The idea of a giant fish or predator being beside the diver because he is scared of the dark and other more giant predator is an amazing idea for a cartoon.
likewise if out in the wilderness and something comes into your camp your focus should also be on what they are hiding from.
@@iilisette4225 well don’t they usually wander into camps because they smell good food?
@@iilisette4225 depending where you are tons of creatures will be watching you around your fire, no doubt about that

@@bluebelle9572 well it depends, if a bear or something comes in and starts growling at you. Chances are it wants your shit or you but if a coyote or deer or some USUALLY non threatening animal to humans comes to your camp, and doesn't show signs of aggression towards you. Chances are it is seeking your company or protection against something else.
I find it similar to the forest goes quiet phrase. If everything goes quiet, your concern should no longer be at what you were previously looking at but what is around you.

My ex is a sat diver, he welds deep in the ocean. He has said to have felt like something is always watching him, that he’s felt things bump against him, heard unexplainable things… it’s a very physically and mentally demanding job.

The idea of being watched by a giant fish possibly with vicious intent and not being able to see it sends chills
The thought of a predator coming to the divers because they re scared of a bigger predator is the most terrifying thing ever
Also consider the fact that going that deep means their are creatures around you that humans have never seen before...
Ghost leviathan screams intensify
Yea cause its to dark
And to think the larger predator won't attack a human
They are also so deep that swimming up and away is not an option. It causes too much nitrogen to enter the blood stream if you swim up fast, which will kill them.
I doubt it, man.
Deep down inside the ocean, there is neither much oxygen nor much food to eat. That's why there are very few species and I doubt any of them would be bigger than a bluewhale, because again, less oxygen and food.
But there could be animals we haven't seen before.
To think that some large creature "15ft to 20ft" that wants to hide behind an average 5,8"ft man with a flashlight because it's scared of something bigger than 20ft...makes me scared on dry land😂
BIG facts! 😳😬😭🙈 LOL
Bro why you look like an off brand Seth Rogen
Right lol 🤣
Worked on a SAT boat in the Gulf of Mexico for three years. Most interesting aspect is that when you dive that deep there is a good chance you will see something that has never been seen before. Some divers said they would see small organisms that peaked their interest but when they completed their hitch and got out of the system they couldn’t find any info on said animals
Amazing.. what was the pay like for you, and how deep have you been? I'm intrigued
Can you describe anything that was seen or something you saw yourself in the ocean? it's crazy that a human would even go down there
I worked down there on dive jobs too after US Naval Service. I was based out of Louisiana, Texas, and California with the Professional Commercial Diving Corporation I worked for. Exxon Mobil, Shell, & Chevron were our largest contractors for work...
@InSaNeJoKeR how do you know
@@MB-ul5me Been a while since I looked into it but if I can remember right it's like 50k a month but you are restricted to only being able to do it every other month because of the effects of being under such extreme pressure for such an extended period of time. During work they live in a diving bell because it'd be very unhealthy and not very ergonomic to have them depressurize inbetween shifts. During their time down there they always have that awful feeling of pressure within the ear and everyone sounds like Daffy Duck. This guy didn't even talk about the most horrifying thing, Delta P, its very rare but while working on the pipe there have been instances where a hole formed and water rushed into the vacant space under extreme pressure sucking the diver in, there's no chance to swim away as they are sucked into the tiny hole turning into a noodle like playdoh being forced through a hair mold.
I would panic the instant I feel the water "moving violently" around me. Like, have I just been swallowed up without realizing?
That is terrifying to think about.
I sometimes do sat diving when I underwater weld. It's honestly the most scariest thing I've done. You're alone. In a black void, hearing nothing but your own breath. Sometimes, being in the bell made me want to go insane. However, it's an experience like no other. When I feel shit brushed against me, regardless of it being rushing water or some unknown creature, I tried my best to ignore the possibilities of what it could have been. Because it makes the job a little more bearable. You've probably seen minecraft message
"You may not rest; there are monsters nearby."
Well. Yeah...
That's when I learned that not knowing can be a very scary thing.
Edit.
Not to mention the length of time it takes to decompress to prevent the bends. It's always the longest part of the job, sometimes taking 5 days or so. But once you get out of the bell, and out of that water It's like scratching an itch.
Thats insanely terrifying... thank you for doing whatchu do. You're the definition of Brave.

There was a diver in Tennessee who went down to check the pilings on a bridge and he came up a lot faster than he went down. He was shaking and pale. When he could calm down enough to speak, he said he would never ever go back down again that deep. When asked why, he said there are catfish big enough to swallow a man whole. That one came right up to him and just stayed.

In Oklahoma, a twelve year old boy was tubing behind a ski boat in Lake Eufala. My uncle's friend quit the next week because that creature was scary af with battle scar.
There are no 30 to 40 foot fish, that would have to be a whale and scars would likely be from giant squid as that's a common food for sperm whales
@@dackjaniels4203 you have to remember we have only discovered 3-4% of the total oceans. This means we know more about space than the ocean. They could have seen a undiscovered species. Ah yes, Nature is amazing. Animals hiding from predators with humans. Needs to be a show or something where the diver and the animal befriends each other.

My worst nightmare is being immersed in water. To be that immersed, no thank you. Those divers have my respect.

Seems like a pretty fun job, You get to be alone while doing work with complete silence, you can just focus on what you are doing.
I mean the things in the water might be dangerous but If I die then I die.
If it's extremely cold doesn't that mean they can use higher lumens without much issue?
The problem with super high lumen flashlight is that it overheats really fast, so if it's that cold down there wouldn't one of those be useful?
There's sediment in the water. Imagine a clear glass cup of muddy water can't see through it very well. Now put 2000 lumens through it...
@Richard Ziminski Yeah that's what I thought. You'd lose the close-up visibility, not gain long range.
@Richard Ziminski Plus you don't really need more light. The animals down there aren't super aggressive towards humans, and being able to see what's around may just stress you out.
I'd still carry strong magnets, though. Hopefully it'll ward off any sharks.
@@maxpulido4268 magnets?
@@Derf-sr4px Sharks appear averse to strong magnets. I have seen video of them happily taking free meals of meat left on the ocean floor, but appearing to be repelled by, and unable to access the same type of food left guarded by a ring of magnets. The sharks clearly wanted it, but it was like a dog wearing one of those "invisible fence" shock collars that won't let them in or out of a yard.
I believe it messes with that sensory organ they have that we don't, but I'm not sure.
It could have been a scam, but the video wasn't selling magnets or anything, nor did it have links to any store, so I think it was legit.
Giant fish scary but being in complete darkness on the ocean floor just that thought is enough to shake me to my core. Mr.Ballen has a story where the sat divers get disconnected from the diving bell no lights no heat no air. Terrifying! Also Harrison's story is also scary. He was on a large vessel that gets flipped and sinks and he sat in an air bubble for +24hrs inches from SHARKS feeding on dead crew members and freezing cold and surprises the he'll out of divers recovering body's on the ocean floor. Both are great story's told by Mr. BALLEN.
If I remember correctly he was there for 60+ hours underwater in a air pocket in the pitch black I would be extremely scared.
I thought it was nice how he was worried about scaring the diver that found him in the dark air bubble room.
@@kalioxgaming he was only there for a max of 48 hours if anything, idk how he would’ve survived any longer than that bc of the pressure.

@@kalioxgaming idk exactly who harrison even is lmao, but i just didn’t really understand how someone could sit at the bottom of the ocean for that long without getting hypothermia
I'm actually currently going to Commercial Diving school for Sat diving. And funny enough, with it being so cold down there, groupers LOVE the warm water. So 300-600+lbs groupers will actually come and "snuggle up" to the divers to warm up.
Got to have nerves of Steele for a job
like that. Truly would be so terrifying!
For anyone who’s curious, it’s extremely time consuming and expensive to pressurize and depressurize at that depth. So once divers get to their expected depth. They tend to live there for a few months, and standard oxygen isn’t good enough to breath at that pressure. So the divers are breathing in a mix of gases including helium.
I wonder what happens if one of the divers were to have a physical or mental health emergency while down there, since it takes so long for them to decompress.. I suppose they would just put them in the bell and hall them up then keep them in a special pressurized room?.. I could be way off on this 🤔
Nothing they can do. U go up ur lungs will explode.
You don’t stay down there at that depth u are brought back up to the boat and if there is a emergency you will depressurize into a chamber and u sleep and eat take showers and then u get back in the bell and it takes u back down to work I think they stay in there one mouth and the you depressurize and you are off for a mouth I think that’s how it works

TheOpinionTuber they can’t work every day of the year. I believe it’s 28 days on and 28 days off.
Generally speaking, saturation divers can make up to $30,000 - $45,000 per month. Annually, this can add up to over $180,000. A unique salary addition for saturation divers is “depth pay,” which can pay out an additional $1- $4 per foot.
@@MrSimplified Some pay $400-$500 an hour with experience, they just can't actually dive that much so they'll max out at $200k-$300k most of the time.
I think it pays a lot more then that,. A friend of mine was going to be an underwater welder, he said it pays extremly well because the job had a 3 to 5 year life expectancy. Meaning the divers nerves would be fried in that time and could not get in the water after that.

Lmfao I just told someone else that this is a urban legend told everywhere.
I can confirm his story. I was the catfish.
@@fish4529 no just fish
@@benlong1256 when workers get paid hundreds of dollars to dive then comes up and says I’m never going back there I don’t think it’s called an urban legend it’s called a reason and just because you’ve never seen it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist I mean pretty sure you’ve never seen a dinosaur but yet you believe that they look exactly like what google says lol
Reminds of the stories a former classmate who was a dive welder have told us. That large fish have hovered around him and just stared at him. When asked if those fish ever get violent the only defense per say is the hot tip of the welding rod.
If you have the hot tip of a welding rod, it might be enough.
I love when you pop up mrballen. You are one of my favorite channels. Great voice, stories, way of speaking, intelligent. And easy on the 👁👁s
Just being in dark water alone absolutely terrifies me
I hope you get the issue sorted out brother. We miss your quality content .👍

@@p_campbell His channel was shadow banned. He's appealing it
@@travismooney485 first off he was spending time with the fam for thanksgiving but then he got a 7 day upload ban from yt due to them saying his content contained graphic sexual content ffs !! He appealed it but I guess he didn't win. Yt is messed up. This guys channel has nothing like that! 👍 ps I think the ban is lifted now so hopefully we will see a new main channel vid soon ✌
Heck yea he just dropped a good episode!! Thanks for the info everyone!!
I'm sure they could probably invent a display that can see things using sound waves converted into a two-dimensional picture
This guy explains things so well
Lathe machinist here, I ride the beast everyday. Invisible shit wouldn't bother me as much as the spinning chuck ready to pull you in at the slight graze of your sleeve or tool
My dad had an experience that would be the first to actually scare the crap out of him. He was a deputy in a police station near the ocean, and his work was to capture people who were illegal fishing. One day, the wooden platform they were walking on was shaking, it was unlikely for it to shake since it was tied very neatly. So my dad voluntarily went to go look where the problem was happening and fix it. He dives in and after a couple of minutes he found it, and saw that it just became loose. And so he tries to fix it, and then a huge shadow appeared above him, he thought that it was a small boat passing, but when he looked up it was a shark passing above him, he said that it was bigger than him. But it wasn't doing anything, he said that it stopped, and then moved again and disappeared. After that, he rose back up to the surface and just talked about it with his fellow mates. But he said that it was the most terrifying thing he had ever seen.
I believe it! Who knows what's all down below...
The shark stopped above him. Great white sharks can't stop. For their entire life they are moving.
@@neilhamill318 imagine the muscles…
When will you be making full videos again?
Now I'm terrified imaging me there. You gave a very descriptive description.
“There’s always a bigger fish” Jedi Master Qui-Gon
Mr ballen tells it with passion.!
Him being a former marine.
Is a man who admirers the sea...!
He wasn't a Marine.... He's Navy and a former Seal that was wounded in combat in the middle east. I think it was a grenade when his team was out on patrol!
And the thing that makes that job actually dangerous is drivers with giant balls are not buoyant
One terrifying animal going to a human for comfort to hide from another terrifying animal is both terrifying and cute at the same time
These divers are basically underwater astronauts
