In all seriousness though, what a sequence. If you've not played Control, you're gonna hear people comparing that sequence to something called "The Ashtray Maze." Do yourself a favor and don't look up anything about Control before you play it. That game is special, and is what introduced the FBC to the Alan Wake universe.

I loved and hated this musical episode. Obviously, the music and production elements are amazing. Using at as a tutorial for the flaregun was a bad idea, since you lost all those audio cues AND couldn't pay attention to the song and dance during those sections. And the section before, there's so much visual stimuli, a lot of people get lost and miss the signs. I thought the idea was great, but the issues with gameplay were real problems. And that's considering other massive rock scenes in Alan Wake 1 and 2 and the Ashtray Maze in Control. Love this game, but they really messed this part up for gameplay.

I played the We Sing level a few days ago and it's still stuck in my head! Between Alan Wake, Alan Wake's American Nightmare, Control, and now Alan Wake 2 these musical sequences/fights keep getting better. Loved it!

All this music reminds me of Doctor Casper Darling's Dynamite song scene in the research laboratory of the FBC and the Ahti's Ashtray Maze mission in CONTROL! Pretty good music in that game too!
The “Take Control” song that played in the Ashtray Maze was the same band that did “Herald of Darkness” for the musical sequence in Alan Wake 2! The real life band is called Poets of the Fall, but in the games they’re called “Old Gods of Asgard”.
More than that, in-game there is a room where the FBC is doing analysis of _My Dark Disquiet_ by Poets of the Fall (complete with a static of the album cover) and another room at the very top of that section of the Oldest House where you can listen to the song in its entirety.
It's so nice to see universal love of streamers in Alans musical section. I would give anything to re-experience that moment again when i saw this spectacle first time. Happy tears also here :D So proud to be FIN.

@@LIZZgame he just rushed through the whole thing without commenting much on it probably because he was worried about it getting copyrighted. it's understandable but it's such a great moment in gaming and all he could think about was his monetization on a single video lol. he's a big youtuber too so he's not struggling or anything. it was actually such a buzz kill. i've been looking up reactions all day because i absolutely love this section. But thank you for your reaction. it is at least top 3 for sure LOL
