How crazy to look back on this game and think how the outcome brought LSU back to the powerhouse they are now and how Tennessee has never been the same... crazy!!!
As a born & raised Louisiana native who grew up a huge LSU fan of Kevin Faulk & Josh Reed, I’d have to agree this game was the building block that helped build a standard that the entire nation continues to expect & respect from the LSU program.
I remember the Tennessee QB holding a Rose in his mouth after their previous game. Assuming they would easily beat LSU, and be on their way to the National Title game in the Rose Bowl. (They played and beat a good Fla. team in a make up game that was scheduled back in Sept. It was cancelled after the attacks of 9/11/2001)
That 2001 Tennessee squad was loaded with great talent though. I’m curious if Tennessee could’ve held their own against that great Miami Hurricanes teams. They definitely would’ve done better than Nebraska. Those 2001 Hurricanes had the biggest names ever, but they truly did underperform that season. They had a very close game with Boston College late in the 4th quarter and only beat Virginia Tech by 2. For supposedly such a great team, they shouldn’t have had to beat an 8-4 VT team by only 2.
The most stupidest thing that I’ve ever heard !!!!!! Hey scooter, just exactly what is the connection with LSU and a corndog ??? Exactly, there isn’t one !!! Therefore why do you bunch of idiots keep saying something when you don’t even know why you’re saying it ???? But yeah, I bet the citrus bowl would smell nice to Tennessee. I mean when’s last time that Tennessee has even played in a top tier nothing bowl game such at the citrus bowl ??? Yet LSU has played for 4 national championships since that game against Tennessee !!!
Jennifer Mcdaniel I know why I’m saying because the general consensus is, other than with Loser State University fans, is that their fans and inside the stadium smell like corn dogs, but that’s a lot nicer than what they actually smell like. There’s a reason they call it Death Valley you know, because of the stench lol.
