Geltsdale Loop - Over The Hill Mountain Biking

I've included this Geltsdale Loop video in my channel as it's the closest decent offroad ride for any of us living in the Carlisle area. It's not a long route at 23kms, and a large part of that is on the tarmac that takes you back to the start from Newbiggin. It's a perfect summer evening ride or a Sunday morning ride when you have plans for the rest of the day. Oh and it is quiet. You rarely see anybody after the first climb, even on a bank holiday.

The climb from Gairs is one of the old railway lines (Lord Carlisle's railways) used for mineral extraction. Allez Allez Tony!
