- AG Autosports Evo aka "The Family Sedan" put down 1291whp making it the worlds highest horsepower Mitsubishi Evolution. We were lucky enough to go for a ride along straight off the dyno to see what this BEAST could do on the street.

Once it actually gets launched at 7k dumps its going to shatter, its not a dyno queen if its out doing pulls on road but in vid you see the needle around 7k when its about half way into spool, probs has a 2-3k wide range of boost,
Stock drivetrain normally last 700whp if your lucky on a evo with a much faster turbo band, like 5k hit till 10k, an if your doing 6-7k dumps on Stock drivetrains its going to blow,
ive had a couple evos an ive managed 600whp out of a stock drivetrain when launching,

+AJ Obama no way it's completely oem stock unless he's running 20psi or less on those runs. Like shit even a tremec 6060 for a Ford gt or viper isn't that strong.
He's getting on it the whole time...it just takes forever for the giant turbo to spool up. It's cool to see the high HP numbers, but I'd happily take a much lower HP number in exchange for a more balanced power curve.

they make almost 2000whp but can barely get into the 7's in a 1/4 while we have dsm's with 2/3 the hp doing mid to low 7's. their evo isnt making 2000whp.

I'm a diehard V8 guy but I gotta admit these 4g63 motors are amazing in the right hands. This is definitely a sweet car and super impressive on a stock driveline! 1200hp awd... the pull on that thing without wheelspin must be orgasmic. Well done, now let's see 1500!!!

My pal has his entire paseenger side of his r33 gtst custom moulded with 6 gauges in angled toward the driver. And another 4 gauges on the driver side pillar near the steering wheel. And another 3 in the top half of the centre console. You can get gauges for everything

+WhitePony is a Drag Car, the Curve is Fine for what it was Built for. 2Step of the Line 5K to 7K Cluth Dump while Building Boost Off the Line. If it was a Circut Car you'll want a Smaller Turbo for Less Lag and more Torque.

Cool, quick car. I'd hate to own it, though. Probably works as much as it doesn't, needs wrenching all the time, and feels like a total dog until 5 or 6k into the powerband, especially around town. Proof's in the pudding @ 2:11. When you have a powerband in a car that has the 5,252 rpm intersection of hp and torque at the very bottom of the graph, what you effectively have is a motorcycle powerband in a car. Not my cup of tea, but definitely an engineering feat.

Agreed. You can't drive around town at 6k+ RPM's...not much fun. I'd rather have low-end power/torque and be able to enjoy it without going 100+ MPH.
unitedgray Totally. I have a fully bolted/ethanol mix tuned/upgraded turbo Mazdaspeed 3 that puts down ~385/380 @ the wheels in good weather. I also spray WMI for extra fueling, valve cleaning (I'm direct injected, so I normally get no intake valve wash), and less power reduction during the hotter seasons (methanol keeps your boost-air temps very low - below ambient temps for me, based on my 10 gal/hour nozzle). I didn't go stupid big on the turbo, so I still have a ton of power under the curve and a lot of responsiveness (it's basically a hybrid Garrett GT2871 that flows ~43 lbs/min). That's really the key to having the power feel you want on forced induction: turbo selection. I have gobs of power from 2,500 all the way to redline, at 6,700. I usually don't go WOT until after 3k anyways to take it easy on my stock rods. But the point is that it's a blast to drive around town.
Now this EVO's top-end would annihilate me, for sure. But I still have no problem getting to 160 (and beyond) with ease, and my car's powerband is great for tracking/auto-x/etc. It's meant to be performance driven, not a dyno queen, you know? As far as a DD, I LOVE it.
But again, I'm not hating on this car; I'm amazing by their engineering skill. I just wouldn't want to DD it. Especially when I'm so spoiled/pleased with my current DD, which has been very reliable (practical wisdom is staying under 400/400 and not getting into boost under 3k/pushing tq peak beyond 4k with the EBCS will keep the stock internals happy for a very long time.) And running ethanol + WMI keeps everything well-fueled, clean, and cool in the combustion chambers. It's a great way of increasing safety margin.

I agree 100%. My daily is a tuned F-150 Ecoboost running 470HP/540FT-lbs at the crank...never actually dyno'd. I have tons of power available from 2-5k RPM's and it pulls like a freight train from 30-100 MPH. Granted it weighs 6,000 lbs, so it not gonna set the world on fire, but it's faster than most vehicles on the road.
I'm seriously considering picking up a quick little car to DD, but I'm not sure. As you said, I totally respect this feat of engineering, but it's a dyno queen more than anything else and I'm sure it hauls balls in the 1/2 mile.
unitedgray Assuming a standard 15% drivetrain loss for RWD, you're probably ~400/460 (so I'd still pull ya because of the massive weight difference ;-) ), but teasing aside, that sounds like a fun truck. And trucks have a lot of utility. I have a 4-door hatchback with a baby seat in the rear (lots of functionality). It's a sleeper too; most people think it's a regular Mazda 3, and when it takes off like a rocket, they're like WTHolyCrap is that thing?!? LOL

Bullshit, Magnus Motor Sports, a tuner shop in canada, builds evo 4G63 motors with over 1400hp. All of these "record holding" evos can all be wiped off of youtube. If you don't believe me, google it. They even custom build titanium fucking control arms that will knock 100 pounds off of your evo. You guys haven't seen what evos are capable of until you've seen the shit that this company can build.
To be fair its basically changing the 4g63 so much that it counts as a minor engine swap though no?
Negative, Magnus I believe was still a OG 4g and boosting performance is still a 2 liter mine however is not, I have a 2.1 blue printed OG 4g 2g gst eclipse with 676hp with 18 psi lol, the Evo motors are cool but they run into valve train issues for they have the vvti which isn't greatest

Sometimes but on a 4cyl a twin turbo setup doesnt make much sense. especially when a twin scroll turbo can spool so much lower than a single. just not enough egt and eg pressure to spool 2 turbos effectively without a jet turbine turbo conversion in which the exhaust side has a fuel injector in it to turn it into a jet turbine effectively. just too expensive in a nut shell lol

STM did it on a prep'd track Xtreme in Greece have Some really shitty Tracks on Airstrips the Surface aint even the Same so to Achieve a 8.1 is Actually insane, MotiveDVD in Australia through a Drag race Every year at a Place called Coota, Same deal as Xtreme its a Airstrip Surface so Getting power down is a Nightmare,

I don't know too much so it'll be hard for me to explain... But from what I've seen and my understanding is the dome of the piston is raised to the highest possible position just under the combustion chamber (this also depends on how high or low compression ratio you want) and the angle of the exhaust side of the dome is shaped in a way to get as much exhaust gasses out as possible and as fast as possible so with valve overlap and with fresh air intake coming in, there is little to no exhaust gas left in the combustion chamber to mix with the air intake charge coming in.

It made 1291 WHP on boost alone a 2.0 Liter 4 Cylinder engine. Which equates to about a 122 cubic inch motor. If that is not impressive, I don't know what is.
