Out of all the things I would see in this match up I was not expecting an Asura’s Wrath reference. (Ik wyzen just used his finger but seriously look at the shots of scooby getting massive and the fist coming towards courage)
I thought it was the tormentor from Yu-Gi-Oh!
I don't think anybody expected that. Still, I loved it.
The 12 of 13 ghosts is a reference to 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo; the original series had them only catch 12 ghosts (it lasted 13 episodes, first one was the chest of demons being opened) and the 13th Ghost in the film was specifically Asmodeus, and he was never captured.
Makes me think about how similar it is to Bill vs Discord. Both of them could not simply die physically, but had to kill each other's mind, body, and soul, which could be done by them.
So this outcome made sence since they could kill each other's body...and nothing else.
Goomba VS Koopa, Wily VS Eggman, Chuck Norris VS Segata Sanshiro, DeadPool VS Pinkie Pie & now Scooby-Doo VS Courage The Cowardly Dog. Only 5 ties in this show. Wow.
You forgot Deadpool VS Pinkie Pie, which is known to most fans as the worst Season Finale ever made, and that joke episode in which they pitted two real life singers (God, I don't even want to mention it cause it was SO bad.

This is the first one where they did it entirely unironically, which is why it's so bizarre, all those other examples were done as jokes, this is the first instance where they have genuine reasoning for the characters not being able to kill each other.
Does Eggman vs Wily also count?

I honestly thought this was an incredible episode and I'm hyped for the next one!
imo the BEST death battle to date.
The two were laughing at the end because the reason they were fighting (wanting the other to deal with the monster) had been taken care of so they lacked a reason to keep fighting and could finally relax.
I can't remember the last time an episode kept me smiling throughout the whole runtime. As someone who has a mass of Courage nostalgia and grew up in a Scooby loving family this was everything I could have wanted and more. This season is so awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's so cool the research specifically determined that they are best friends...
Also is it just me or is the background music for the analysis sections the best they've ever been, it's been hitting a balance of flowing well and being fitting for the characters 🤔

i wwas 100% agasint this matchup happening because it didn't feel in character for them to fight to the death even in death battle, so i am beyond happy the only one who died was eustace, i know some people might think it was a cop out but i don't care

Egg man VS Willy. They truly believed at the time the most likely case was Willy realizing he had nothing to stop metal Sonic. So his last resort is robo enza making him want to rebel which he does already. And as a result he’ll kill both teams. They don’t agree with that logic anymore and know if they did it again there will be a Victor
Chuck sega was a combination of a joke and also at the time they thought: there was no way to have as serious explanation explaining why one wins without sounding bull shit. But recently they’ve admitted they wouldn’t do that
As for Deadpool pinky pie. It’s not that neither could kill the other. This wasn’t explained well in the episode, but they truly believe that with Deadpool having knowing of being in death battle. Both being able to break the fourth wall and pinky always wanting to have fun. The rules force characters to fight to the death but they would be aware of that and can resist it. They truly believe the most likely scenario is, they would realize what’s happening. Tell us to screw off. And they’ll become friends.
it’s up to you to interpret if any of those count I personally don’t think they do or should compared to how this became a tie.
For that last one as well, I think the crew acknowledged outside of that episode, elsewhere, that if they were to give a victor, it very much would've been Pinkie Pie. It's not as though she can't kill DP, whereas vice versa isn't quite as likely to be possible.

They weren’t saying neither could kill each other. Rather it’s likely Deadpool is fucked because he can be killed by enough destruction to your body, and as someone whos seen my little pony I can assure you. She has the means to make that happen.
However if I did say that it is possible for both to kill each other earlier. I apologize I must’ve miss spoke.
One of her powers is just to explode Anything she can or does throw.
So we better calc how much she can lift compared to the already calculated weight of deadpo-

It’s supporting evidence for the other universal feats and the episode from the scene itself explains the energy from the move would have to be the energy from your body to preform it spread equally across the 3. And you can choose what it does and doesn’t affect. Hence why it didn’t destory anything in the universe but it destoryed the snow globe around it because… they didn’t know that was there

They did in fact consider it that way, but they only mention that in the post analysis.
There's a big difference between regenning from nothingness, and from "blowing up", which was the only way they described it verbally.
@@Redrunner613 Well more accurately, when he blew himself up as fireworks. As the G1 blog mentioned and they said in the episode. That’s him coming back from complete nothingness, because after the fireworks evaporate, there is nothing of you to come back from.
They actually said the same thing for sunny the CoCo Bird in the cereal Mascot royal. There’s nothing of you left to regenerate from. And the very next shoot Scooby just appears good as new

Well Fireworks don't actually leave nothing behind in real life, but if he quite literally just appeared in the next shot, then that's fair. During the reaction, there was no reason for me to think that was nearly as impressive at that point.

Every cloud has a silver lining
As scooob isn’t the fire works. He’s a rocket that when blown up we see nothing remaining of it on screen. That launches fire works out of himself. I know that’s not how rockets work hut we directly see nothing remaining of it in screen. No smoke, no ashes. Nothing. And (I can’t stretch this enough) the very next shoot Scooby is falling down completely in tact and fully restored good as new. There was no Scooby Doo on screen and he came back from that. So we can’t compare this scene to how real fire works actually operate. This doesn’t fallow that same logic. We have to go off of Sony what we saw on camera and in that regards. He doesn’t need anything remaining to come back fro- oh god damnit. This debate really is a nightmare

@@Redrunner613 understandable, it's currently my preferred because I personally think it has better banter potential and choreography, plus I think the music styles contrast and blend in a way that the music could be a fight itself. But eh, don't really dislike the other options, just my preference
At this point they could make a soggy potato chip v the one above all and id have faith they could make it work, just over halfway and this is already the best season of death battle, by a lot.
Been a bit but to the “does this break my streak” I think Scooby technically won. It’s just no one died(except Eustace)
He had less damage then Courage and though the meteor tripped Eustace, Scooby grabbing and opening the box was the finishing kill. So I say by technicality Scooby won but everyone won in this but not seeing a good boy die
The last tie we had was Deadpool vs Pinkie Pie back on December 21st, 2016. That means the last tie was nearly 9 years ago.

Bugs has the power to take control of the cartoon and Mickey does not. They're equal but bugs has that wincon which gives him the victory

Get A Horse has Mickey knocked out of the cartoon he was in and start manipulating the cartoon he came from through the screen the cartoon was shown on (i.e. flipping the screen upside-down to change gravity, spinning the screen around to frame-by-frame force the characters inside the cartoon back to an earlier position).

@@SamuelDoherty He was able to call Pete in the cartoon and spray a fire extinguisher to turn the landscape into a winter wonderland, and puncture the screen to drain a lake, but that probably doesn't count for what you are referring to.
Regardless, since he can escape the animation he was in, he would in theory be able to use Thinner from his magic paintbrush on the animation itself to dissolve its contents.

Actually they have actively gone to say that it wasn't, that if you didn't want to go with their joke of a Metal Sonic win, then it'd be an Eggman win. Goomba VS Koopa and most others were done for jokes, not because they genuinely believed it was a draw, at least that is my understanding of it.
@Redrunner613 At the time though it was a legit tie. Because the way they saw it was that it would always lead to Metal killing both of them.
They forgot about the tie with Deadpool and Pinkie Pie. That was the last time it was a tie, I think.

I don't really see Rick losing the next time. Sure I don't know the Doctor, but Rick literally has a thing where if you touch him you die. You don't explode, you don't vaporize, you just become the opposite of alive. Plus he's shown knowledge of the Doctor Who franchise and once even invented time travel using an alien races math in an afternoon.

Yeah, conventional death isn't that big of a deal to the Doctor, 'Regeneration' and all that. Not the VS Term Regeneration, the Doctor Who mechanic. And he massively outdoes Rick in stats to my understanding.

@Redrunner613 Rick also has Project Phoenix, though. Whenever he dies, his consciousness gets put into a clone body, and he'd be able to get back instantly with his portal gun. This will happen infinitely.

That would only apply to the Scooby we see in the movie because it’s confirmed every innovation and movie of scoooby Doo exists in its own separate time line/universe and theyer all un related to each other. So courage being comparable to this Scooby doesn’t apply to all the otherr feats he’s done in different media as those are other scoobys.
It sounds confusing on paper but it makes sense. Trust me.
