Fun Fact: George Lucas actually created Star Wars taking example from medieval novels: a princess to save (princess Leia) , a Dark Knight (Darth Vader), a Kingdom with scary bad guys (The Empire with Stormtroopers), a Knight Order (The Jedis) and the presence of magic (The Force) .
True. The plot of Star Wars is heavily inspired by Arthurian legend. Lancelot (Anakin) is one of the greatest knights (Jedi) to have ever lived and destined to find the Holy Grail (bring balance to the Force). But his character flaws and his illicit, destructive love for Queen Guinevere (Padmé) leads him astray and he is unable to complete his quest. Manipulated by Mordred (Palpatine), his desire to save Guinevere (Padmé) leads him to betray King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table (the Jedi Order) and he massacres many of his former friends and allies, leading to the eventual destruction of their order at the hands of Mordred (Palpatine), who usurps the throne. Yet through his doomed love he conceives a son, Galahad (Luke), who surpasses his father and becomes the perfect embodiment of knightly virtue (the Jedi Way). Young Galahad (Luke) is then able to redeem his father and find the Holy Grail (bring balance to the Force). Aside from Galahad, with the sequels Luke's character arc also has gained a strong paralel in King Arthur himself, with both being the son of a father who was prophesied to be "the chosen one" but who failed and turned evil, both defeating the big evil threat (the foreign invaders in Arthur's case, the Empire in Luke's) and fulfilling their father's prophecy, both building up a glorious new kingdom (or Jedi Order in Luke's case), only for it to be destroyed by the betrayal of their nephew (Mordred/Kylo Ren). Devastated with this betrayal, Arthur/Luke retreats into isolation and in his absence evil flourished once more. Finally, Bedevere/Rey is able to persuade Arthur/Luke to return and face Mordred/Kylo Ren in a final confrontation, after which Arthur/Luke perishes. There are differences between Star Wars and King Arthur (and it also depends on which version of the Arthurian legend you go by), but the similarity in themes and characters is pretty obvious.
Star Wars, the Jedi Order especially is based on Buddhist principles and the Japanese Samurai. George Lucas originally wanted a Japanese actor to play Obi-Wan in A New Hope but he refused citing cultural appropriation…

This was a really sweet song. Was disappointed that none of the tracks were referenced in the newer trilogy since they referenced just about everything else everywhere.
You do realize that it took them two movies and writing themselves to a corner before they referenced the prequels? It's like they didn't want to or something.
"Thou art truly…bewitching." " 'Tis so only because I'm most in love." "Nay-hah hah-nay, 'tis so because I'm most in love with thee." "Thus love hath blinded thee?" "Regrets, that is not quite what I meant." "Yet 'tis mayhap true."
I’ve been wanting to hear the Medieval version of Across the Stars! It’s definitely one of my favorite Star Wars songs, and it sounds just as beautiful in this style. I love that you slipped in the Funeral Suite and the Force Theme with it. Fantastic job!
Padme’s outfit actually looks better in this than in the movies, I wish she could have worn something like this at Geonosis instead of that weird tight white cloak
Just imagine the entire skywalker saga (episodes 1-6, sequels suck) as a medieval epic. If they remade all the movies with that twist it would be SO sick
Honestly I always thought this peice of music was always sad just because when I played a gameboy version of lego star wars this was the song that played when shimizu dies. And I always thought this as something more to be played st a funeral and not a wedding but now that I know its called across the stars and it's a loved theme song I see it getting played at weddings. Also padme in the art cover is honestly sexy as hell
*Fun fact:* Rapiers did not exist until the late 16th century, the medieval ended mid 15th century which means they did not exist in the medieval era, they're from the renaissance period. Edit: Why are people taking this as criticism and crying over it? It's a fun fact, stop crying and build a bridge to get over your sad tears. How pathetic.
They were adapted from the Estoc which was invented in the 14th century, so thrust-type swords are fine in medieval art. They wouldn’t have had that ornamental guard though, that is a clear marker of it being a rapier.
It's a fallacy to say that the Medieval Period simply "ended" after the 15th century and the Renaissance "started" at the 16th. The two periods were very much overlapping.
Sir Anakin: May I art tell thee something? Lady Padme: I doth not know. Sir Anakin: Then howth may I tell thee? Lady Padme: Maybe thou must use thy intuition of knighthood. Sir Anakin: It does not worketh around thy. My mind is always a muddle... I can only think of thine perfect face. Lady Padme: Kind sir, please doth not... Sir Anakin: From the moment I set mine own eyes apon thee, all those ages ago, not one a day has past when I hath not dreamethed of thou. And now that I may be close to thee once more, hell has gripped me in agony...
This is lovely - of all the Star Wars tracks this is one of the one I was hoping for the most as I think it would actually lend itself quite well to this style with the combination of tragedy/romance it represents. ETA: Oh, just after I clicked save on this comment, it segued into Padme's funeral theme as heard over the Revenge of the Sith epilogue. That was truly stunning and masterful and really helps highlight the tragedy. Really, it brought a tear to my eye. Jokes aside, Across the Stars is my favorite Star Wars theme of all time and works THE BEST with the medieval twist
I thinketh that such tunes could not possibly make me any more emotional...tis wrong, I was, indeed! Thou bringest tears to mine eyes!
This is going to be sick. As soon as you started this series I was waiting for u to make a medieval version of this song
Really like "Padme's funeral / Vader's birth" themes on 2:09, which then mixed with "Across the stars". It sounds perfectly dramatic and beautiful!
This was a really sweet song.
Was disappointed that none of the tracks were referenced in the newer trilogy since they referenced just about everything else everywhere.
You do realize that it took them two movies and writing themselves to a corner before they referenced the prequels? It's like they didn't want to or something.
@@mpnuorva, I do realize. That's why I said what I said. (^_^)
Padme looks AWESOME! Nice job!
"Thou art truly…bewitching."
" 'Tis so only because I'm most in love."
"Nay-hah hah-nay, 'tis so because I'm most in love with thee."
"Thus love hath blinded thee?"
"Regrets, that is not quite what I meant."
"Yet 'tis mayhap true."
This is now my favorite version of Across The Stars hands down! A bloody masterpiece.
We need The Force Theme in medieval cover please.
This style actually fits the song WAY better than i expected
I’ve been wanting to hear the Medieval version of Across the Stars! It’s definitely one of my favorite Star Wars songs, and it sounds just as beautiful in this style. I love that you slipped in the Funeral Suite and the Force Theme with it. Fantastic job!
This ... This is perfect
Padme’s outfit actually looks better in this than in the movies, I wish she could have worn something like this at Geonosis instead of that weird tight white cloak
bruh she was sentenced to execution, not to have a senate meeting lol
@@tylerprow6441 In the prequels, Senators went nowhere without a cape.
I disagree , yes this is a nice outfit but the geonosis outfit is soo sexy and when her belly is revealed daamn shes hot.
@@Shadow0Heart1 That wasn't quite a diplomatic trip was It?
@@Shadow0Heart1 She had a cape around her neck when leaving the ship but she lost it during the engagements...
This is exactly what I needed.
Anaikin: I don’t like sand
Padme: next thing I knew I was pregnant
This deserves all the attention
Just imagine the entire skywalker saga (episodes 1-6, sequels suck) as a medieval epic. If they remade all the movies with that twist it would be SO sick
This is where the fun begins.
I think that given that Padme's weapon is a *so UNCIVILIZED* blaster, I think it would make more sense for her to carry a bow.
I've been looking forward to this
Do Binary sunset next!!
(scene where Luke watches the twins suns)
I second that!
Absolutely beautiful
Love the artwork too! Very inspired to make costumes like this. ❤️
This is beautiful. Simply beautiful.
That was really pretty, and the artwork is lovely!
2:26 why this gave me chills?
Finally one, that's making me wake up early!
*real words that came out of my mouth* "You threw in the funeral! You monster!"
Excellent job!
Art thou an angel?
I beggeth yon pardon?
An angel, m’lady!
That artwork though... Super cool outfits :)
"This is where the fun begins"
The heavy fulute in this song always reminded me of a medieval song. So this just naturally feels right.
Have you ever hear about the tragic love story between a queen and a Knight who their love doomed all the kingdoms ?
Such exquisite craftsmanship. It is amazing how beautiful music can be when forged by its ancestral artisans.
That ending part tho.. It has such a mournful melody, yet one still with a thread of hope in it.
"YE ASSUME THY SWORDSMANSHIP"
"attempt it, nay"
* gets legs and arm cut off *
"tis but a scratch"
A scratcheth? thy armeth's off
I love this picture, holy crap
*Fun fact:*
Rapiers did not exist until the late 16th century, the medieval ended mid 15th century which means they did not exist in the medieval era, they're from the renaissance period.
Edit: Why are people taking this as criticism and crying over it? It's a fun fact, stop crying and build a bridge to get over your sad tears. How pathetic.
good to know
They were adapted from the Estoc which was invented in the 14th century, so thrust-type swords are fine in medieval art. They wouldn’t have had that ornamental guard though, that is a clear marker of it being a rapier.
Sorry I’m a grammar nazi
It's a fallacy to say that the Medieval Period simply "ended" after the 15th century and the Renaissance "started" at the 16th. The two periods were very much overlapping.
Impressive
Outstanding.
Anakin: I'd like to look across all your stars.
Padme: I'm all yours!
'cause that's basically how Anakin flirts. lol
I could listen to this for hours on end. Beautiful absolutely beautiful
"Love art save thou Padme, only thy powers can do so!"
I LOVE this direction with the quieter almost Celtic sounding Star Wars tracks, please keep them coming!
*hell hath
My dude, the Padme's funeral ending incorporated at the end... Holy Bard in Heavens, that was beautiful
Writing on Anakin's sword: Be the "something" the "something"

Master Yoda, are you okay? Your speech seems normal.
Its just runes, it does not translate.
Such good eyes you have, grandmaster, thank you for sharing
@@WarriorMondenkind no, it's aurebesh

This is so beautiful
I feel Padme should've had a little crossbow.
No don't trust me with them XD
@@evie7794 omg it's Padme!
Me too, that would have been more similar to the gun she had in the Clone Wars.
I agree
Probably a wheelock would suit this time period more given the desired small size
It sounds peaceful.
Please do the clone wars theme in this style!
I always appreciate how your arrangements aren't just a straightforward copy of the theme but always include some other motif/theme to blend it together.
"He loved her and She loved him."
I can never get tired of this theme. It makes me emotional a sad love story we never got to see because of bad writing.
Сэмуель, твой трек "Генерал Гривус" потрясный, продолжай в том же духе!!!😎👍🦅⚔

@@Itzy066 Samuel, your "General Grievous" is amazing, go on like that (rus translate)
I need C3-PO to translate this
Hauntingly fitting.
Obi Wan's Theme or The Force Theme next?
oh my god this is BEAUTIFUL IM CRYING
