I met two forensic psychologists, one works in court and yes she works in courts as a eye witness expert The other one does work with the police but just in helping them do their job efficiently, only problem is that like it said in this video the police don't really like you
JP Alpha I actually do great working with law enforcement personnel & criminals themselves, but tbh it has a lot to do with my background. I relate more to the experiences of the people who typically work in law enforcement positions & criminals themselves than I do my own colleagues.
In what career can you explore the minds of criminals/perps/suspects before and/or after trial? I'm thinking about FP as a career, but I'm more interested in the cognitive exploration in the criminal. Is there another career in this?
Forensic Psychology I have done psych evals for the courts, probation or parole departments & correctional facilities. I also do the treatment part. It’s the only career that actually delves into the person’s mind & core issues from both the evaluation & intervention perspective. My favorite part of treatment is when these really guarded & defensive people start to show their true nature (people are in pain). The average criminal is a lot more average than people realize. The extreme cases can be intense. Twice I evaluated teen boys that I actually feared for what they were capable. It wasn’t even the ones who had ever murdered someone. You have to be ready to put yourself through hearing MANY traumatic & gruesome stories. Criminals are often victims as well, so you may have to listen to their trauma stories or the specific details of a murder or a sexual offense they perpetrated. It usually hits you after the fact rather than during.
Ara cely I find this very fascinating but I feel like I won't be able to do any of this. I'm a senior in high school still trying to find a career. I don't know what to do. I'm scared that if I go down a study and do my classes and stuff I still won't know how to do the actual job. So my question is that the material you learn from school from a textbook or something really actually helps you to do the actual job in real life? Also I'm very interested to study the law/ Justice system plus something to do with science. This has the two and really looks appealing. I just don't know if I can do it
It may not be like we see on the TV shows and in the movies, but Forensic Psychology still sounds pretty fascinating to me.
Taylor Aiken you can be a criminal profiler which is more like the shows
It’s definitely fascinating! The sort of work in which you never stop learning.
These cartoons are dream killers
I feel so stupid. The girl listed all the shows I watch. I totally needed that reality check
samanta sanchez same💀💀😂😂

"...were expensive, didn't fit in with police culture and never caught anyone" XD Brilliant
You know it's kinda nice to see that these actually talk about the reality of things and not "lol you're an idiot for wanting to do this."
You must've not watched all of the videos on this channel then
I still will be pursuing my Forensic Psychology degree but this was hilarious! LOL
Kendra Johnson so how did it go?

I'm an animator. This is painful to watch. It's educational, but painful.
P re I can only imagine! The terribly awkward animation is part of what makes these videos 😝
If we could think like criminals we probably would be criminals. Bahahahaha
watanake lmao I laughed at that part too
Pretty accurate information.
videos useful although the characters are kinda creepy ahaha
Thanks for crushing my dreams

Morgan Loxley, possibly psychiatry, or even neuroscience would be a good fit.
