Good morning Annette, the tutorial was well done, you have done all the necessary steps to ensure a glorious display of your much loved tulips. I so enjoy to see people recycling items year after year with the planting procedures. It encourages new gardeners and reminds us to use what we have in storage already. Hope the high winds will not be devastating, we are still trusting for good rains in our area, a cyclonic development on our eastern side near Madagascar which could bring rains for us. It is very stressful presently, cannot use municipal water they will explode so we save what we can as we always do. Happy planting, will watch for your next adventure. Enjoy a wonderful day, keep snug. Kind regards.
Beautiful tulips Annette. I use mesh pieces over the holes in my pots to stop the compost falling through- I ran out of crocks ages ago.I have just finished prepping my begonias and dahlias for storage\. So relieved that job is done. I have been planting garlic and onion bulbs on the allotment yesterday. The storm brought down my bean arches, sadly. My hubster says he will repair them so they will be ready for the next growing season. I have about 20 pots of various bulbs on my decking. So worried about the voles, mice and squirrels. I have covered the pots with large pots and bell cloches until they come through, then I will remove them and hope the mice won't attack them then. Last year I lost all my bulbs, bar the narcissi to the little critters! So upsetting when you spend so much money and time on them! I have ornate wrought iron pot stands under my pots. They tuck underneath. I use them for my tender salvias in the summer and the bulbs in the winter. Happy gardening 🙂 x
