As smartphones become more popular, people want to find ways to integrate them with their vehicle. One of the best ways to do this is with Viper SmartStart or Compy Start Drone. You can start your car from almost any distance. You can monitor your security system from almost any distance. And you can ensure your doors are locked. A lot of these units feature GPS tracking, so you can check the location of your car at will. If you have children that drive your car or if you lent your car to somebody, this is a great feature because you can tell where it is. These apps typically have a yearly charge - very affordable - usually about 40 dollars a year. This gives you full access to GPS tracking and allows you to start the vehicle from anywhere. A great example I like to use is you're going to college, and it's a fifteen minute walk to your car. It's freezing cold out, you start your car when you hear the bell ring, you walk to it, you get in, and it's toasty. They can be added to almost any car that allows remote start and they give you an unprecedented level of security.
I'm trying to find something that will send a notification to my phone if my car alarm is going off. Unfortunately, I often have to park too far from home to hear it and end up with a dead battery.

Can i use this just to spite my nosy neighbors. They keep turning on their car alarm that is parked in the side of my house and wakes me up. Im kinda jumpy now and i keep waking up to their annoying car noise. Bad neighbors here nosy ones been years now. So can i use this app and hack their car alarm and use it to annoy them too

in the event I am asleep and someone is in the process of breaking in, will it alert my Iphone instantly? I had my Chevy Silverado stolen a month ago right out of my driveway. Reported it stolen at 630am, and 9am the police found it due to Lo-jack that was installed on the truck. Luckily we got it back in time before major damage but Im afraid the crooks would come back for it again. In the mean time it will be garage kept when we get it back this week. Jeeze what a nightmare.

Not true. You still have a key fob, and a physical key. Not any more true than "if you lose your key, you've lost your car too"

Starting your car when your not in your car is one of the most stupid things man made. What happens if a thief breaks in. He doesn't even need a key to drive off lol

+Kelly Siegel that's what I have been told but having owned my Bmw for 2 yrs(keyless) once I dropped off my partner and she had the keyless fob in her pocket & forgot to give it back to me. I drove two streets before she called me to say she still has the key
Now suppose a thief jumped into the car and drove off/ same scenario
I think it was a one off technical glitch but still- it happened which proves the car will continue to run without the key inside car
That's a keyless fob, not a remote stary, which is what this is. This means you can start the car from your house and let it warm up...if someone tries to jump in it and steps on the break, the car will automatically turn off. On a car with a key ignition you would have to have the key in and turned to drive. In a car with a fob the fob would have to be in the car when you started driving.
