  • After removing the outer and inner primary cases we remove shift linkage, a circlip, washer then the old seal. We wrap the splines of the shaft with tape and install a new seal using the correct tool.

we need to see what's behind the seal.... is there a bushing? I dropped the bike on the shifter and it slammed the shift spline against the case. Rattles when I go fast. I've been looking for this video though!! THANKS

I have a 2021 Tri Glide with just over 4000 miles It was in the shop this past week for a shift seal leak. I hope they got it right. HD in my opinion has poor quality control and testing of their products.

Where did it leak exactly. Did i blow and get on the front of the lower part of the engine somehow?

@@samueljones154 I think it was leaking for some time. The deal that is on the shifter just as it goes into the tranny was leaking. The tech said the seal looked good and don't how it was leaking. I think it many be an issue with the current design. The shop foreman knew just where to look. Might not be the first one that have repaired. I guess the wind was blowing it around and covered most of the bottom of the bike. I just finished a 400 mile ride. Tomorrow I will take a look under and see if any other leaks are there. One more year on the warrantee.

So if this leaks will it blow up on the front of the motor? I ask because ive replaced the inner primary seal, engine to primary seal, starter, and the inner primary seal itself and i still have a leak that only seems to leak if i run it 85mph +
