This is one of the benefits of having your own transportation. You stop at these kind of places and “ discover “ awesome places. Have been coming to Thailand for 20 years- driven all over. My Thai wife and I will “ retire” 2-3 months a year in Thailand. Some want to build a nice home in a location- I caution against this as renting is the way to go and very reasonable. Stay in the mountains for a month, stay near the beach for a month. Pick different areas and discover.

Although I am still traveling in a way as I’m doing day trips in England 🏴 going to places I love and some I’ve never been to. This place is very popular with Thais and foreign tourists alike. Its busiest season is Nov-Jan when the weather is cool. Walking along this village at night is so relaxing and enjoyable when the weather is cool/cold.

I was I mae kampong in January, it’s probably one of my favourite places to visit in all of Thailand, exercise is the key word, be prepared to climb climb climb. 👍

Hidden gem. The drive up is nice and spoiled for choice for accomodation. There are baht buses that can take you from the main village up the hill or to the waterfall.
For those that are fit, I highly recommend a trek up the waterfall in a dry period of the rainy season.

Perfect I am waiting for my fly from Bangkok to Chiang Mai. 35 hours flying arrival evening no clue where to go get food . Lot of to learn!

Your in Thailand, food everywhere. One of the things I love about visiting is the street food. Sitting at a little table on a sidewalk savoring a bowl of noodle soup.
@@travelingmike40 yes i am aware of street food I just have to find out right or left to turn from my accommodation.. brand new to the city living where locals are not tourist area.

Mae Kampong is a beautiful village. The weather is cool all year long. I was there in June, 2018. I am not sure why I didn't see that Treehouse restaurant and the last place you went. I will have to go there next time when I am in Chiang Mai. Thanks 🙏

Not surprised, there are so many places like that all around Tland ! Could be dangerous though, does Thai medical cover blown minds ? Or if your breath is taken away would a hospital be nearby ? Your right if it was in North Carolina it would be packed. But then again it would never be built using scaffolding uprights so far apart to support those bridge walkways....that as it is would never pass building codes 😉 But as you say it is beautiful & we love such places in Thailand. But as always in Thailand please be careful your on your own 😉
Hi , of the topic question, today on Chiang Mai I have been to 4 banks to open a bank account on a turist visawith the purpose to deposit 800 000Thb for retirement visa application. I was denied, no bank account opened on turist visa it is possible was the answer.. Any solution to my problem & Please he. Thank you
Yes, use a Visa service. They know people in the bank and you will be able to open one. Yes things really work like this. 👍
