I had a 2015 Tundra I-Force MAX 5.7L CrewCab 4x4, I was very upset to find out the new Tundras only come in V6, BUT…. Don’t let the new V6 fool you….
Comparing the V6 Twin Turbo Hybrid 4x4 to the 2015 V8 5.7L I-Force MAX 4x4 (Fully gas powered); the new V6 Tundras have much more torque, much larger towing capacity (12,500lbs) and almost triple the gas mileage (24mpg Hwy; 19-22mpg city). Only issue I have found so far between the 2015 and the 2024 Tundra is that you will need to start saving money to replace the hybrid battery in the 2024 hybrids. The batteries last anywhere from 10 to 12 years. I would highly recommend opening a bank account specifically for your hybrid battery and putting whatever you can in that bank account because you never know when that battery will go out. I declined the life time hybrid warranty as it was going to add 10k to my loan. If it makes anyone feel any better, I had a 2012 Lexus CT-200H Hybrid. It had the original battery in it, and I never had to replace it. I never had any issues with it and I was the third owner and I sold it to somebody in the military who to this day, still drives it and has not yet to have issue with the hybrid battery. That Lexus currently has 273k miles on it with the original hybrid battery. The struts went out on it, that’s about all troubles we had with the Lexus. So far, Toyota has the highest rating for hybrid batteries. They seem to last longer than other competitors.
