I was in North Carolina for a week to see my best friend and got back last night to Pennsylvania where I currently live. I was at my local barber shop and was telling them about my trip and how much I love NC and would like to move there someday. One of the ladies who works there overhead my conversation and on my way out said “Hey, I overheard your conversation and think that there’s a song I think you’ll really like that came out just last week”. When I got in my car I played the song and I started crying. The song is so profound and spoke to me and my love for North Carolina. Every time I visit I feel at peace there and like there are no worries in the world. No other place has had that impact on me… One day, hopefully soon, I will be a North Carolinian ❤️
This song would be a perfect tribute to my wonderful father in law who passed away on Wednesday in Boone, NC. He was 87 years old but had such a youthful heart. North Carolina was his home even though he eventually moved to South Florida to open his business and raise his family. He always had a second home in the mountains in Boone, and that is where he most loved to be with his family. When I heard this song this morning it made my heart smile. I will miss him dearly. ❤️
