    I wish Disney would think things completely out more when they offer experiences like this. You’re not allowed to use your droid in the land for safety reasons, they could’ve easily fixed this problem by having a gated play area that you could play with your droid in.
    Edit: looks like Disneyland realized their mistake and now have a little “play area”

    • @Defender_messenger

      Martin Bruich you wouldn’t be allowed to actually go in you just place it in, the only problem I see with this is that the bb unit head can fall off. A cast member would obviously be there to help out but 🤷‍♂️ play at your own risk I guess.

      @@dunkboyxd6618 nope but in all fairness Gonk Droids in the lore only have one look and are essentially just walking mobile chargers... The latter of which would kind of defeat the purpose in the case of these interactive custom toys by virtue of (at minimum) doubling the battery expenditure. Doradrummer just went opening day and the BB droid are not worth $100+ they very difficult to operate, the head doesn’t stay on top when it rolls, the head comes off easily if it bumps into something and the beeping/“talking” it does is very low volume.
      My group bought 3 amongst us and you could see them really try hard to stay excited after seeing how hard it is to navigate them.
      It’s ultimately a REALLY overpriced Build a Bear for adults because I would not recommend it for a small child. They’ll loose interest SO FAST when they see that it’s not easy to control, I know this because I saw a bunch of adults making this realization in their eyes.

      @Frizzurd it changes the sound of the droid's beeping and I believe it interacts with stuff differently. Like I've heard droid's are supposed to be able to interact with other droid's and it acts differently depending where you are (a Droid with a resistance chip will act more frightened in a first order area and what not.) I haven't gone yet so I'm going off what vloggers have been told in their videos.
      Oh I'm a dummy. I somehow missed "outside the park." Honestly, I have no idea. No one has really posted what they do afterwards. I think outside the park it's just an rc Droid that occasionally beeps. It isn't as advanced as the r2d2 sphero that reacts to the movies.

      Sphero is great but they aren't making the droids anymore. When TLJ released their sales dropped astronomically so they announced last year that they will no longer be making the Star Wars line. Also in Disney's defense these droids are a lot bigger and cheaper than the release date price of sphero. I own the R2-Q5 sphero and when he released he was 200 bucks. These droids are 100 and while they lack the amount of accuracy and technicality of the sphero droids they are a lot bigger and still super fun. R2-Q5 is wonderful but he isn't worth 200 (I paid 50 for him closeout price). These droids I definitely have no problem paying 100 bucks for.

    I have a question. Do you have to book reservations inorder to go to the Droid Depot or Savi's Workshop? As in is it a requirement, or you won't get in? I ask, because, if I get a chance to go next year, I may want to return to these places again, before heading home, but I am not entirely sure if I will need to, or want to, and don't want to have to book for a day that I may choose not to do, nor do I want to be screwed, if I go there day one, get a droid and a Lightsaber, and then maybe later on stumble across something I may have wanted to get while I was there but did not have the time to go back that day, and planned to go the next day only to be unable to because I did not reserve for that day. I am just curious if I would screw myself over if I did not book them, and just went to them when I got to the park, or not. Do they take reservations over people that just walk in? Or would it just cause a long wait time, and if you are fine waiting, then you will be alright.

    • @dannycervantes2596
      @dannycervantes2596 5 лет назад +3

      Kayden Batch just went opening day and the BB droid are not worth $100+ they very difficult to operate, the head doesn’t stay on top when it rolls, the head comes off easily if it bumps into something and the beeping/“talking” it does is very low volume.

      And the lightsabers aren’t even up to the quality of the ones back from 2010-2012 that have the impact feedback and those cost $30 at the time. I’m used to Disney prices, these are far in excess of usual Disney prices.
      If you wanna pay more for a lower quality product you aren’t a “fan” you’re a mark

    • @nikolasperez7745
      @nikolasperez7745 5 лет назад +2

      @@TheRealAmericanMan Are you even a star wars fan? Because I'm a casual fan and I think they look awesome. Maybe not spend 200 dollars at the drop of a hat awesome but awesome enough that I'd want one. Plus its not just the theming that makes it cool. Its the experience and the memories made from having it. A little kid could get enjoyment out of playing with it and an adult could get enjoyment out of collecting something. Sounds to me like you're just complaining because of the price.

    • @TheRealAmericanMan
      @TheRealAmericanMan 5 лет назад +1

      Nikolas Perez I’m complaining because it’s basically the same items that they sell in Pandora but with jacked up prices. $75 for a drink in a wavy glass?
      $200 for a half decent lightsaber that’s nowhere near the quality of the $100 Black Series sabers? If you’re willing to pay extra to “experience” something in a park you already paid to enter that’s on you but exploitative prices should be called out. I love Disney but these prices are the most insane I’ve seen in any of their parks. This is basically the return of E-Ticket experiences. Except the ticket is $200 a piece and you get some plastic guff.
      Galaxy’s Edge is essentially just a themed store and as a result other than it’s impeccable theming it is probably the worst land addition in terms of added value in any Disney Park’s history.

    • @TheRealAmericanMan
      @TheRealAmericanMan 5 лет назад

      Like think about it, Pandora added two rides including one brand new and unparalleled experience, a whole land to explore freely. One of the most complex builds in any park’s history with the floating islands. Several eateries with themed foods for fairly low (for Disney) prices. And exclusive innovative themed merch. And the only items in Galaxy’s Edge that are innovative and different thing things you’d find at a Wal-Mart are the Salacious Crumb shoulder buddie.... BUT THOSE ARE JUST A RE-TREAD OF THE BANSHEE MADE FOR PANDORA.
      There’s plenty to criticize with Galaxy’s Edge.
      It was fun to experience, I’m happy I saw it. But I can safely say I wouldn’t return to it with a crowd. The Falcon ride isn’t worth an 8 hour wait or whatever they’re projecting.

    I wish they had a section where you could actually solter curcuits together and then build on top of that. I think it would be really satisfying, and really add more to the experience. Sure it might be hazardous, but Disney could put in age restrictions and have you sign a contract for any bodily harm.
