Consider including the difference between crafters, assistants, villagers and how to place them down. Most people shouldn't be having issue placing down crafters, but may have trouble trying to figure out how to put down assistants and villagers. To place assistants and villagers, player need to hold the summoning staff, press Tab to open NPC list, and then press Q or E to get to assistant and villager page. Also, the 5 assistants do not need to be put in the same base with their corresponding crafters(of course you still can if you want to). Assistants essentially function as a copy of their corresponding crafters to enable crafting in multiple bases. The only difference between crafter and assistant is they have different unique dialogue and quests. Villagers also have unique dialogue and quests, currently that's the only function of villagers. While the game currently says "A helpful villager that will live and work at your base" in every villager's journal page, they are not able to work or gather in current patch.
Thanks! That’s a really good write up! It actually did take me a little while to figure out how to put down the villagers and assistants haha. I hope the villagers will be able to do something in the future - even if it’s just minor things. Still like having them around just for the immersion though.
1:45 the game gives you a hint when to parry. The weapon will glow up right when you need to press block. Sometimes it is difficult to see for some attacks. Easily visible for the plunderer enemies because the weapons glow yellow.
For people used to souls games, the parry window is early and you can not insta parry, you absolutely need .5ish sec wind up. Took a while to get used to that
I have a base at that same tavern! It's awesome. One thing I do is that if I notice that a NPCs in my camp is getting hung up somewhere, I clear something or add a doorway. For example, where your alchemist was stuck was right next to a window;it would be super easy to change that do a door with some steps and problem solves. Or for me the farmer was getting stuck in the basement, so I cleared out all of the clutter and it stopped. My favorite "found spot" base is a tower I found in East Lapis. The stairs inside are somewhat destroyed so the first time you need to parkour up the outside pretty much. But once cleared I placed a flame altar on top and began filling and fixing it from the top., There are several rooms on the top few floor, plus the ability to add more in the stair well. Lastly I worked my way down the stairwell repairing all of the stairs and replacing the damaged walls. It's awesome (plus I spawn on the roof when I fast travel there.
The Tavern is awesome. I have also been doing quite a bit of digging or redecorating to help with the NPC's getting stuck but I feel they will always just find a new place to get stuck instead haha. Oh, I should see if I can find that tower too, that sounds like a fun project! + It's just cool with a tower base.
Great video, definitely was feeling a bit lost. Just started out yesterday with a group of 3 and had no idea what the hell I was doing lmao. Will look forward to some more enshrouded videos!
Ive been playing this game since launch and I absolutely love it I will say I have never understood any of the stats and you just helped me tremendously, thanks for that!!! Now I know why certain stats are low compared to others lol!
If you're trying to scale a mountain that's too steep to climb but not completely vertical, a good option is to double jump and glide against it. When you hit the ground you will roll up it instead of sliding off.
I would also suggest doing a "G" after the SHIFT-R when dumping stuff into the chests. Reason being, you may have multiple partial piles of items that could be combined to a single stack & free up a slot. I think this happens b/c crafting likely pulls from the first slot (which could have been full) instead of the last partial one during your last drop into the chest.
= Holy crap, your second tip blew my mind! The "leash" is amazing, I didn't know about it. I started fresh a bit ago, just added the blacksmith, and haven't seen him in 4 days. I think he's glitched into a wall, so I can't upgrade anything! = As far as parrying and dodging go, my efforts with those skills in Enshrouded and Valheim gave me the confidence I needed to try a "souls-like", and get absolutely slaughtered! = I would love to see a chart/table/list/whatever of what some of the "enhancements" are on magical items. "Ice Armor"? Am I getting +10 armor against freezing attacks, or is it +10 armor penetration against cold enemies? = It's my opinion that game devs should either include a built-in Codex (like Nightingale), or officially participate in a Wiki. Another banger vid, thanks for the mention (again!), and see you soon.
I'm glad there was something useful in the video! Oh no that's rough haha. I've spent ages looking for them too, which is why I always just resummon now. Yeah, the parrying is definitely good practice before jumping into the deep end of the pool (and playing souls-like games). That's a good idea with a breakdown of all the 'affixes' - I've put it on my idea list. I was working on a "script" for a kind of "wishlist" discussion video for Enshrouded earlier today, and the Codex is one of the things I'd really like to see implemented too. Thanks so much! Really appreciate it - Both the kind words and the tips on my last video.
*(Controller Player)* 1:58 I like/ prefer melee; and one of the things that has stumped me is: some melee weapons have "+elemental damage; fire, Ice" bonuses listed on them...? Does this mean that *that weapon does/ has *that damage type on it; or is it something else, like a buff for staffs/ wands (you *can't "equip" melee weapons so how does it apply? Just by having it on your bar; or does it have to be the "active item?")... soo confusing!?!?!? 🤯
Can see you found the answer already! For anyone else: Short answer is that it applies to the weapon damage of the weapon it’s on. I talk more about it @1:58 in the video ‘14 More Enshrouded Tips I Wish I Knew’.
@@RascallyRasmus YT has probably "shadow-banned" me... signifying me as "undesirable" to their agenda! 🤣 I'm constantly getting censored (auto deleting my comments etc). 😉
I'm surprised the overhead attacks for two handed clubs/axes and daggers could hit multiple enemies. Daggers I only really use against archers because it kind of stun locks them. Two handed weapons I save for tougher enemies or just the Hollowed Halls if it is a good blunt weapon. Though because of my single-handed build I try to keep a one-handed blunt weapon for that job first. I know I didn't do much farming until late into the Revelwood cause I considered it a waste of time. Now though I need to make a bigger farm to save on collecting and harvesting stuff in the wild. Heck, I actually told myself I was going to do this, but I used the fertile soil for a spooky build for the Halloween build contest and given all the fertile soil over there it would be a perfect farm. I should plant a lot of stuff since the only things in the soil right now are trees I don't intend to cut. It would mean having to travel between my main base and another outpost, but would be useful for the plants that grow slowly.
Good point! I really like using daggers against ranged enemies too. We also kind of slept on farming - it’s great for staying stocked on materials. Having a farm at an outpost is a fine idea. I’ll probably be doing that too when I need to up production haha
Been playing this game about a month now, and while i do love it, the most annoying thing for me is that it seems every enemy can just break my blocks even though im pretty much specced out as a warrior / tank build, a few blocks and my stamina is gone, and i believe my stamina stat is about 10. I'm also only finding gear that's pretty worthless and low level or nowhere close to the ratings of the gear im already wearing making venturing into higher areas places where im dying multiple times ... :/
Parrying is definitely the way as a tank - especially as multiple of the skillnodes in the skilltree can rewards it. That being said you could up your stamina to 400 % in the world settings to be able to block for longer. Gear drop is tied to the "level" of your current zone, so the only way to get higher level stuff is to venture into higher level zones or crafting it. I'd strongly recommend picking up 'Battle Heal' (directly south in the skill tree) if you haven't already. It's great sustain for melee. Alternatively maybe try a ranged build and stay at a safe distance 'til you get some better stuff. Or you could tweak the enemy difficulty in the world settings a bit.
a quick question. in the skill tree there are nodes that boost damage agains unaware enemies and backstab damage. so, since wands and staffs are capable of doing both, would it be worth going for them or not really? anyway, amazing guide!
Thank you so much! Personally I’d say no to the ‘damage against unaware enemies’. I think backstab damage can be good if you’re playing with other players that can ‘tank’ otherwise I’d probably pass on that too personally.
AOE's like the fireball and chain lightning can get backstabs on enemies facing away from the point of imapct. Necromancy skulls and the two chain hit skills can also get it but again depends on where the enemy is facing so is more of a bonus perk than something to put points into boosting.
Oh that’s interesting with AOE’s. Had not really considered that, but it makes a lot of sense. Cool that it’s actually based on the direction of the attack and not just your position.
Unfortunately I got no tips for the wells. I’ve only encountered one well (somewhere in nomad highlands) that didn’t work after the update. The rest I haven’t had any issues with🤞 but I have seen other people complaining about it on Reddit since the update. If I come across anything I’ll be sure to let you know. And thank you for the tip!
I'm somewhat confused. For the inventory management, when I press shift+R it just dumps everything in my inventory into whatever empty slots are in the storage.
Instead of using the keys, you can just click where it says 'shift R', I find that quicker. It's maybe more intuitive too, you're clicking the window you want to deposit into.
I don’t believe daggers scale with strength, only with dexterity. I did the same with hazelnuts when I was trying out daggers. They still scale with melee skills though.
What's the tip and trick to make it so I stop freezing Everytime I switch weapons/ glide/ eat/ aim with a bow or switch to build mode? Kinda hard to play when it freezes for almost a second.
Like lag? Probably play on an SSD and make sure the game is on your C drive and not restricted. Make sure you run your GForce game setting auto adjuster or equivalent program to ensure optimal settings
