►Cliff climbing out of the earth: • Abandoned Train/Mining...
In this adventure I head down to the stomping grounds of Alan (Revenge of the Apocalypse) to explore some industrial ruins. What was first believed to be a mining company, turned out to be a concrete factory. We discovered an abandoned house that was used as offices which contained documents giving us more information. We probably spent a good 3hrs here as there was so much to see. It was literally a playground for adults. So come along with us as we explore this abandoned concrete factory. Enjoy
Please Note: Exploring Abandoned locations can be dangerous. I don't condone or encourage anyone to enter an Abandoned structure. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal and when possible, i seek out permission. I simply go to document its history before it's gone and leave things the way I find them. I assume all the risks & responsibility in doing so. Please don't attempt to do this on your own.

I knew right away what it was. My Grandfather worked at an old "gravel pit" in Columbus Ohio. They made concrete and sold it to local businesses. The material is old line stone mix for the concert. This is really so awesome to see and brings back memories of my Grandfather. Thanks for sharing!

I do so appreciate your videos. It is amazing the places you explore in that, all the homes, resorts and industries, people just walk away from trillions of dollars of equipment that took years to setup. All this waste needs documentation! Thank you

This reminds me of Columbia Brick Works in Graham Oregon. My friends and I used to spend hours there exploring, and building forts when we were kids. I guess it's all been torn down now😫. It was built in the 20s and abandoned in the 70s. I lived there in the mid 90s. There are a few pictures online, but nothing like it was when we were there. So much fun.

The drum you called a trammel is actually a dryer drum. Rock and sand would be loaded into the upper end and a huge burner would fire through the drum heating and drying the contents as the drum rotated. The rock and gravel exits the lower end dry and is ready to be used in the "recipe" for making the concrete or asphalt in another section of the plant.

    • @stevemalone6012

It's 54-56 Ford. 54 was the first year for the wing/vent windows to be rectangular. Before that, in that body style, the windshield was slanted back more and those wings were triangular. If you find one with that wrap around rear window, your in the money. I've only seen those in 56.

I kept thinking about what it might have been to work there, imagine having to run between all the sections on a regular basis? Oy! Amazing explore . You guys outdid yourselves this time.. ...In the building with the beautiful diamond air vents....I noticed that the huge cross beam timbers (21:47) were hand hewed ( not planed) . They would have used a special kind of ax called a " foot adze " to remove the bark and "square" the beam. It is a tedious , back breaking job...(The contractors explained the process to us when they built our log cabin ).. .... Loved the old rusty fuel truck..Seems like my Daddy always called the wooden board "step"by the door a "running " board.( Maybe he just made that name up..Lol. )..Did you notice at 1:13:10 the grate had been repaired...scary... Amazing footage , Jay . Thank you for including us in the adventure ( please stay safe). ..

Bucyrus, think of it as two words stuck together. Beautiful and cyrus. (Technically bucolic and Cyrus)
The model # will tell you where it was built. If it starts with a B it was in bucyrus , W indicates South Milwaukee

The damage to the walls in the house could be from BEFORE RUclips, not caused by anyone watching RUclips.

I just scanned comments for Bucyrus-Erie info. I didn't see any so here goes. Bucyrus (Byoo-SI-rus) Erie was a surface and underground mining equipment manufacturing company. They could still exist. I know they mad a lot of draglines for coal. I know the video is old, but new to me.

Most epic explore, history channel documentary... Would make a neat industry to build on a model railroad. At 34:24, holes in the house wall resemble an engineer in a diesel locomotive. Drone footage as well, epic!!

WOW. Just reviewed all 3 vids. To catch what i missed last night. That place is totally marvelous. Was wondering if it could of been cement and rock quarry combine with rock hauled in from some where.

Pictures and video were very interesting but I like better when you are on the ground.
I want to see you make many more videos and not falling through some rusty places and getting hurt bad. Stay safe. Ray C. in FL

My Dad worked for Lehigh Portland Cement Co. in the 50s & I would go with him on Saturdays if he had paper work to finish up & I loved sliding down those red sand hills☺️
