guess he’d run away and try to stop it. How hard would it be to distract him for twoish days?
Personally i think the movie's perfect For Me Gwen's story is my favourite part of the movie, she feels like a real person And We See Her Struggles And Motivations. Peter B Parker's Pretty Good & Maday's just adorable And Was Really Fun To Watch Megel Get More & More Annoyed Miles's Relationship With His Parents Is Really Good & Shows How Different His Life Is To Gwen's Where Her Farther Knows She's Spider-Woman And Tried To Arrest Her & Miles doesn't know And activly works with him And For The Villians Megel & Spot, Megel Is Awsome I Dont See Him As The Villian But He Isn't Morally Right Either And The Spot Was More Enjoyable Then I Fought And MY GOD The Animation Was Incredible Seriously I Love How Gwen's Worlds Dark & Glooming repersenting her thoughs and feelings while miles is bright & colourful AND THE FIGHT SCENES Seriously It Seriously Outdoes The MCU At This Point And Shows How Great Animated Movies Can Be As For The Ending I Liked It It Went On A While But It's Okay And Shows How Much Captain Stacy cared for Gwen honestly anything involving Gwen in this movie was awsome 11/10 seriously go watch this movie
I was so luck to be able to see this movie in theatres on my actual birthday. It was awesome, could not recommend it more. Also, as an Indian, I did have high hopes for Indian spider man and I'll say I wasn't disappointed, he was likeable and fine. His story is a hundred times better than the comics where he literally just a carbon copy of Peter Parker but Indian. They were really able to make him more unique amongst the spiderman, his suit, his yo-yo/web-slinger. I won't say that I was foaming at the mouth and going, "finally representation!" The whole Indian segment was decent and enjoyable. It was clunky at times. The Hindi although not my mother tongue sounded weird, the chai tea joke felt lazy for me, like yeah a translation joke that's super orignal. It could have worked but th execution just fell flat. Like he seemed like he got offended when miles said, 'chai tea', but they did make use of the joke in the second fight with the spot so it's fine. So yeah, it's okay. Not bad, and I do absolutely appreciate the effort.
One point about the “chai tea” joke was a reference back to Miles’ banter with the Spot about “PIN Number” and “ATM Machine”. More or less pointing out the double standard of doubled words, for better or for worse. (P.S. happy belated birthday)
Also Indian. The representation was a little bit stereotypical for my taste. The stereotypical Indian music blaring for that entire section made me slightly uncomfortable. But I mean it’s India I guess. Just wished they did a little bit more digging and not make that entire world so surface level. However, it is amazing that we got that in the first place- I was expecting Spider-Man: LA, or UK, or China. So it was actually really nice bc there really aren’t any western Indian heroes or characters.
I’d say what I didn’t like was how one scene with Miles being chased by other spiderpeople was dragged on a little too long. Other than that this film got me hooked. No film ever made me this shocked once in my life as much as I can remember, not even endgame. The first movie while spectacular never made me feel this way either. I had to process what I just saw near the end, through the credits, and leaving the theatre; that’s how impactful this film was to me. I know I sound overdramatic but once you see it, you will be caught off guard if you weren’t spoiled. This movie was a engaging experience.
I was actually really surprised when it ended as it did. I was like 'seriously?! They're gonna give us a cliffhanger?!' So i was upset, but i was only upset because the movie was good and I wanted more of it.
I disagree, I think this movie ended perfectly in the sense that I kept wanting more. I see what you mean about after the battle because that’s where I started getting hints that the movie was ending but then it didn’t for another forty or so minutes, and that was okay with me. I couldn’t get enough of this film and when it finally did end I was astounded with this film as a whole.
To each their own. To me it’s was great from the beginning to the end. I did wonder when it was going to end during the last 15 mins, but I stopped wondering as it kept going cus I loved it.
thats what I’m saying. They are giving us so much info at the beginning and next movie they will wrap it up. How can we care about the characters when they tell us but not show us what’s going on? I would have been super pissed at the movie if it ended after fighting Miguel then wait under a year for then BOOM PROWLER MILES like no what why not get everything now
7:26 I disagree, Miguel in most aspects is the villain. Hes unhinged and honestly projected a lot of his own tragedy on Miles. Its not Miles fault that the spider bit him, in all probability, Miguel's inability to stabalize the universe (due to his own selfishness) is the fault and yet he's attempting to tear this kid apart. But besides all that, I do have one major gripe with this movie. I don't understand how universes unravel if cannon events don't happen when Miles and his alternative selfs universes both remain intact when the spider bit the "wrong" miles. If that's the case, shouldnt that event been not cannon? Or, if it is cannon, then whose to say Miles can't save his dad? The spiderverse is really flawed in that aspect. Are we supposed to believe this Miles should or should not have been bitten? Because by story telling they say he shouldnt, but the events that play out prove the whole cannon event thing is not true. The only reason Miguel lost the second universe is because he himself lived in it when he wasnt supposed to.... but we watched other spidermans interfere with many of the universes with their bands and they remain in tact.
I didn’t really like the film I was watching it with my younger brother and his friend and them saying that I a white person would kick black people out of stores “ you used to kick use out of store but now we pertect you “ this made me feel uncomfortable even though I never had a family member kick a black person out of a store and one of my family members was a stop on the Underground Railroad But it felt like they were targeting white people in general and I don’t even know anyone who ever did that this line made me lose interest in the movie immediately And the ending made me want to watch a different movie so that I can see a ending this movie was kinda bad compared to the first and the best part was the visuals Also why couldn’t 1000 or more Spider-Man catch up to miles like are there no Spider-Man that can make walls or bubbles or teleport this made the movie fell wierd
For me the way it ended was a plus for me. It really felt like a comic book, having a lot more things to keep you interested for the next issue feels so right
I agree.
@@blacknorthwind93 me too.
I agree but it still annoyed me
Yep, I feel like that was the intention
Yesss I completely agree

I saw it yesterday and its a masterpiece, the story, the plot twists, the animations
I have seen the movie and it was bloody awesome. The visuals was a complete candy store for your eyes. However the second one was even beter
Bloody loved this movie. Hobie Brown is an absolute boss
He's definitely my new favorite tbh

It feels complete when looking at it from Gwen's arc.

What now?
6:06 Don't tell me you expected a Spiderman film to not be a tangled web of storylines
As someone who has a history of being dissatisfied with cliffhanger endings, I didn’t quite feel that way with this one. 11/10 seriously go watch this movie
While I have Spiderman fatigue and the hybrid style is kind of disorienting, I'm just glad this is helping to give more attention to animation.
8:37 "Have we gotten to the point where Sony & Dreamworks are the top dawgs in animation?"
Yes. Yes we have. And it is glorious.
now, i 've seen everything from youtube reviews to easter eggs and breakdowns
....except the movie
did you see Spider-Man (Tom Holland) in the second movie, he is not only referred to but you can see him in live action in his doc-oc suit briefly 😂❤
I cant watch this cuz I haven’t watched the movie yet but it’s funny you just posted because I literally was just watching one of your older vids lol

The only ones I can name are like Ms.Marvel, and Devi from Never Have I Ever, and that’s pretty much it

I will say that for me movie went so fast that I didn't notice the 2 hours until it ended.

I love how the only flaw is that its meant to be a two-parter, so it feels incomplete. Because...duh.
I’m angry that the movie wasn’t longer
Amazing film, don't agree with your "Flaw"

The length 2 hr 20 min isn't that long its just as a society they can't sit still movies use to be at least 2 hrs or pretty close
I just didnt like all the fashing color scenes where it could end up glitched up. That stuff just bugs me a bit
Its literally perfect dude
it was long about 3 hours but to me it was worth it 🤩😁
More like 2 hours BUT YEAH IT WAS SOOO WORTH IT
L take. I think I would've been unsatisfied without it being that long.
Bro what too long????
When did it ever mention white people?
I personally didn't like it...
Why?
Probably worst take I've heard so far
What?
I didn’t really like the film I was watching it with my younger brother and his friend and them saying that I a white person would kick black people out of stores “ you used to kick use out of store but now we pertect you “ this made me feel uncomfortable even though I never had a family member kick a black person out of a store and one of my family members was a stop on the Underground Railroad
But it felt like they were targeting white people in general and I don’t even know anyone who ever did that this line made me lose interest in the movie immediately
And the ending made me want to watch a different movie so that I can see a ending this movie was kinda bad compared to the first and the best part was the visuals
Also why couldn’t 1000 or more Spider-Man catch up to miles like are there no Spider-Man that can make walls or bubbles or teleport this made the movie fell wierd
