I think the distinction that needs to be made is that the LARQ water bottle is good for sterilizing water, ie killing bateria, but does not purify water, ie remove particulates. Just choose your water source wisely such as avoiding muddied waters.

They don't filter heavy metals, and chemicals. Also make sure you use a pre-filter like a coffee filter or cloth. If any large debris can block light and shield viruses.
Just a thought but i wouldn't drink water from a static pool. What's to say there there isn't any dodgy chemicals in there? I'm sure this bottle isn't turning chemicals into safe water. PS I love the video and i still want one of these bottles but i'd be very careful what I deemed as drinkable.
Remember those micro water bears that live in the moss and water in ponds and can survive in lava for 11 seconds, in outer space for over 10 hours and without food for over 30 years??? Good luck getting rid of those without a filtering system lol.

I still use the brita pitcher and boil the water after filtering it out. If I run the tap water directly into the PureVis and it tastes exactly the same. The chlorine won’t be eliminated and so filters are still required. In my opinion: the bottle is designed to purify the already cleaned water. The only benefit is that it can auto clean the bottle to eliminate foul odors when uva is activated. Don’t think about this magic bottle will turn dirty water into clean drinkable water!

Think it’s fine as long as the water is clear. The viruses and bacteria can hide in the shadows of particulate matter so make sure to prefilter with a piece of cloth and hit it twice if it’s still a bit murky. It won’t change the taste either so take some flavored sports electrolyte mix, it’s good to have on hand regardless.
