the sidecar riding position looks like the same stance one might tight while being raped in prison. Rigid, determined...resolute. Eyes straight ahead

My local cinema (Ettalong) is having a 50th anniversary screening today. The funeral bike (or a copy) is current parked outside the cinema..

@MrJohannVegas -Yes, but if you watch the movie, it makes sense. The funeral got a lot of attention and was reported on the news so he could be a news cameraman.

@GavinJ37 Hi Gavin, many parts of the F3 were open as early as 1973 (remember coming back from holidays on this road). It was piecemeal in those days ie stop/start, and there was a toll

Does anyone notice that, at 2:34, there is a cameraman in the shot?

This makes no sense. The highway they are on wasn't opened til the late 80's. Up til then, if you wanted to travel north from Sydney...you had to take the old pacific Highway which was basically aswerving two lane highway which today runs parallel to the one you see above. Had this part of the highway existed then..we would have gone this way. This is how it looks today...certainly not back then. Don;t know how they got this shot.

From the Dept of main Roads Theres a photo but I cant post it
First vehicles crossing the north bound lanes of the new Hawekesbury River Freeway Bridge - a key section of the F3 Freeway (now called the M1). Taken from DMR documentary about construction of the bridge from mid 1970s.
