At 49:00 you had lethal by playing Rally. They are still forced to block 2 1/1s, and because the Rohirrim will have 1 damage on it from blocking you can cast Downfall for only [B] for the kill. Didn't end up mattering since you won next turn, but still important to notice in case there was a way out for them after drawing 3 next turn with Scroll. edit: nvm not forced my b, they could go to 1 without blocking on Rohirrim, missed that! and since Downfall was known information they could account for it.
Thank you so much for explaining your thought process while drafting, that helps improve my drafting significantly for a set when I watch your videos because of that.
At 41:16 you cast lash of the Balrog for full price. I think you could have instead cast grishnakh stolen the crebane or better yet the orc army attacked them with it then sac'd it to lash shooting the knight.
32:00 they are always going to mill the first and second time with palantir so even if you need lands you have to bottom the lands. later when they can't afford to mill you top them.
The temptation to go fun versus good. That’s why mark rosewater said in his game development speech that the fun thing to do and the right thing to do should be the same thing. The irony is that magic doesn’t really do that.
I thought the same until I played a quick draft match against an opponent with 2 orcish bowmasters and Faramir, prince of ithilian. I only saw 22 cards from their deck, so who knows what other incredible cards they had access to
I think every player mills the first 2 rounds of Palantir and then has to give you the draw for the rest of the game. They might mill more rounds if you have exactly zero pressure.
I did give them draw immediately when I had Bowmaster once, and 2 turns later had them mill 3 for 4+5+6 dmg after only topping 1. So there are outliers
I wonder what the one passing Palantir were thinking and drafting instead of it... I think The Fell Beast might have been a slight mistake - perhap Oliphant would have been better. Just think of in how many situations one is better than the other.. Especially with the Swarming of Morias - pretty important to get that mountain..
Anyone know if they are doing a MOM alchemy set like they have been doing or did LOTR take its place? I usually don’t care for those mid set alchemy versions, but I kinda miss MOMmy
It's basically required for scry decks as a scry battery each turn. About the only thing that can kickstart that mediocre nightmare outside of constructed.
The citadel tempts you
AT around 25:00 you could have bowmastered the Kingfisher, forced them to draw, then hit the army for better value.
Love that first Orb game teaching Num how the card usually plays out (they mill until they take one massive hit, then it’s draws all the way)
i think he misused this card
i drafted it a lot
you should always scry away lands and cheap spells op will let you draw after the 3rd trigger.

looks like he forgot grishnakh was a legendary?
in fact he realized his mistake at 44:00
38:30 damn that was a nice play I never would have saw
Éowyn being one of the few clean answers to the Witch King is real nice flavour.

if they have decent life they will probably mill #3 too
Bowmasters is pretty crazy. First time drafting it today. They cast lothlorien revealed and you get to take down a 4/4 out of nowhere. Pretty sick.
Thanks for the daily entertainment. Much appreciated.

Short answer - yes.
Edit - who the hell pass Palantir?!
Came here to wright this.
The difference between premium draft and quick draft, as far as the quality of the cards being opened is considered, is huge...

6:38 Freudian slip

And think of the Palantir with the landcyclers.. So you want a land .. landcycler is good. And if the opponent mills - 6 damage.. :)
I went to a jumpstart event at my LGS and pulled bowmaster and nazgul lol. My deck was so absurd i felt bad for my oppos

12:09 is it s̶e̶c̶r̶e̶t̶ smart? Is it safe?!
Yeah I still was surprised he passed the radaghast
Could made easy 7-0 if he topped cards with palantir on the 7th match
Here comes a fatty! ~opponent plays frodo~
The answer is yes... Nice card to draft!
how is it you only seem to play against people who play like this is their first draft ever, when you're in mythic?
We’ve had 1st good game yes, but what about second good game?
definitely insane. up like 160% ytd.
Imagine trying to make money on MTG
Gorbag is not good but def playable and I only play Bats with Trebuchets.
Why does nearly nobody ever try green. You also prefered in 16 picks most black cards :/
PLTR to the moon!!!🚀🚀🚀
7:10 ruclips.net/video/bSsbmaJ-Qoo/видео.html You got a 3rd pick bowmasters in your first draft of the format
early access doesnt count!
Good game😂
Kenji drafts Orcish Bowmasters. I click like.
i have one in draft and never lose vhen palantir is on table :) i think is most opcard in set :)
Eomer is a 2/1 and the horse is a 3/3/ ah ah
My first MTGA draft had 6 crevains but no bombs and i got crushed
