  • Mae Kampong has become the trendiest destination in Chiang Mai Province.
    For those of us who cannot stomach the more than 700 turns up the mountain to Pai (like me), I find Mae Kampong's beautiful mountain village a worthwhile excursion outside of Chiang Mai City.
    From the internet, I could not find much details on how to get there by public transport. So if you are a solo traveler like me, e.g., who cannot drive a car, nor have the skills to ride a moped -- this video may help you to plan, and take the public transport to Mae Kampong, from Chiang Mai City.
    In a nutshell, the best way to get from Chiang Mai to Mae Kampong, without a car, is to take a minivan which takes slightly over an hour, and costs ฿150 each way.
    Let's take a ride together!

    could you share the booking website for the minivan?

      Hi Evelyn, they only have a Facebook page, facebook.com/Van.maekampong.hotsprings/. I heard that they take bookings if you send them your requirements via Facebook messenger too. But the guaranteed way would be to visit Station 1 or Station 2, near Chiang Mai Warorot Market to secure your tickets, especially if it is peak season.

      @@vonmeetsworld by the any chance would you know about any transportation from Mae Kampong to Lampang?

    • @vonmeetsworld
      @vonmeetsworld  8 месяцев назад

      @TemProduction, I don’t know if there are any public buses that go directly from Mae Kampong village to Lampang city. You may need to make your way to the nearest town closest to Mae Kampong village (eg Chiang Mai), to get on a public bus to Lampang. Alternatively, you can check with Green Bus, the company that operates long distance buses in Northern Thailand.
