Every Indian watch collector should go through this vdo. Such a good compilation of indian watch heritage. You forgot to mention DWC(recently emerged Indian watch company).
The reason why HMT is so loved and revered in Indian timekeeping history because they made some rather good watches for a great price also there connection to the Indian Air force ( I am not aware of any other branches of Indian Army or Navy used HMT if there are please let me know) and many other brand are nice ,and , there not as a good as HMT, also India does have one of the greatest Astronomical and Scientific history in the entire world
Great video.. Being from India, and also watch enthusiast , i got to know lots of new things about the horology history as well as new Indian based brands...
A very well researched and interesting video. A lot of time and effort has gone into this video. I have found it highly informative. Keep up the good work 👍👍
Cool, didn't realize the connections between Citizen and the origins of the Indian watch biz. Also probably explains the tremendous values in so-called 'Mumbai Specials' which are often Citizens and Miyota movements.
@@IlluminatingWatches No worries. Your digital watch info is excellent and quite unique on You Tube. I inherited a 1977 LCD Omega Sea Master in excellent condition. My son still wears it.
Great video, found it very informative. Would love to know more about India's watchmaking history, can you provide access to your research and links to your sources. In future, please provide links to your sources in video description instead of quoting them in video, that would increase your authenticity. Great video nonetheless.
Thankyou! As you say , I try to provide the citations in the video as I use a LOT of sources. I’ll see what I can do re: being a bit more diligent on doing that in the description as well and appreciate the feedback.
Thank you I had never heard of any of these before. My only gripe about this video was the audio quality with the mic, it seems like your voice isn't being isolated enough. Otherwise, this was a fantastic video.
I’m glad you learned some things! Yes my apologies on the audio. I’ve since invested in a proper mic and am just about getting there with better quality now after learning how to use it properly.
@@IlluminatingWatches Hey, no need to apologize, it's all good. We all learn through trial and error, it's all part of the process. Got to say, you have got all of the videos on things I am interested about. Thank you for giving so much of your time into researching and making such fascinating videos.
Thank you for covering Indian horology. I would like to take your video as inspiration and do a few episodes on my channel about Indian horology. Please let me know if that's okay.
Of HMT watches? I’m no expert but would imagine they would be similar the to the base citizen movements used, which are google-able. Outside of some of the modified Citizen based HMT movements - there aren’t any domestically produced ones that I know of.
If you enjoyed this video - you may enjoy a more specific deep dive I did on Indian digital watches -> ruclips.net/video/VcImBzidQ2o/видео.html
