  • Jamey Johnson recently stopped by the store with his guitar to have a little work done to it. While he was here, Jamey was gracious enough to tell the story of “Ole Maple”, his famous Epiphone EJ-200 guitar that he bought from our Montgomery Store in 1995. Now we’re ready to share the story of “Ole Maple” with all of you. It’s a truly Iconic guitar with an incrediable story to tell. This guitar has been all over the world, signed by some of the biggest names in the business, and it’s the guitar that Jamey Johnson has written nearly all of his most popular songs on. Enjoy the story of “Ole Maple”

"Take Me Home" is so dear to me because I most likely will take that journey soon. God bless you and those you love. You make this world a better place, and I thank you. From an old Vietnam Vet.😂

    • @roadapple66
      @roadapple66 5 лет назад +1

      @@williamseurkamp2240 The Martins are no more expensive than a Gibson EJ-200: the same model as Jamey's Epiphone. I have several cheap guitars that will astound you with their tone, but I still want a Martin D-28, a Martin D-35, a Martin 000-15M, a Gibson J-45, and a Gibson Songwriter... all rather expensive guitars, but have tone that sounds like a good flat-top acoustic guitar should. If Epiphone (or anyone else, for that matter) made models that sounded, and played, like these iconic guitars from Martin & Gibson; then I would gladly spend a lot less money for those.

When I found Jamey Johnson’s music and started listening to it I knew he would like it. I took it over there and showed him and for the first time he sat back in his chair and said there you go John that’s country the way it should be.

    When i was a child, about 7 or 8 yrs old, My Grandfather gave me my 1st guitar & even though it was peiced back together, i learned my licks on that guitar but had it stolen at a show! When i was about 10 yrs old, everytime we went to the mall, my family knew where to find me, at the music & everytime i would play this black Westone spectrum lx & after about 6 months or more of pkaying that guitar, my Father purchased it for me & that became my baby! Again my Father surprized me with a Takamine accoustic electric satin finished G series though I Took my guitars to my Fathers house for safe keeping & do to fraud from another family member violating every aspect of my Father's will, i lost everything that meant anything to me! Seeing this video was more then heartfelt!!!! The memories!!!! Reminds me that, I need a new Guitar! Wish i coukd find a mint Westy? Im at work now seconds until my break is up....

    I've been true fan since at least 2006 all I can say is his music has saved my reality my life from the insanity.. He was the voice of a friend a brother.. Someone I never seen or met.. But a stranger he was not.. Keep on keeping on brother. 👥

    Hello, my name is Roman. I am from the Czech Republic. I play for people's pleasure and convey the mood. I changed many guitars and I kept looking for this exact guitar, but somehow we missed each other. In the end, she came to me second hand. I bought it from a guy who didn't play it much. She was too heavy for him. I was in seventh heaven. It is still made in Korea, before they started making them in China. in 1996 and has serial number 36. I am proud of her. After the purchase, I thought about how to tune it, I replaced the plastic with bone and ordered a Grover mechanism, exactly the one that Jamey has on his guitar. Then I was looking for inspiration in music and as if by God I came across Jamey on RUclips and his song Lead me home, for which I wrote Czech lyrics so that people here in the Czech Republic could understand it. Believe it or not I did all the editing before I saw Jamey and then this song that captured my heart. Ever since then I've liked Jamey a lot, he's a great inspiration to me. And a big thanks to the guys at Epiphone, Unfortunately, the only thing I don't have on it are the same electronics. I have a slightly different one and it's a bit damaged, I'll look for the same one to replace it, I don't want to put any new ones in there. Hopefully one day it will be possible...I love that instrument. Good luck to you all. Roman

    Epiphone should make a Jamey Johnson artist model of Ole Maple! With Sharpie included!

      CowTownCustoms they really should. I think of Jamey Johnson literally every time I see the EJ-200 at my local Sam Ash.

    Old Maple worth a fortune for just the signatures. You have kept it in good shape over the years and I'm glad, doing the upkeep to take care of this cherished item. Loved your music for a long time. I wanted to go see you so badly but sadly, when you made it to my area, my health wouldn't allow me to attend. But, I still enjoy you on you- tube. Prayers to JJ for safe travels.
