I'm not a Poirier fan but now i think about it, Dustin is truly the most entertaining lightweight. Hooker, Connor, Chandler, Gaethje, Oliveira. every fight is so fun to watch.
@@wreckitrigo230 It was a war but it got uncomfortable to watch towards the end as Hooker started fatiguing while Poirier still looked fresh. It’s hard to explain but it’s just not fun watching the momentum get to this point.
Dan vs Dustin is my all time favorite fight. It was just epic. The lockdown era of ufc was savage. You could hear everything, punch, kick, walk, even their breathing. And then ofcourse this era brought another realization of the horror of the fight game in the form of Justin vs Tony. The fact that you could hear everything drove home the fact that this is really a blood spot were the journey to one man's death can only be interrupted by time or one other man. Yeah, that one I will never watch again.
Such a brutal fight. The COVID no fan era of fights was nasty because you could hear every punch and kick so clear, and this was the best fight of that era
Fun fact: Dustin actually said that he was unconscious for second or two at the end of round 2 after that knee, and you can actually see that Dustin went limp before his back touched the cage there, 2:48. Probably my all time favorite fight in any fight sport.
I remember watching this fight at the pub at the time. We all commented that this would be life changing for the amount of damage taken during these exchanges. To hear those shots and to hear how excited and also concerned bisping and dom were during the fight, showed is how savage the fight was. Dan hasn't been the same since, and even dustin avoids those massive fire fights now. Much respect to both fighters. epic
Weasle was on point with this fight, Hooker didn't come back in the third round, the end of round 2 was the last time we saw him, and if you notice he's much faster and on point in this fight, his jab was accurate, nowadays he looks slower
This is a fight that I seriously think is one of the UFC’s top 10 fights. And the fact is that not many people seem to know or talk about it. This fight is something seriously out of an action movie.
Im here because someone commeted about how loud and scary these hits sounds. The crowd suppresses the hits dramatically. This is a completely different experience!
Epic fight and i hate to say it but given the fact that there's no crowd its alot easier to actually hear what really connects. we need more mics inside the octagon!
If Dan ever gets back on track to where he gave his life fighting with Dustin then I think he should get a shot for BMF title. I’ve watched him in all his fights and all the moves and mentality, the body language. I believe that this man has the heart. He has the ultimate fighting spirit.
Im here because of the fight companion on JRE and they mentioned this fight. Not into mma guess you can call me a casual. But god damn these 2 warriors deserve millions for putting their bodies on the line.
Looking back at this fight, it shows just how durable Dustin is. Hooker has never been the same between this and the Chandler fight. The sound of these hits are insane.
This actually makes it look more competitive then it was. Dustin smashed him rounds 3-5. And the first 2 rounds were very competitive. And Dan called out Dustin saying "'he was gonna smash his face in" to get this fight.
Bispings commentary “oh my god, oh my god” is honestly perfect. Some might be annoyed by it but that was everyone watching this fight. If this fight had a crowd, everyone would be doing the same thing
Dustin’s longevity and consistency makes his nickname SO fitting..
