I just picked up a Mach-E premium last night. It qualifies for the tax credit :) There are a few requirements that need to be met for the $7,500 tax credit. 1) For one, most of the car needs to be manufactured in North America. Both the 2022 and 2023 Mach-E's meet this requirement. If you want to make sure that the specific car you're looking at meets this requirement, the IRS has a Vin search tool wherein you can input a car's VIN number and it'll tell you if your car was manufactured in North America. 2) The second requirement is that the battery components were either made in the US or made in a country that is a trade partner with the US. The US trades with 157 different countries so that requirement is easily met. 3) The MSRP for the Mach-E cannot be more than $55,000. According to the IRS website, for purposes of the tax credit, the MSRP does NOT include things like the destination fee, tax, registration, fees, and increased costs due to the dealer adding stuff to the vehicle. The 2023 Mach-e Premium, RWD with the standard battery qualifies because the MSRP is just a hair below $55,000. The GT, California Route 1, Premium AWD and any of the Premiums with the Extended Range battery would have MSRPs over $55,000 and therefore do NOT qualify. So basically, only the Select and the Premium RWD, Standard Range Battery qualify for the tax credit. The Mach-E Premium I bought last night is RWD and standard range battery and the MSRP is $54,975 and therefore qualifies for the tax credit. I'm absolutely loving my Mach-e so far :)
Some of these premium safety features are given on 35k cars. This trim is high on my wants. I ordered it. Wished the night pony feature was for all premiums. Extended battery is another 11k
The 2022 Premium started at $49,100 and qualified for a $7500 tax credit, for an effective price of $41,600. Meanwhile the 2023 Premium starts at $54,975, fails to meet the requirements for the tax credit. A 12% increase in price charged, a 32% increase in price paid.
What the hell is Ford doing by droping the confort package in Canada. They expect us to pay over 55 K for a car that has no heated seats ? A 2012 Hyundai Elantra had that feature standard at that time. Our Ford dealer just contacted my girlfriend to let her know about the 2023 models. She ordered a Select with the Tech package back in May. Oviously, we'll be canceling that order. Besides Ford, Tesla and Polestar, in Canada the other good EV (ID4, Ioniq 5 and EV6) all have wait times of over 2 years...
Not sure why there would be a delay, Ford is just talking a order not building it right in front of you… My sales person said nothing on this, plus there’s a person that said there was a Dealership that was already doing ordering and that was. Premium
Yeah I feel you on the price point. But welcome to the pandemic car market. Everything is marked up these days. I was looking at Honda CRVs and dealers were asking for $675 a month to finance and $725 a month to lease! A Honda CRV! Paying more for an EV of mustang’s caliber was a no brainer at that point. I’m slated to get $10k back in the form of tax credits and cash rebates from California and the federal government. The $7500 federal tax credit will help a lot. Also, many states and provinces offer local tax rebates for buying or leasing EVs as well. The mustang Mach-e is hands down the best car I’ve ever owned.
Ok, you are not an engineer, I get that, but the fact that you didn't know that automobile mfg. have been using laminated windshields since 1936 was weird, and your first thought was for sound, now that's funny. I know, you're just another car salesperson.
This is packed with information. Thank you.
The front windshield also has IRR [infrared Reflection]. Helps keep out the sun rays.

Are there any changes between the 22 and 23?

How?? $80k cap for suv
That's good news then.
Why would this not qualify for the tax credit?
@@Greenman247 The problem may be that the EPA considers it a station wagon not a SUV.
At this time we dont know, because the requirements for the tax credit are changing - SD

Our 2018 Ecosport has many colors to choose from.
My local dealer is saying there's a delay with being able to submit specifically the Premium model on the 30th. Any info to to share from Ford?

It Would be awesome if they actually built his car in America
Laminated windshield will cause a problem to escape if ever submerged in water.
All cars in the USA have laminated windshields.
60k+ after taxes and fees for a Ford "SUV." Daylight robbery.

He is talking about the side glass having acoustic laminated glass to keep the vehicle quieter. Most side glass is tempered.
