I worked at Taylor’s Garden Centre for most of my young life (Child Labour laws aside) and we would start making red bows in August!!! By December 15 we never wanted to see another red velvet bow in our lives! January was clearance, February was clean all greenhouses and every inch of sales space, and March began seed madness, followed by tree and shrub sales and annuals season began in earnest in May thru June and then July was the annual trip to Europe to pick out unusual and unique Christmas embellishments like a tour through Old World ornaments makers and then to Oberammergau to buy hand carved Nativity sets. It so much reminds me of y’all at Andrews Seed……..Laura got an early schooling in business and merchandising which has stood her well over the years. Combined with the eye of an artist, it makes you the Queen of the gardening industry and gives us nostalgia and knowledge and envy for your relentless pursuit of your goals!!! Love to all at Garden Answer and May each of you never lose your childlike joy for Christmas…….that’s what I’m here for!!!
We took our to Boise for a college visit. My awesome husband took me to Andrew's Seed Co. yesterday! It was so much fun. I was greeted by Monica as I walked in. I bought the greenhouse ornament! Our son was so glad I didn't geek out as I was shopping! What a great store. Robin was my checkout lady and she was wonderful! So glad I can check off something from my bucket list. Merry Christmas!
I love that you left that gorgeous garland unadorned (no ribbons or fussy bows or Christmas baubles) so that the true beauty of drape-y fresh greens really shines!
The garland turned out beautiful. I agree with you that the longer piece draping down adds a wonderful finished touch! Of course adding lights is like the cherry on top! So nice you, your Mom and Monica work so well together and have family time together while working!💚
At the flower shop I work for, we offer workshops for flower arrangement designs. This month, we have 3 Christmas/ winter centerpiece classes we are doing. This week, at one of the classes, I mentioned to the "students" that a garden influencer that I follow recommends mayonnaise to help remove the pine pitch from your hands.♡ We had multiple women ask if we were talking about "Laura at Garden Answer" ❤ I said, "Of Course! She's the best!" Laura, there are GA fans that walk amongst us every day and I love it! You are a powerful yet humble influence on us all. Thank you for what you all do to educate and inspire so many people. Your mom's garland turned out stunning!♡
Such beautiful wreaths and garland. Thank you Susan for holding the camera close, so we could get a good look at Laura’s process. When I feel overwhelmed and/or frustrated, I am grateful to turn on one of your Christmas videos and feel calm and happy. You and your family make such a difference in my day. Thank you so much for sharing these moments with us.❤🎄
The beauty you and your family bring to the world truly makes me cry with almost every video (good tears). Be it the beauty of your creations and/or the beauty of your spirits. You are such beautiful people, inside and out. God bless you all, thank you for the beauty you create, inspire, and share; and Merry Christmas to all.
At this point, pretty much everyone in your family, except your brother, is a RUclips pro. You’re Mom and Monica could be film makers and on air personalities as they’re already very loved, respected, and admired. I doubt that you and Aaron knew how this all would evolve but it’s been quite a pleasure getting to know you, Aaron, the kids, and your family. I learn so much from all of you and am very grateful!
The Hartley tree, standing proud and majestic, seems like it was destined to be adorned with those shimmering greenhouse ornaments. Picture it-a canopy of glossy leaves cradling the sparkle of delicate decorations, turning the tree into a masterpiece of nature and craft.
The garland looks very nice! Unfortunately evergreens like all of these are very expensive in my region of germany ( near Cologne ) . I plan to make an ivy garland out of my gardenivy including the ivy fruits for the table at Christmas evening. 😊
Laura, I watch your videos every day and have been since you moved to this house. I’m always so inspired by you and your family. You have such amazing parents and it’s so clear to see their inspiration on your life. On the 23rd of this month, it will be ten years since I lost my mom. Watching your relationship with your mom is so special. It makes me miss my mom. Thank you for sharing your life and family with us. I don’t think you’ll ever know what an impact you have on others. Almost every single day I share something that you said or did on the video that day. I no longer have to say Laura from Garden Answer, I just say Laura… The garland is beautiful. It looks so good on the banister. I do have a question, do you need to spray the garland with water, how long will it last? Have a great day! Donna
Great filming Susan. Laura the garland is beautiful, so festive, what wonderful family memories will be made. Monica, cute wreaths, you are all so talented. 🎄Happy Holidays Garden Center,🌲 Garden Answer 🧑🎄& all the great staff, what a team.❤️💚 Thank you for sharing all these heartfelt videos. 🎄❤️🌲🎄❤️🌲❤️🎄❤️🌲❤️🎄
Thank you for these tutorials,Laura! We just put up our garland over our front door a couple days ago. We learned how to make it from you, and have this annual tradition to frame our entry. We put white lights, and leave it up through the winter. My husband forages the greens. Our base was yew from my son's hedge up the street. He asked us when we were coming to get greens, and we already did, so obviously his hedge is full. I filled our porch pots and window box as well. Your videos are both inspiring and helpful.
Good morning, love these kind of videos! Looks beautiful! Keep enjoying your parents! Lost my dad three years ago and my mother ten years ago! Nothing is the same!
Beautiful job on the garland, Laura, and love the wreaths that Monica and Susan made. What a gorgeous way to display the garland on the railing and the lights too. Such a talented women!
Good morning beautiful ladies! How fun, it turned out beautiful! Yesterday I talked to Monica on the phone and thought it was Susan 😀 and today I get to see her and Susan all together with Laura 😍 I love it! The renovation was a long, long process but it turned out so beautiful! Looking forward to see more ornaments Monica. I think that not year I have to start in the beginning of November so I enjoy the tree for my birthday as well and add a couple more in the mix. I have so many ornaments now😮 and I gave a few away. Oh well, I like them all. Thanks for your help Monica, I can't wait to see the surprise ornaments 😅. Hugs and love, Camelia ❤️🤗❤️ Have a blessed weekend 😘
The fragrance of all of those fresh greens must be intoxicating! What a great tutorial. The mechanics are everything, and Laura’s considerable artistic talent combines to make everything she attempts, excel.
How sweet the way you bless your parents by kicking in at the shop when they need you. Then to make garland? Wow… your mom is blessed with a daughter who loves her. 🥰
Beautifully crafted evergreen garland and loving the fairy lights placed on the garland. Your Mom and Sister did great work on the ordered six special wreaths for the customer, too! What a nice video.
Thank you Laura I worked in the wholesale floral Industry in Canada for many years and Christmas with all of its greens was my favorite time time of the year. Bless you all and have a Very Merry Christmas 🎉
Laura, it is such a wonderful treat to see you, your mom, and Monica working (and playing!) together! I always smile all the way through these fun videos, and I always hate to come to the end! The three of you remind me of The Three Musketeers....All for one, and one for all....your love and loyalty for each other! Merry Christmas to your beautiful family! (The garland is fabulous!!)
Laura, the beautiful garland you made was the perfect embellishment for the banister and that part of the house. The fairy lights add the extra magical touch! Great job, ladies! 😊 12 days til Christmas ❤🎉 🌲
The garland came out beautifully! Love it! I love seeing you, your Mom and Monica all together doing what you do best…being a loving family❤️ I enjoy your videos so much, thank you for sharing💕❤️
What a wonderful video today. I love seeing your mom and Monica. You are so great together. The garland is beautiful and looks wonderful on your parent's banister. The wreaths Monica and your Mom made are beautiful. I enjoy my morning dose of Garden Answer, It prepares me for the day. Thank you and Have A Blessed Day Everyone. Merry Christmas ☃🎄⛄
I can’t wait to try this. I have an artificial olive tree that has seen better days. I’ve had to tape the trunk to keep it from falling apart. I couldn’t bring myself to throw it away because the branches are still good. After seeing this video, I’m going to try to make a garland out of it! Thanks, Laura.
Absolutely beautiful! Here in the northeast a garland like that would cost approx. 200$ . Years ago I picked princess pine & made a wreath & garland . But to buy all the greens now would be so expensive. But the look is so special I think it is worth the cost ! Another beautiful project ladies ! Have a great holiday 🎄🎅🏻
❄️ Ohhhh!, love the Garland, its beautiful, abd the wreaths that Monica and your mom made for a patron, so sweet. I'll be making one for my front door. Thank you for sharing.have a great evening, 😊 👋 ❄️
Oooh cameras, can't win em all! haha. Lovely video all the same, your mom is just so lovely, her home is so cozy feeling, makes me just want to curl up with a cup of tea and a book. Thanks for sharing!
Love that garland and it looks rather simple to do. Never saw anyone make one. May have to give it a go this year! Love seeing your Mom and Monica doing their beautiful work too. Those wreaths were great!
Your mom has such a beautiful, welcoming home! I don't have any stairs to swag a garland on, but this has given me inspiration to make one for my fireplace decor next year.
Thank you for the refresh for my brain! I used to live in the Blue Mountains east of Walla Walla near Mill Creek, however now live in the Walla Walla Valley. I will be going to Klicker’s tomorrow to load up on fresh greens for making a large garland similar to yours, for our open dining room. So, thanks and now I’m excited! I feel like your instructions will help me so much. You must have a very generous supplier. All my greens will have been grown up by our cabin in which we used to permanently live on Klicker Mountain. I love all you and your sister and Mom create, plus your mom has taught you to be positive by her example! I have the plant business, Aunt Violet’s FINE PLANTS, which is mostly food plants, however we are on a pause while we heal from some surgeries. You’ve probably not heard of us, because we only sold at Walla Walla Downtown Market. Love all that you have taught me. You all are so amazing and sweet. MERRY CHRISTMAS!
When I watch these videos, I don't complain about the cost of fresh wreaths and garland because there is a lot of work involved in making them. I don't have the patience for this anymore. 🙂
Oh Laura, I absolutely LOVE it! I love the incense cedar! I have not seen that around where I live 😍 Your parents’ house is amazing! I have been sick for a week now and no energy to Christmassify my house, so I live through your videos 😆🎄🤶🎅🏻
You and your mom always doing something together. The garland is beautiful. I just realized you have polish on your nails not used to seeing your nails polished.
Thank you for this tutorial. It turned out so pretty. The camera you used was so good as far as video quality and was better than the one you normally work with. I hope you give it another chance. 🙂🌲

Love these winter decorating videos! So many of your decorations can be left up all winter, beyond the holidays...Love that!
Wow the ornaments are dwindling. Has your mom thought about caring Old World Ornaments. They are so beautiful you would love them! How pretty is the banister.

Always love when Susan and Monica are included. You have a lovely and kind family.
Your Mom is a lucky lady. Having "2" daughters that help with projects is certainly a blessing!
Good sport, Mom, always ready to give a cheerful hand in her very busy day; camera holder and best mom award goes to you.
Nothing gets me into the festive spirit quite like watching Laura doing Christmassy stuff. What a gorgeous garland. 👍
Very true!!!!
We took our to Boise for a college visit. My awesome husband took me to Andrew's Seed Co. yesterday! It was so much fun. I was greeted by Monica as I walked in. I bought the greenhouse ornament! Lucky you!!!
I would have filled out an employment application. LOL! So exciting that you got to go.
I love the wreaths and the garland. You ladies are so talented. I really miss my mom today and I enjoyed watching you three interact.
I love that you left that gorgeous garland unadorned (no ribbons or fussy bows or Christmas baubles) so that the true beauty of drape-y fresh greens really shines!

Being Jewish, I enjoy seeing you and your wonderful family celebrate Christmas. The traditions, decorations, and seasonal joy is uplifting.
Very sweet! Hanukah’s blues and whites are so pretty and peaceful and it’s wonderful that we can all enjoy the beauty of another’s traditions! 🕎🎄
I always think about what a joy your videos must bring your Mom.
She taught you this gift and now you're teaching this gift to the world.
When are the three of you going to do a shopping video trip? I love when you do a Christmas shopping trip!
You girls take so good care of your parents! So fun to watch.

Your Mom seems so sweet and soft spoken.😊
I didn’t notice the “shakiness”. I do think the picture quality was fantastic! Always love these type of videos - you and mom together are precious.
Best looking garland I have ever seen. So much fuller and 'real' looking than any store bought garland I have.

Well said and I agree wholeheartedly.
The Hartley tree should be covered in those greenhouse ornaments.
Getting your piles in place for the wreath is the same as mise en place for cooking….which I always forget to do😂
I love your mom’s house…and your FAMILY!
