Drove one of those Jeep Willy's (1966? ) out of a Riverside County CA fire station. Called them quick-attacks. Had 250 gallon tank and a little aux pump. The county finally decided they were unsafe and pulled them out of service in the early 90's. Fun to drive but, you could easily get yourself into a bad spot quick. With the 250 gallons of water on back they could climb just about any hill. Thanks for posting...fond memories
Very cool to see that old rig still in service, nothing wrong with an old truck as long as it's been maintained properly and that one looks to be in A1 shape.
+Stephen Babcock aren't you just cute. Son, if you're going to try and drop an insult on me and then hide your tracks, you've got to do better than this. And you know it's not about the M715, don't try to act innocent. "everytime I come I've come across you"... You mean the ONE time you mouthed off about something you know NOTHING about?? And don't write checks your ass can't cash Skippy. Only a punk tries to threaten someone on the internet.
They would be probably responding to a house fire with that vehicle, correct? I assume they would check out the fire, then if needed big trucks would respond. I guess saves on gas/fuel.
I watched it. And I've seen this unit before, I live maybe a 45 minute drive away from this station. Perfectly fine piece of equipment for a town lacking funding out in the middle of basically nowhere. I've seen worse. This one still responds and puts out fires, so I'm not sure what the big deal is

Not a Q. Its a Federal Model 77
Rob///// Two tone. Has two rotor-stators. Many years ago all fire chief's cars in San Francisco used these sirens
That siren should be passed down to whatever new rig replaces it (*IF* it is ever replaced).
