This review is totally underrated. My comment is literally this first one. The guy speaks very concisely. Finally someone made a broad test of the pedal with a synth. Thank you!
Completely agree with the comment about this review being underrated. I own all 4 of the Mako series pedals and have watched multiple videos including those from Walrus. Your concise walk-through of the knobs and switches was excellent and extremely helpful, in a way others have not been. I agree with you regarding the learning curve and complexity of this pedal being a deterrent. There is also one huge flaw that people should know about: the pedal reverts to the last saved presets when it’s powered off, and *not* to the last used settings. So if you dial in a sound you like, and don’t save it to a preset, it won’t be there when you turn the pedal back on. I emailed Walrus and they said others have voiced this complaint as well, and they are going to fix it but no time was given (apparently this will be via a software update). I also wholeheartedly agree that despite the limitations of its complexity (I got rid of my Eventide and my HX Stomp for that reason), it sounds so great I can’t part with it. It also saves a ton of pedal board real estate, as do the other Makos (and I would especially recommend the ACS1 amp sim).
Hey ! I've come to check M1 demos with stereo sources. Have you noticed that in chorus mode the right channel doesn't seem to be affected at all? I thought my unit had a problem, but it seems yours behaves the same way at 2:19. This is not the case with the other modulation types.
