I think the Q1 is for sure more of what I expected with the GMMK Pro. What sells this for me easily is QMK and VIA support right out of the box, and Keychron even offers plates in different materials now. Will for sure pick one up in the future.
Great video as always 🥰👍🏆 great to see a variety of new switches coming out from manufacturers. I only find the DIY Keyboard folk all claim their right, your wrong, you MUST use X switch or X keycaps. With the variety of budgets, types of switches, keycaps, stabs, cases, gasket/ non/gasket designs etc there’s keyboards to suit many budgets and interests to keep everyone happy 🎉🥳🎉🥳🥰🏆👍
I'm considering the Q4 vs. the Ducky One 3 mini. From what I can see, the main differences is that the Q4 gives me a gasket mount and QMK, while the ducky gives me adjustable angle feet and is slightly cheaper with keycaps and switches included vs. the barebones Q4. Other than that, it's down to style 🤔
Exactly. So really it's basically the same price in the USA. Not including the rotary encoder knob, the Q1 will be getting one later, but that will be at least another $20, and that will take away 1 key
@@keiz_ exactly so we are up to $50 more so far. I also heard you might need a different pcb for the rotary encoder which I assume they will charge you for? Sure you get a fully built board but lets be honest the keycaps and switches included are pretty subpar.
I just can’t choose between the GMMK pro snd the Q1. I really want that muted sound but Q1 comes with slightly nicer case shape and space gray color! QMMK Pro seems to have a bit more boring silver color but nicer sound!
Q1 sure looks sleeker. I like that they didn't include the useless 'insert' button which made the exploded 75% layout look cleaner and better than the gmmk pro imo.
@@CheswickFS I am very aware of shipping and the expenses that come with it, I am just saying it is the same exact price as the GMMK Pro because GMMK offers free shipping at $169.99 while Keychron is $139.99 with $30 shipping barebones. Both being the same price. So not more affordable.
Keychron marketing is complete rip off from razer, which is cool from marketing perspective because those guys are good at that. Compared to gmmk, gmmk guys had more marketing problems on the other hand they allowed you to go through the journey of their keyboard release while this just get released after mda
In the Keychron facebook group or on our discord you could have seen the whole process including design concepts, community feedback getting implemented etc.
Keychron is good at marketing but not an expert of keyboard maker. Why, the claimed aluminum cases is actually made of 4 pcs of aluminum sheets, not the upper + bottom cases, ...
@@minimalistik Nearly all other keyboards, from any company. But the K1 is also narrow. I really could never use such a rest - I constantly move my keyboard around and would die to realign that rest again and again. I have 20+ year old keyboards that are not as high!

If the GMMK Pro is so bad then suggest me another 75% board with these features I'm looking for: White aluminum case Rotary Knob Per Key RGB and Underglow White PCB w/ PC Plate Hotswappable Compatible with Durock V2
Weak RGB, blurry legends on keycaps, no way to change the angle with adjustable feet, abandoned knob, history of poor quality control. Some reviewers are getting ahead of themselves, it's really not such a killer deal
? it really is. rgb is not a necessary feature in the custom community so it being featured is already a plus, no keyboard in the custom community has adjustable feet, knob is said to be supported in the future and there is barely any other keyboard that has rotary knob besides the gmmk pro unless you spend +$100 more, poor quality control in keychron is unheard of. none of your arguments are valid or strong enough to deny that this keyboard easily beats gmmk pro.
Knob was abandoned, since it was a community request this obviously takes longer than the already for month worked on concept. Knob will be released in october.
@@Chillhoof They do, because not everyone is living in USA. For every GB or whatever you have to pay shipping in the rest of the world. Its normal. GMMK PRO has the same "problem" if I want a gmmk pro in gemrany this would cost me 235-245$

I hope too watch your video as soon as possible. Your ratings and reviews really helped especially as they were minimalistik
Hey thanks! means a lot ☺️
Nice video! Which one do you prefer? In addition, did you reconfigure anything on the GMMK Pro besides switching the CMD and ALT keys?
Would've liked to hear the same switches in the Gmmk pro and the Q1.

Very clean look. But what keycaps were those?

Just bought my barebones kit based on this video alone. thank you!
haven’t watched the video yet but i know it’s gonna be a BANGER
Aw yeah Rohit!
Plus $30 for shipping so its really $179 barebones or $199 for the fully built. Glorious at least offers free shipping.

Only for the USA they offer this. In Germany a GMMK PRO woudl cost me 235-245$ :) But Keychron has proxys too

do they make those keycaps for RGB use and all black I loveee the font I can't seem to find it anywhere
Nice price point and a good competitor. Sounds really hollow and pingy, but might pick up this one for review.
I think they did this on purpose. Something that makes you open up your keyboard to get caught in the trap of becoming a keyboard enthusiast
How come other reviewers say the keycaps are PBT and dye-sub instead of double shot? Also the fonts on your keycaps look way better
The keycaps are doubleshot ABS
the review units were PBT but retail will be ABS and additional foam under the board
When will the nordic version be out?
ISO already is live since day 1
Finally a decent looking Keychron
Is that wrist rest comes with the pack or its extra?
It's a separate purchase.
Sir how long is the total cable length?
Can I put durocks in this board?
yes
Q1 sure looks sleeker. I like that they didn't include the useless 'insert' button which made the exploded 75% layout look cleaner and better than the gmmk pro imo.
coulda been the GMMK pro killer if the shipping wasn't $30 ;-;
U must be from USA :D You know that shipping exist in the world? Everyone has to pay it and for USA and EU shipping already includes VAT.

I wish they did a proper TKL in this new style case. The right side of the board looks like a bad game of Tetris to me.
Keychron will follow up on each layout with the Q-Series
how bout the input lag?
but where to get the badge
Hello bro can you make video about your gadgets wallpaper please I really like these wallpaper.
Any word on how to get it with a knob?
From what I've read... Either you'll have to solder it on, or buy a new pcb for it later. Not sure.
@@Stormcrownn Dang it! I hope the new pcb comes with the kit. Thanks for sharing.
I'm pretty sure that they will release it later. They also said e-white is coming later.
The knob is available as a layout choice these days. Old thread, I know.
Only thing I don’t like is the aluminum case. It sounds way too hollow and pingy
i wouldn’t say it kills it, because with the right mods the gmmk pro can catch up. but if you don’t have a gmmk pro maybe consider a q1
