To be in the Truth, you have to let the Word translate the Word, here's for the keys of the kingdom of Heaven: The answer is in Luke 11:52 "Woe to you experts in the law! You have taken away the key to knowledge. You didn’t go in yourselves, and you hindered those who were trying to go in." The keys are Simply the knowledge of God. If you Don't have knowledge of God, you stay out of the Kingdom. And have the knowledge, it's not Simply knowing verses, the knowledge it's that: "The revelation of your words brings light and gives understanding to the inexperienced." (psalm 119:130) the revelation of the Word is the real knowledge. Because the Word is entirely written by the prophets, and prophets have spoken in parables (hosea 12:10), so the entire Bible is in parables, and revelation of these parables give us the real thought of God, give us light and life, and allows us to enter the Kingdom. I do believe that the word of God could be a Key but there are true keys in the Kingdom of God. One being forgiveness I know. To say that only the word would be a key would go against the authority.
Keys Principles. Keys unlock or lock things. A key is useless if you do not understand it's use. If I use my house key to my car nothing will happen. No power. If I give you the key to my house I have given you authority. At least to enter. if I have locked rooms you will need another key. you will need to know how to apply the keys. Knowledge and wisdom of the Gospel are keys.
I have been studying this myself and from what I've found within the modern day scribe's is that in the old testament times people would have to God to priests to sacrifice in order to come to God with questions and prayers. And in those days the people would ask the priests to interpret the Bible for them so they come keep God's commandments. Well now through repentance and receiving the Holy Spirit we can come to God and understand the Bible for ourselves therefore giving us the keys of the Kingdom of God.

The doctrine of OSAS and Lordship salvation is a perfect example of the distortion of the word that causes the truth to be bound and false doctrine released. To spirit rebirth repentance, baptism, and grace is all you need. To soul salvation/sanctification is not necessary and flies in the face of saved by faith alone in Christ alone. Then the Kingdom of God is distorted to the point that it is here and now and the church controls it/expands it because its in your heart. then the judgement seat of Christ is for rewards only, so dont worry about it because every believer is the bride of Christ.
Hello pastor John, I have a question relating to the law of moses. Why did God allow stoning in the old testament but Jesus stoped the stoning of a sinful woman in the new testament?

In the old Testament, God knew The people weren't able to keep the Whole Law, so once a year, they went up to the High Priest to sacrifice an acceptable animal by placing their hands on the head of the animal, thus tranferring symbolically their sin onto the animal i.e. Scapegoat!! Killing the animal..the shedding of the Blood to atone for the sin..and burning the flesh on the alter!! All foreshadowing what was to come!! The High Priest now being Jesus Christ, Sacrificial Lamb of God!! Blood Shed atoning for our sins!! Wow, you sparked all that in me!! I've heard the argument that the "Petra" vs. "Petros" argument does not stand because Jesus would have been speaking Aramaic at the time and must not have made this play on words as Aramaic does not have these two connotations for the word "Stone." This confuses me. Does anyone have an answer?
Simon Peter was often said to be the "GATEKEEPER"... Logically, the KEYS need Doors or Gates to "Open and Close" or to "Bind and Lose"... the word KEYS is not a literal word but a symbolic/ metaphorical word which means to have the Right Authority (Leadership) to the CHURCH of God in Christ in "Binding and Losing" on Earth as well as in Heaven... The word KINGDOM is also a symbolic/metaphorical word that Christ Jesus used which means the CHURCH of God which Christ built upon the ROCK... It is also not a Literal CHURCH (Wall Building) but the Body of Christ that is composed of a group/congregation/association of Christ's believers commonly called CHRISTIANS... I used the word "Right Authority" for the KEYS... A Gatekeeper kept many KEYS, and the Door or Gate can not be opened or closed unless with the RIGHT KEY ... therefore, the "Binding and Losing" on Earth as well as in Heaven does not solely come ALONE from the Gatekeeper as he pleases or wishes to, but must also be according to or sanction by the WORD of God (Scripture). Not by the Gatekeeper's WILL but foremost, God's WILL be done... At the time when Christ Jesus gave the KEYS (right authority) to Apostle Simon Peter, the KINGDOM (Body of Christ/Church), has not yet arrived... why?... for Christ Jesus has not yet at that time fulfilled His mission to ransom the sin of mankind... After His death, resurrection, and ascension... on Pentecost day, the Apostles and believers were all gathered in the closed room when the CHURCH (Kingodm) arrived thru the Holy Spirit (tongues of Fire) to each individual in the room... thus, the CHURCH arrived on earth,... We, the Christians thru our Faith in Christ by God's Grace became "PART" of the Body of Christ, the CHURCH of God in Christ... and this CHURCH grew to be the 7 Churches in Asia Minor in the late 1st Cent. A.D., before the Book of Revelation was completely finished by Apostle John and copied by his scribers from Hebrew-Aramaic manuscripts to Greek manuscripts in around 92 - 96 A.D... Of course, this is addressed to Peter. It is a stretch to interpret as addressed to all disciples to all disciples. Doing so is what causes the problems cited here
From Leo: No stretch, look it up, read the chapter in context. Matthew Chapter 18 begins with JESUS addressing the Disciples. It does not prescribe a change of audience, vs. 18 is still all the disciples. I have lots of Bibles, but am reading out of the ST. Joseph New American Bible published by Catholic Book Publishing. If we take a careful look at both the 1st and 2nd epistle of ST. Peter, we see no where does he differentiate his calling from ours. I Peter 2:9 says that the readers of his Epistle,, are a royal priesthood, not just Peter. May GOD bless you in your studies.
Lanette it means that the assertion that those promises were addressed to all disciples is wrong. The keys were given to Peter alone and clearly. How could a group of minimally hundreds of equal recipients/disciples ever come to agreement on what to bind or loose? Text is clear

I disagree about what the rock is on which the church is built. It is surely Peter, although the saying doesn't mean that Peter is a foundation of the church in a technical sense. We could paraphrase: 'Peter, I am going to use you massively in the early stages of building my church.' Catholics are wrong to see any reference to papal succession here, but it is equally wrong to say that Peter isn't the rock at all. If we posit that the original saying used the Aramaic word kepha twice - 'You are Kepha and on this kepha I will build my church' - then there are good reasons for thinking that the best way of translating this into Greek is: 'You are Petros and on this petra I will build my church'. The reason why petros isn't used twice is because in the first century petros was almost never used as a common noun and also it seems that this word may well have never been used to refer to a foundation stone. Hence different words (petros and petra) were needed in the Greek translation, although this apparently wouldn't have been the case in the original Aramaic (kepha twice).
I get your point my brother :) but you must also know the context of the passage. Jesus and his disciples were at caeserea philippi (stood only 25 miles from religious communities of galilee) when they had the dialogue. At Caesarea Philippi, Jesus and his disciples were standing in front of the largest rock formation in Israel with pagan statues and at least fourteen temples in the background. If you look up info about this place, you will see its actually a massive bedrock where the pagans also worshiped the idol Pan (also the centrAl baal worship place of the canaanites in the OT) . In fact its the religious center among greek pagans for Pan, so they named it Panias in his honor, before Herod philip rebuilt the city and named it after himself. Theres also a cave in the setting where the pagans believed to gave been the gate to the underworld, where fertility gods lived... aNd the water that flows from it is a symbol of the underworld and believed that the gods travel to and from the underworld thorugh caves. Therefore both the water and the cave created a gate to the unserworld. Pagans conduct detestable activities such as prostitution and sexual interaction btween humans and goats in order to entice the returns of these gods each year. Standing as they were at a literal “gates of hell” in a massive bedrock in caeserea philippi, i believe Jesus was intentional when he said “and upon this rock (petra, see concordance at strong #G4073) i will build my church and the GATES OF HELL Will not overcome it”. Moreover, Jesus had given Simon a nickname, “Petros,” meaning a single stone. “Petra,” the term Jesus used for his future church, means a massive rock or formation; fixed, immovable, enduring.
@@hei0919 Thanks for your reply. You are right that the dialogue in Matt 16:17-20 takes place at Caesarea Philippi. I'm not sure how much of an allusion there is in the dialogue to the rock formations and pagan rituals at Caesarea Philippi in the saying of v. 18. But even if you are right about that, it doesn't affect my point. You say that petra is used for Jesus' future church. Actually, Jesus says that the church will be built ON the petra. So the petra must refer to something other than the church, and I believe it refers to Peter. I think the following happened: (1) In the original Aramaic of Jesus' saying the same word, kepha, was used twice, because this word could be used for any kind of rock including a foundation rock. So the saying was a play on words that went as follows: 'You are Kepha [meaning Rock, Simon Peter's nickname], and on this kepha [meaning foundation rock] I will build my church . . .' (2) When this came to be translated into Greek, there was a problem. The word petros was already in use as a reference to Peter, so that had to be used to translate the first kepha. However, this word would have looked strange or even wrong as a reference to a foundation rock. So the similar word petra, which could easily refer to a foundation rock, was used to translate the second kepha. And the saying became: 'You are Petros [meaning Rock, Simon Peter's nickname], and on this petra [meaning foundation rock] I will build my church . . .' So both petros and petra refer to Peter, and Jesus is saying how greatly he will use Peter in the early years of the church. Different Greek words were needed to translate from Aramaic to Greek, hence the presence of both petros and petra in the Greek text. Peter is the rock in view, but not as Catholics understand it.

I was given a pure white light key in a dream. I carry it in my belt. I was running down a mountain and there were prisoners that wanted to grab me but the wardens told them they couldn't touch me because I was trained. In a separate dream I saw a boy running on top of a large rock. Like one you would see maybe on a beach. Very long and large. He stopped running and was looking at something. I looked to see what he was looking at. It was a giant creature with many arms. Many people who were walking on sand willingly walked towards the creature. They started eating bread that was coming out of it. The arms then started sucking the souls out of these people. They were still alive but they looked dead. I turned back and looked at the boy and he was talking to a younger boy and he said they are eating false Manna don't know it. Then the creature saw him and came towards him. He was still on the rock and crouched down almost like in prayer. He pulled out a shield that had a crab type symbol on it. It opened up and completely covered his entire body. You couldn't even see his feet. Then the dream ended. Pressing into find what these dreams mean 🙏

@@barneyroberts668 hi...thats quite a document you got goin there. Salvation by Faith by grace alone was not available to israel in the old covenant. They did not live in the dispensation of grace but had a righteousness by obedience to the law. Rolling up the old covenant ten commandments with the dispensation of grace given to Paul by the risen christ is not understanding the gospel that saves today. You could not say to the lost sheep of israel to be dead to the law mate! Hope that provides some interest and more enquiry.
Having the keys is having the knowledge to get to the kingdom and helping people get to heaven. Jesus said He is the rock . Follow the conversation. Peter is the small rock and Jesus is the big rock. Look at Peters life after this conversation.
You're mistaken. Peter is Cephas (Arabic for rock). Jesus spoke Arabic John 1:42. 1 Cor 1:12; 1 Cor 9:5; 1 Cor 15:5, Galatians 2:9. Simon -> becomes "Cephas". That's Aramaic (which once again, Jesus was speaking in). Matthew wrote in Greek aka NOT Aramaic. Jesus called Simon bar Jonah -> Cephas (Rock) aka not pebble. You might object and say well then why in the greek Matthew 16:18 does it say PetrOs (for "peter") and PetrAs (for on this "rock") ? its because of language! Peter is a male. if you were to call a man named stephen, "stephanie", wouldnt you be upset? In GREEK, "Peter" means pebble. But Jesus wasn't speaking in greek. (Matthew though, wrote in greek due to the major greek influence.) (and if you didn't know, Caesarea Philippi (named after Philip, one of the 4 rulers after Herod died, naming his territory after caesar and himself) was an archeological sight for idols. Pan, Zeus, etc... it was also commonly known literally as "the gates of the underworld/hades". Let me paint you a picture of what happens in matthew 16:13-19. Jesus takes his disciples to Caesarea Philippi. Stands near the cave (that spewed water from a spring that fed the jordan) was used for child sacrifice to pan. As well as the other areas for idolatry, (court of pan, temple of Zeus, upper tomb temple (for public sex), lower tomb temple... (also for public sex)) And Jesus is standing there with them with all these idols in the background and asks the disciples, who do people say I(Jesus) am? Some disciples respond with Elijah, John the baptist, Jeremiah, or a prophet. Then Jesus says, "But who do YOU say I am? Simon tells Jesus who He is... then Jesus tells Simon who Simon is! (Cephas!) Remember, Jesus has a reason why He took them there and asked them what people say vs what they(Simon) think. Jesus then renames Simon Cephas (rock) and on this Cephas (rock) I will build my church and the "gates of the underworld/hates" aka the area they are in, won't prevail against it. Also gate back then meant defensive. So Jesus is telling Cephas that He's building a church, and He wants them to go on the offense and spread the gospel/teachings etc. Jesus then gives Cephas (Peter) (Rock aka not pebble) the KeyS to the kingdom of heaven. -> Isaiah 22:22 reference! ( if your bible references Rev 3:7, cool, go look where rev 3:7 is referencing... (its Isaiah 22:22). Lss Jesus is giving Cephas (Peter) the keys. Not the 12 disciples (not to be confused with matt 18:18) and gives Cephas (Peter) the authority to bind and loose things on earth and in heaven as well. Bind = to forbid with indisputable authority, Loose = to permit with indisputable authority. Thing to focus on is who did Jesus gave the keys to. Just like in Isaiah 22! Authority was passed down from Shebna to Eliakim! Just like Jesus is passing down authority to Cephas (Peter). (read Isaiah 22:15-25). This (matt 16:19) was the start of the papacy. :) And you can trace every pope back all the way to Peter! (because Peter was the first). I felt like God wanted me to share that with someone. Jesus, as the Son of David, establishes his Church according to the Davidic Kingdom. In the OT Davidic Kingdom, there was an office of the steward/prime minister who's role was to attend to the king's affairs in the king's absence. The steward held the keys to the kingdom and acted under the authority of the king. In Mathew 16:18-19, Jesus, the eternal Davidic King, entrusts the keys to the kingdom to Peter and this gesture identifies Peter as the new steward/prime minister. Jesus ascends to the throne of David and leaves behind Peter to attend to His Church until the eternal Davidic King returns (second coming).

Jesus had 12 Apostles which were picked by him to rule over His Church after He ascended into heaven. The Davidic Kingdom also had a prime minister who had the absolute authority of the King. In Isaiah 22:15-24 God is angry with his prime minister Shebna, and will replace him with Eliakim, who will be given the keys to the Kingdom, and will have the power to open and shut, who will be a father figure to his people, and who will be a sure peg on a throne of honor to his father. The whole weight of his father’s house shall rest on him. Jesus gave Peter the keys to the Kingdom of God (Mathew 16:18-19), a symbol of authority prefigured by Eliakim in the OT. Peter and his successors have the power to bind and loose (open and shut) in the name of Jesus, from Matthew 18:18. The entire weight of the Catholic Church rests on the Pope and his teachings, just like the entire weight of David's house rested on Eliakim.

When Jesus entrusted the keys of the kingdom to Peter, He identified Peter as His steward (prime minister) in accordance with the Davidic Kingdom. In Mathew 18, Jesus gave authority to all the apostles but only Peter held the keys. In other words, Peter held the primacy and the other apostles had authority but were under Jesus. All of this is in accordance with the Davidic Kingdom.

Therefore, if that is TRUE, all denominations of Protestant Churches are at the mercy of RCC/GOC thru their Power and Authority of EXCOMMUNICATION... Any reaction from the Protestants about this matter?... Were this Power and Authority given by Christ including the KEYS to the GATE of Heaven, DIED along with Simon Peter in his grave?... Logically speaking... if Peter's Declaration, "Thou are the Messiah, the Son of the Living God." (ref. Matt. 16:16)... are the "KEYS," according to the interpretation of the Protestant Pastors/Preachers.. then, WHY would Christ give/entrust back the Declaration (KEYS) to Peter?... It's not a physical key, as you make it sound. It a spiritual key to a spiritual kingdom. The only key to the Kingdom of Heaven is the gospell. No one can get saved without first hearing it, then receiving it. Then we receive Holy Spirit Baptism can. As we go to his word, Christ can open many spiritual truths and give us spiritual food to our hearts content. That's why Peter wasn't the only one who got a key and the only one to pass on that key. All the apostles were given the same key and we have the same. No copy or duplicate, but the genuine key. Also. That's why Catholicism is wrong on all counts
THE KINGDOM OF "HEAVEN" JUST MEANS THE KINGDOM OF GOD, ON EARTH...INSIDE PEOPLE, NOW! In the Gospels, the phrase "Kingdom of HEAVEN" was just another way of saying "Kingdom of GOD." Jews often substituted the word "Heaven," the place where God lives, in place of the word "God," because they felt it was irreverent to say "God." But so many Christians who read the expression "Kingdom of Heaven" think it's talking about entering the PLACE called "Heaven," when it's simply referring to the theocratic government ON EARTH that most of the Jews of Jesus' day believed God would re-establish in Israel by sending a special king to set them free from the Romans--the Messiah. To make things worse, many Neo Evangelical preachers and teachers then go on to, falsely, interpret the expression "cannot enter the Kingdom of God" as if it means "going to Hell," which is a complete fallacy! "Entering" the Kingdom of God simply meant a person would become a citizen in the new, earthly, independent Jewish government, and not getting to "enter" that kingdom, just meant a person would be denied citizenship...for a time! The thing to understand is that most of the Jews of Jesus' day believed those who would not immediately get citizenship in the coming kingdom would continue to live on earth, but with a much lower social status, not too unlike the world they actually lived in where Roman citizens had many more privileges than did everyone else! Basically, they were looking forward to the tables being turned, with Jews holding the best privileges in the world, and non-Jews having their social statuses reduced. Consequently, most people would end up as peasants, at least to begin with. However, it's not as if anyone would be actively made to suffer! When we read about the religious hypocrites that Jesus criticized the most, not getting to "enter" the Kingdom, and how they'll respond by crying a lot and their teeth chattering, "weeping and gnashing their teeth," it's referring to how deeply disappointed these people will be as they are, so to speak, getting "sent out into the cold," that is, exiled...but not getting burned alive! Because they, for their great outward piety, anticipated getting not only citizenship but many other rewards, such as appointments to prestigious government jobs, they will be shocked to learn "sinners and publicans" will get their "green cards" long before they do...though Jesus never condemned them to eternal exile...he just said they would be the LAST to get their citizenship requests approved, once they show their hearts have really changed. Of course, the REAL question is whether Jesus, himself, believed in the popular idea of his day about a literal Jewish government taking over the world, and the answer seems likely to be, "No!" Toward the end of his public ministry, he began to let it be known what he believed was the REAL "Kingdom," a place inside the hearts and minds of PEOPLE (Luke 17:20-21) who had embraced his message of personal change, to reject leading lives of hurting others to embrace the joyous life of doing good and helping the suffering! Wrong. Read again, - whatever you (peter) bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you (peter) loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. The keys of the kingdom of heaven is not the key of knowledge. Peter is the apostle for the Jews, it is only until his time. Jesus said to him (one of the criminal), Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise. Lk23:43 - therefore Jesus authorized peter to decide who can enter the kingdom of heaven.
It can't mean that Peter gets to decide who enters the kingdom of heaven. The New Testament is full of teaching that those who have faith in Christ enter.
You are actually correct in that Peter decided who (which group) would have authority to enter the kingdom. So who did he choose. First, individual Jews. Then the Samaritans and finally the gentiles. So Peter released the kingdom to all people on earth who qualify.

The answer is in Luke 11:52 "Woe to you experts in the law! You have taken away the key to knowledge. You didn’t go in yourselves, and you hindered those who were trying to go in."
The keys are Simply the knowledge of God. If you Don't have knowledge of God, you stay out of the Kingdom.
And have the knowledge, it's not Simply knowing verses, the knowledge it's that:
"The revelation of your words brings light and gives understanding to the inexperienced." (psalm 119:130)
the revelation of the Word is the real knowledge.
Because the Word is entirely written by the prophets, and prophets have spoken in parables (hosea 12:10), so the entire Bible is in parables, and revelation of these parables give us the real thought of God, give us light and life, and allows us to enter the Kingdom.

I do believe that the word of God could be a Key but there are true keys in the Kingdom of God. One being forgiveness I know. To say that only the word would be a key would go against the authority.

I have been studying this myself and from what I've found within the modern day scribe's is that in the old testament times people would have to God to priests to sacrifice in order to come to God with questions and prayers. And in those days the people would ask the priests to interpret the Bible for them so they come keep God's commandments. Well now through repentance and receiving the Holy Spirit we can come to God and understand the Bible for ourselves therefore giving us the keys of the Kingdom of God.

The doctrine of OSAS and Lordship salvation is a perfect example of the distortion of the word that causes the truth to be bound and false doctrine released. To spirit rebirth repentance, baptism, and grace is all you need. To soul salvation/sanctification is not necessary and flies in the face of saved by faith alone in Christ alone. Then the Kingdom of God is distorted to the point that it is here and now and the church controls it/expands it because its in your heart. then the judgement seat of Christ is for rewards only, so dont worry about it because every believer is the bride of Christ.

In the old Testament, God knew The people weren't able to keep the Whole Law, so once a year, they went up to the High Priest to sacrifice an acceptable animal by placing their hands on the head of the animal, thus tranferring symbolically their sin onto the animal i.e. Scapegoat!! Killing the animal..the shedding of the Blood to atone for the sin..and burning the flesh on the alter!! All foreshadowing what was to come!! From Leo: No stretch, look it up, read the chapter in context. Matthew Chapter 18 begins with JESUS addressing the Disciples. It does not prescribe a change of audience, vs. 18 is still all the disciples. I have lots of Bibles, but am reading out of the ST. Joseph New American Bible published by Catholic Book Publishing. If we take a careful look at both the 1st and 2nd epistle of ST. Peter, we see no where does he differentiate his calling from ours. I Peter 2:9 says that the readers of his Epistle,, are a royal priesthood, not just Peter. May GOD bless you in your studies.

I disagree about what the rock is on which the church is built. It is surely Peter, although the saying doesn't mean that Peter is a foundation of the church in a technical sense. We could paraphrase: 'Peter, I am going to use you massively in the early stages of building my church.'
Catholics are wrong to see any reference to papal succession here, but it is equally wrong to say that Peter isn't the rock at all.
If we posit that the original saying used the Aramaic word kepha twice - 'You are Kepha and on this kepha I will build my church' - then there are good reasons for thinking that the best way of translating this into Greek is: 'You are Petros and on this petra I will build my church'.
The reason why petros isn't used twice is because in the first century petros was almost never used as a common noun and also it seems that this word may well have never been used to refer to a foundation stone. Hence different words (petros and petra) were needed in the Greek translation, although this apparently wouldn't have been the case in the original Aramaic (kepha twice).
I get your point my brother :) but you must also know the context of the passage. Jesus and his disciples were at caeserea philippi (stood only 25 miles from religious communities of galilee) when they had the dialogue. At Caesarea Philippi, Jesus and his disciples were standing in front of the largest rock formation in Israel with pagan statues and at least fourteen temples in the background. If you look up info about this place, you will see its actually a massive bedrock where the pagans also worshiped the idol Pan (also the centrAl baal worship place of the canaanites in the OT) . In fact its the religious center among greek pagans for Pan, so they named it Panias in his honor, before Herod philip rebuilt the city and named it after himself. Theres also a cave in the setting where the pagans believed to gave been the gate to the underworld, where fertility gods lived... aNd the water that flows from it is a symbol of the underworld and believed that the gods travel to and from the underworld thorugh caves. Therefore both the water and the cave created a gate to the unserworld. Pagans conduct detestable activities such as prostitution and sexual interaction btween humans and goats in order to entice the returns of these gods each year. Standing as they were at a literal “gates of hell” in a massive bedrock in caeserea philippi, i believe Jesus was intentional when he said “and upon this rock (petra, see concordance at strong #G4073) i will build my church and the GATES OF HELL Will not overcome it”. Moreover, Jesus had given Simon a nickname, “Petros,” meaning a single stone. “Petra,” the term Jesus used for his future church, means a massive rock or formation; fixed, immovable, enduring.

You are right that the dialogue in Matt 16:17-20 takes place at Caesarea Philippi. I'm not sure how much of an allusion there is in the dialogue to the rock formations and pagan rituals at Caesarea Philippi in the saying of v. 18. But even if you are right about that, it doesn't affect my point.
You say that petra is used for Jesus' future church. Actually, Jesus says that the church will be built ON the petra. So the petra must refer to something other than the church, and I believe it refers to Peter.
I think the following happened:
(1) In the original Aramaic of Jesus' saying the same word, kepha, was used twice, because this word could be used for any kind of rock including a foundation rock. So the saying was a play on words that went as follows:
'You are Kepha [meaning Rock, Simon Peter's nickname], and on this kepha [meaning foundation rock] I will build my church . . .'
(2) When this came to be translated into Greek, there was a problem. The word petros was already in use as a reference to Peter, so that had to be used to translate the first kepha. However, this word would have looked strange or even wrong as a reference to a foundation rock. So the similar word petra, which could easily refer to a foundation rock, was used to translate the second kepha. And the saying became:
'You are Petros [meaning Rock, Simon Peter's nickname], and on this petra [meaning foundation rock] I will build my church . . .'
So both petros and petra refer to Peter, and Jesus is saying how greatly he will use Peter in the early years of the church.

Different Greek words were needed to translate from Aramaic to Greek, hence the presence of both petros and petra in the Greek text. Peter is the rock in view, but not as Catholics understand it.

I was given a pure white light key in a dream. I carry it in my belt.
I was running down a mountain and there were prisoners that wanted to grab me but the wardens told them they couldn't touch me because I was trained.
In a separate dream I saw a boy running on top of a large rock. Like one you would see maybe on a beach. Very long and large. He stopped running and was looking at something. I looked to see what he was looking at. It was a giant creature with many arms. Many people who were walking on sand willingly walked towards the creature. They started eating bread that was coming out of it. The arms then started sucking the souls out of these people. They were still alive but they looked dead.
I turned back and looked at the boy and he was talking to a younger boy and he said they are eating false Manna don't know it. Then the creature saw him and came towards him. He was still on the rock and crouched down almost like in prayer. He pulled out a shield that had a crab type symbol on it. It opened up and completely covered his entire body. You couldn't even see his feet.
Then the dream ended.

They did not live in the dispensation of grace but had a righteousness by obedience to the law.

Having the keys is having the knowledge to get to the kingdom and helping people get to heaven. Jesus said He is the rock . Follow the conversation. Peter is the small rock and Jesus is the big rock. Look at Peters life after this conversation.

You're mistaken. Peter is Cephas (Arabic for rock). Jesus spoke Arabic
John 1:42. 1 Cor 1:12; 1 Cor 9:5; 1 Cor 15:5, Galatians 2:9. Simon -> becomes "Cephas". That's Aramaic (which once again, Jesus was speaking in). Matthew wrote in Greek aka NOT Aramaic. Jesus called Simon bar Jonah -> Cephas (Rock) aka not pebble.
You might object and say well then why in the greek Matthew 16:18 does it say PetrOs (for "peter") and PetrAs (for on this "rock") ? its because of language! Peter is a male. if you were to call a man named stephen, "stephanie", wouldnt you be upset? In GREEK, "Peter" means pebble. But Jesus wasn't speaking in greek. (Matthew though, wrote in greek due to the major greek influence.)
(and if you didn't know, Caesarea Philippi (named after Philip, one of the 4 rulers after Herod died, naming his territory after caesar and himself) was an archeological sight for idols. Pan, Zeus, etc... it was also commonly known literally as "the gates of the underworld/hades".
Let me paint you a picture of what happens in matthew 16:13-19.
Jesus takes his disciples to Caesarea Philippi. Stands near the cave (that spewed water from a spring that fed the jordan) was used for child sacrifice to pan. As well as the other areas for idolatry, (court of pan, temple of Zeus, upper tomb temple (for public sex), lower tomb temple... (also for public sex)) And Jesus is standing there with them with all these idols in the background and asks the disciples, who do people say I(Jesus) am? Some disciples respond with Elijah, John the baptist, Jeremiah, or a prophet. Then Jesus says, "But who do YOU say I am? Simon tells Jesus who He is... then Jesus tells Simon who Simon is! (Cephas!) Remember, Jesus has a reason why He took them there and asked them what people say vs what they(Simon) think. Jesus then renames Simon Cephas (rock) and on this Cephas (rock) I will build my church and the "gates of the underworld/hates" aka the area they are in, won't prevail against it. Also gate back then meant defensive. So Jesus is telling Cephas that He's building a church, and He wants them to go on the offense and spread the gospel/teachings etc. Jesus then gives Cephas (Peter) (Rock aka not pebble) the KeyS to the kingdom of heaven. -> Isaiah 22:22 reference! ( if your bible references Rev 3:7, cool, go look where rev 3:7 is referencing... (its Isaiah 22:22). Lss Jesus is giving Cephas (Peter) the keys. Not the 12 disciples (not to be confused with matt 18:18) and gives Cephas (Peter) the authority to bind and loose things on earth and in heaven as well. Bind = to forbid with indisputable authority, Loose = to permit with indisputable authority. Thing to focus on is who did Jesus gave the keys to. Just like in Isaiah 22! Authority was passed down from Shebna to Eliakim! Just like Jesus is passing down authority to Cephas (Peter). (read Isaiah 22:15-25). This (matt 16:19) was the start of the papacy. :) And you can trace every pope back all the way to Peter! (because Peter was the first). I felt like God wanted me to share that with someone. Jesus, as the Son of David, establishes his Church according to the Davidic Kingdom. In the OT Davidic Kingdom, there was an office of the steward/prime minister who's role was to attend to the king's affairs in the king's absence. The steward held the keys to the kingdom and acted under the authority of the king. In Mathew 16:18-19, Jesus, the eternal Davidic King, entrusts the keys to the kingdom to Peter and this gesture identifies Peter as the new steward/prime minister.
Jesus ascends to the throne of David and leaves behind Peter to attend to His Church until the eternal Davidic King returns (second coming).

Nope, Christ Jesus was not talking to ALL Apostles, just to Simon Peter... Christ Jesus used the pronoun "YOU" which is singular, not plural... God the Father (YHWH) had chosen Simon Bar (bin) Jonah (Peter) to reveal the true identity of Christ as the "SON of the Living God," that was why the KEYS to the Kingdom of Heaven was given to him alone, not to all apostles...

It's not a physical key, as you make it sound. It a spiritual key to a spiritual kingdom. The only key to the Kingdom of Heaven is the gospell.
No one can get saved without first hearing it, then receiving it.
Then we receive Holy Spirit Baptism can. As we go to his word, Christ can open many spiritual truths and give us spiritual food to our hearts content.
That's why Peter wasn't the only one who got a key and the only one to pass on that key. All the apostles were given the same key and we have the same.
No copy or duplicate, but the genuine key. Also. That's why Catholicism is wrong on all counts
THE KINGDOM OF "HEAVEN" JUST MEANS THE KINGDOM OF GOD, ON EARTH...INSIDE PEOPLE, NOW!
In the Gospels, the phrase "Kingdom of HEAVEN" was just another way of saying "Kingdom of GOD." Jews often substituted the word "Heaven," the place where God lives, in place of the word "God," because they felt it was irreverent to say "God."
But so many Christians who read the expression "Kingdom of Heaven" think it's talking about entering the PLACE called "Heaven," when it's simply referring to the theocratic government ON EARTH that most of the Jews of Jesus' day believed God would re-establish in Israel by sending a special king to set them free from the Romans--the Messiah.
To make things worse, many Neo Evangelical preachers and teachers then go on to, falsely, interpret the expression "cannot enter the Kingdom of God" as if it means "going to Hell," which is a complete fallacy!
"Entering" the Kingdom of God simply meant a person would become a citizen in the new, earthly, independent Jewish government, and not getting to "enter" that kingdom, just meant a person would be denied citizenship...for a time!
The thing to understand is that most of the Jews of Jesus' day believed those who would not immediately get citizenship in the coming kingdom would continue to live on earth, but with a much lower social status, not too unlike the world they actually lived in where Roman citizens had many more privileges than did everyone else! Basically, they were looking forward to the tables being turned, with Jews holding the best privileges in the world, and non-Jews having their social statuses reduced. Consequently, most people would end up as peasants, at least to begin with.
However, it's not as if anyone would be actively made to suffer! When we read about the religious hypocrites that Jesus criticized the most, not getting to "enter" the Kingdom, and how they'll respond by crying a lot and their teeth chattering, "weeping and gnashing their teeth," it's referring to how deeply disappointed these people will be as they are, so to speak, getting "sent out into the cold," that is, exiled...but not getting burned alive!
Because they, for their great outward piety, anticipated getting not only citizenship but many other rewards, such as appointments to prestigious government jobs, they will be shocked to learn "sinners and publicans" will get their "green cards" long before they do...though Jesus never condemned them to eternal exile...he just said they would be the LAST to get their citizenship requests approved, once they show their hearts have really changed.
Of course, the REAL question is whether Jesus, himself, believed in the popular idea of his day about a literal Jewish government taking over the world, and the answer seems likely to be, "No!" Toward the end of his public ministry, he began to let it be known what he believed was the REAL "Kingdom," a place inside the hearts and minds of PEOPLE (Luke 17:20-21) who had embraced his message of personal change, to reject leading lives of hurting others to embrace the joyous life of doing good and helping the suffering!

Wrong. Read again, - whatever you (peter) bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you (peter) loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. The keys of the kingdom of heaven is not the key of knowledge.
Peter is the apostle for the Jews, it is only until his time.
Jesus said to him (one of the criminal), Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise. Lk23:43 - therefore Jesus authorized peter to decide who can enter the kingdom of heaven.
It can't mean that Peter gets to decide who enters the kingdom of heaven. The New Testament is full of teaching that those who have faith in Christ enter.
You are actually correct in that Peter decided who (which group) would have authority to enter the kingdom. So who did he choose. First, individual Jews. Then the Samaritans and finally the gentiles. So Peter released the kingdom to all people on earth who qualify.
