DIY Honda Fit LED Door Sill Install

- Installed my LED door sill on my Honda Fit. Follow these same steps on the driver side and tap the wire to the same dome light wires.
Pink + positive source and Blue is the - negative (ground). I highly suggest you unplug the wire harness for the pink and blue dome light wires before you try tapping wires to them.

Nice video, picking some up in a couple of days. But plan on drilling through metal where the mounding goes over to hide the wire. Thanks for the information about the rear wires not being long enough and where to run the wires to the dope lights.

I purchased the door sill on eBay. They do make them for all makes and model. Just search on their for door sill led for your car.

I have a link to the guy in Japan I think that has done the door handles. I will try and take some as well. I just ordered the LEDs.
I did the winkers in my mirrors a couple years ago. Again I have the link.
Thanks and post up pics on the forum when you do the door handles. I've been thinking about doing that as well.

I just bought some door sills for my 2018 Honda Fit. The LED looks cool, but I decided to get the non-LED door sills.
Don't mind me saying so, but you should invest on a head Camera. It will really work well for you. I'm installing some sills on my CHevy HHr 2008LT. Can't seem to find a power source that will turn on/off when the door closes. What should you suggest?

When the key is swithced off, will the light go off also even the doors are open? Mine is exactly like that , and i worry becauase the light wont go off even i press the door sensor when key is off. But when the key is on, the light functions properly, pls help me.
Levie Rodriguez the light is suppose to stay on. It will turn off when you have all the doors closed and lock the car or at the same time the dome light fades out.

how do you disassemble the connection from the front door sill so you can wire the back door sill to it. you talk about it at 12:35, but just show the finished product. I have the same type of connections for my corolla but am stuck.
You take a small flat head screw driver and push the 2 metal slot and you should be able to pull it apart. However, I remember it was difficult to combine the 2 positive and 2 negative wires back into the slot. You can just cut the connector and just solder/spice all wires together and just bypass the connector all together.
DIY: Car Modz ok, i don't have the tools to solder so i will just use that connector. Also, At the end to complete the connection you tap the wire into the pink and blue wires. I have a 2014 corolla so obviously the wires are different. Do you know which colored wires I should tap into. I even tried calling a couple toyota dealers and they have no idea how. Cant find any info for this on the internet. Or do you have advice on how to locate the correct wires?

Hello, is the negative side (black wire) of the sill should be grounded to the car also connected to the blue wire in fuse box at the same time?
Power and Ground goes tot he 2 wires I explain in this video. I believe the wires I'm tapping are negative switched.

Where did you connect the live wire?
There is a pink and blue wire near the end of the video that he tapped into. Pink being positive(red) and blue being ground .

It is on the same circuit/timer as the dome light.

Yes, each door sensor will have 1 wire. You just connect that to the positive wire and ground the other wire.

You went to a awful lot of trouble just to fit those, all you had to do was wire them to the door button that's in the door sill when you open it.

Sometimes the obvious solution is not always thought about until it's too late. I agree the door button would have been much quicker, it's the way I would do it.
