It was good time for all the friends of motor sport, and in particular for evo 4g63 fans that there is a continuous progress on this platform.
last weekend we test our Mitsubishi evo ix.
we did 1.301 60ft - 7.902 @ 298.26 - 185.34mph.
was the second try of the event and we had around 1380-1400awhp (1680-1700hp).
3rd try was with 1740awhp (2100hp) but we had clutch slip, from excessive wheel spin damage the clutch and we damage the 5th gear. So the pass was made with out 5th gear, 1.2 60ft - 8.0 @ 248 - 155mph.
Next event 20th-21th and 22nd July in Malta drag strip.

apparently sped up videos were made by some haters, i even believed it for some time when i got interested into cars and tuning but then I did more research on ET and understood stuff ;) btw, don't forget boba motoring is using their turbo(s) on his golf(s)
This one is sped up too but it's done a little better. It's sped up the second he gets on the gas and you hear the anti-lag watch here 2:04. If you watch the flags and tents on the left they start blowing at hurricane speed that very second, you can also see on the earlier run. It then returns to normal speed after to deceive you. On the last view from inside he cuts that part -out because the flags are in very clear view and the speed up would be far too obvious. Every single video they do, it's the background that gives it away.

That's the most insanely spec'd out Evo I've ever seen. That speedometer must also be hugely off because it's finishing the pulls at around 260 km/h rather than 300k!

+Ricky R actually no. displacement is static, forcing more air into a chamber won't make it bigger
L B in theory yes. But in the real world engines live and operate in atmospheric pressure, caculated at sea level, or 14.7 psi of air. Engines cannot displacement anything in space. So increasing that pressure, increases your total displacement. Another 15 psi, and you are effectively doubling your engine size.

When you shift the powerband to the right like this Evo you effectively create a motor which doesnt need displacement to make power. So its a substitute.

How come the camera aimed at the back of the car sounded like a different rpm than the inside of the car? Same as the one aimed at the gauges vs the windshield. They sound like 2 different rpm's, almost like it was sped up on the parts that couldn't show anything. Maybe I'm wrong, but it's just a little fishy to me.

Congrats to Spyros and the entire gang. However, there is no need to hate on STM or any other shop. The fact is the record was bound to be broken sooner or later. When Extreme Tuners entered the US Evo community it was around 2009. Most of there competition has moved on to different platforms such as AMS and the GTR. Sick car though, you should bring it to the DSM shootout over here across the pond.

ExtremeTuners can you please tell me what drive train you are using. My evo is pushing 450 kw with 900 nm of Torque. The last time I launched it like that I smashed the box
