Ok. let's be honest...my handwriting is so awful and hard to read that it could easily be used by NSA as a new and highly innovative encryption method. Probably even better than quantum encryption.
The skills that I presented in this video show only half of what I'm actually capable of.
Straight lines... yes I can write with straight lines. When I was a student, I tended to be an outsider. Most of the time alone, an introvert hidden in the shade of his own thoughts. Everyone seemed to look at me with confusion because I was always clutching my notebooks really hard to my chest, and looking around with fear in my eyes. One day a nice girl who must have thought that I can't be as weird as everybody thinks approched me, and asked to borrow some of my notes. Without saying a word I gave her one of my notebooks enthusiastically. Unfortunately it was the one with straight lines...
Well... to put it mildly, borrowing the notebook with straight lines in it didn't help me to socialise with the rest of the students. Next morning everyone was afraid of me.
In a fit of pique I developed a new writing technique which involved vigorous blowing on a piece of paper. Next day I was expelled from university.

It should be noted that this video was made with the intention of creating a nice relaxing feeling called ASMR. It's not that kind of video where someone wants to present calligraphy skills etc. I have no idea how to write in calligraphy, and actually I barely use a fountain pen.The most important thing here was to create a video in which the quality of sound is decent enough to trigger ASMR sensation.

I guess I never realized how blessed I’ve been to have access to modern day pens. God that would be so frustrating to have to dip it every 5 seconds.
I prefer a fancy pen.. than a modern one.
Actually, it's more frustrating to make sure the pen isn't dipped too much or too little. Having it too much will make a small explosion of ink happen with even a slight tap. Too little will make the pen barely write. Personally, I've never written Calligraphy on Parchment, or even a quality sketchbook. So, whenever I write with too little ink; It scratches the paper and Ruins the heading.

The "scientific" answer: Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. In short (well, actually in long): you see or hear something that gives you a tingly sensation. Besides that it makes you relaxed and sometimes even tired. That's why most people are watching these videos. It helps them to relax or/and to fall asleep.
Oh and please don't feel stupid! There are new things every day. We can't keep track of everything. Just be open-minded and curious :)

Yep, it's a dip pen, fountain pens do have the same tip but they store their ink unlike dip pens.
Your videos always impress me, but this one seems particularly high quality, and is just so pleasing to look at
Damn mate! That paper has enough tooth to make a piranha jealous! What is that, 90 lb hot pressed watercolour paper? Arches brand perhaps? I write on 32 lb Southworth 100% cotton business paper with quills. My finger pressure is too light for steel nibs. Oh, and if you lick the seal before pressing it into the wax, it releases immediately when the wax cools.
