Good vid Gary...if the fakes get by the pros then what chance do we have in spotting them, I must admit that is why I buy any clubs I need from golfclubs4cash as they seem to give due diligence to the authenticity (that's a big word!!) of the stock they sell....we the public wouldn't have a clue...as what happened to James Robinson and the Scotty putter 🎊🌟🤩🥳
Golf Clubs 4 Cash seem to be a great business, we've bought and traded in through them a few times now and found their service to be faultless, so it's no surprise that they're taking any counterfeit clubs out of circulation. Great vid, and a nice bit of promotion for the company Gaz. Personally, I'll probably always go to a company like this, even though I might pay slightly more for products than I would scouring marketplace etc, just for the peace of mind.
Good watch this one Gaz. I was well chuffed to get the Scotty & TM right, the Ping confused me as it was well battered, I decided it had to be real because of this! Got stung a long time ago by the eBay fake market and been a lot more savvy since with my online orders.
I’ve heard that some people will buy real GolfPride & Lamkin grips, keep the receipt, and use that receipt to “return” fake grips to the store. How can consumers be sure they are getting real grips from stores that usually sell authentic equipment?
We actually had a member bring some grips into our shop that he’d bought somewhere else and he asked if he could swap the size and pay a-bit, thankfully I was in and managed to stop this happening to us. They were fake and bought off eBay. I think you need to shop at places with good qualified professional staff who can spot a fake ideally.
I question some of the sellers on Marketplace who have a lot of clubs that are several years old still with the plastic on them and the plastic wrap doesn’t look like factory wrap to me…
Yeah! I know what you mean! I’ve also seen them, and the wrappers aren’t what we get on our shop stock. They often say your issue, your van stock, then have foreign labels on.
Hey there love the content, I was curious if you’d like an idea for a video…. I’m originally from Wales now living in Ottawa Canada. I’ve been buying and selling clubs for a couple years now, some from FB but lots from two pro shops I deal with. Recently I picked up a set of TaylorMade P790s from one said shop, sold them on. The guy has had them 6 weeks and now come back to me saying they might be fakes. I’m not into selling garbage or fakes, so I was curious if you’d like to make a video with these clubs, and see if you can figure out if I bought a set of knock off clubs from a legitimate source, and is this a common thing…. Maybe you can play a round with them and Let me know, if you think they’re duds or legitimate. Thanks
If you’re in Canada, it would cost you a fortune to ship them? We could maybe look at some pictures? The p790 is an iron that gets copied, James have take set for testing.
@@garymartingolf sure I can look into pricing to ship, I’m not worried about costs, as I said it’s the fact that these came from a reputable source, now my client thinks they’re duds…. I’m not into ripping people off and would love to know for sure. I’ll drop you some pics when I get them back later today.
I guess the Scotty is fake because it doesn't look that solid (which for a milled block of steel is weird) and the Ping fairway wood is looking sus, with the fonts and writing not looking the usual "Ping crisp". Then again, it's not easy. Particularly on the screen where the sound/feel is absent. Then possibly the 2balls, but again, it's coming with a "not as standard as they come" neck, which would be a strange choice to fake. So, not so sure what the 3rd fake is.
You for the ping and Scotty. Lastly was TM, which are some of the best fakes I’ve seen! These you quite often have to put side by side to tell, and it’s usually comes down to the smallest difference, like text width, or shaft paint a slightly different shade.
Surprised about the taylormade but the scotty and ping looked off. I will say having the scotty comment being the highlighted put me on alert immediately. Also, I will say, if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.
My guess is the Ping is fake (just looks cheap, no shine off the head, which could throw me because its through a screen but it just looks off), Scotty is obviously fake, looks like a toy on the video. Everything is rough and plastic-y looking on video, which is not what I expect from Scotty, and the Taylormade is probably fake. It seems fairly well done, but there is just something off about, from someone who loves a TM fairway, but my love for those clubs is the only thing I have to go off there
That’s why I can’t play golf right I bet I got all fake clubs. Can’t. Wait to tell the lads. Good video mate. Keep them coming
Ahahaha 😂🤣

Did James buy a fake scotty? 😂 nightmare 😄
Thanks for bringing it to our attention Gaz, great video

Couldn't agree more, I've used them for a long time, a well run business

Well done gaz i always buy from a golf shop the club's should have a code number on them 👍 😊
There’s so many fakes out there it’s unreal, and they’re getting so good!
4:30 AM, good strong coffee, a 6:20 tee time, and a bit of Gaz to start the day, life is good! ☕️
What a day! Have a great round ⛳️🔥
@@garymartingolf Enjoyed it so much I decided to play 36!

They’re aren’t they! Wish I’d known before I’d bought toheed some off eBay.
Got them all right! Maybe I'm in the wrong business! 😂🤣
Great deal on the wedges 🎉

That g10 5 wood looks nothing like the one I had, hope it’s fake otherwise mine might have been😂
Ahaha. This one is definitely fake 😃

I'd say the Ping the Taylormade fairway wood and the Scotty Cameron putter!
🐊🏌⛳️🦅🇺🇸
You got them 🔥
I go Ping, Scotty plus one more
I got two! The Scotty and TM.

The Scotty Select & Ping G10 looked fake as !
Yeah, you for them 👍🏼
The fakes were kinda obviously bad.
You must be more clued up on clubs than most people. Some have no idea.
OK can barely hear you and the bargain alert blows my ear drums right out! When editing please use sound accordingly
Sorry
Taylor made looked fake, Scotty looked iffy with the writing and TS2 fake?
Scotty was fake. It was the ping fairway which was also fake.
@@garymartingolf thought it might be lol but TS2 looked so perfect I figured you might have thrown a red herring in there lol

2/3 ain’t bad lol
Which ones did you get wrong? Taylormade? They’re the most convincing fakes. It always comes down to font on them, or shaft decals.
I think the G10, Scotty, and R11 are fake.
Yeah, you got them all 🔥
They have a cheek.
They accused a member at my club of trying to pass them fake ping irons that were custom fit from the pro!!!!
The scotty Cameron, the Titleist and the Taylormade are fake.
Did you say which were fake.
Yes
@@garymartingolf dam.
So many bloody scotty fakes about ...do not buy one off ebay their are loads ...
Yeah, plenty of fake grips and head covers too.
Ping Fake, Scotty Fake
Ping g10 😂😂 fake as feck
You’ve got a better eye than most
@@garymartingolf the paint on it is horrendous spot a mile off mate and I didn't fast fwd through vid 👍
