Well done! The 'velocity' concept was new to me when I got a DFAM and it took a while to get my head round what it actually does to the envelopes. Fun video, cheers
Thanks! It took me ages to work out why velocity is different to gate length, and then far too long to re-create it! The DFAM must have a very different sort of envelope from the Voyager which is why I couldn't get the notes so punchy.
@@murderousmaths Yeah, there is a good interview somewhere online of Steve Dunnington from Moog (DFAM designer) Discussing the envelopes, they do have a unique profile from the other Moog envelopes with a very sharp attack/decay peak at the front
I think this was fantastic, I love this kind of exploration with my own gear and finding ways to get the most out of it all. I've been using the Korg SQ-1 and two Moog Werkstaats with a cv modulator to try out all sorts recently - tons of fun. Another great synth vid, thanks Kjartan!
Thank you for another interesting and fun synth video! Yet again one of your videos has given me creative ideas, which in this case means finally getting a CV/Gate sequencer to pair up with my heap of old synths. I can see there is much merriment to be had!
wow some really cool sounds at the end there ! Nice to see you again, I have been on the lookout for second hand DFAM , I'll proly get oneday. Not sure if the Behringer Crave will be as good ?
What a lovely man and wizard of a musician. Your soundscape abilities and enthusiasm have absolutely breathed life into my spirit. Thank you.

That makes sense, otherwise people like me would be able to emulate a DFAM and they wouldn't sell any!
Love your spirit man! I just found your channel and Christmas has come early 🎉 thanks for these presents 🎁
Glad you enjoyed it! Have a great Christmas 😊
Always a treat watching your synth videos!
Haha awesome!!! You rock sir Kjartan Poskitt!!! I love your sites and your channel that I recentely discovered. Thanks for the very enjoyable video!
Thanks for the heart man:)

Thanks! My next vid will probably focus on the sequencers and connecting them to different old synths, so maybe it will be useful!
That was pretty incredible. You may not have made a DFAM, but you definitely created a unique and killer sounding beast!
Thanks! It was huge fun to do, that's the main thing. 😊
Nice Voyager! Moog has always put out great stuff, and you have a most excellent collection. Nice jam at the end! Hope you have a fantastic day. 👍🎶
Thank you!
You’re an animal. Love it!
Ha! That's one of the nicest things ever said about me!
would love a sample pack of these sounds.
I'm very flattered! I've reassembled everything to do other stuff now, but you're welcome to sample/loop anything you like from the video.
@@murderousmaths thanks for the offer.. i try to stay way from sourcing from youtube though because of the compression it adds

Not sure if the Behringer Crave will be as good ?
Crave is their version of M32... Edge is what Behringer calls their DFAM knock-off, but I don't think it's been released yet
@@GizzyDillespee yeah sorry that's what I meant.
Wow! I just googled the Behringer Edge and Crave. How did I not know about these? Thanks!
Great video..wich sequencer are you using? Thanks
The Doepfer Dark Time seqs do nearly everything for me - simple, versatile and such fun to play with!
@@murderousmaths thanks a lot
now build a CS-80 from a bunch of dfams....
