I remember using 'The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald' to get back at some people in my dorm for partying all night long and keeping everyone awake until the sun came up. Two of floors were dedicated quiet floors, but I guess they forgot, so the upper floor had the 12 hour party while we of the lower floor kept reporting them to the RA's and I think someone even tried to get campus security on their case. I ultimately decided to take matters into my own hands around 5 am. After clearing it with and even getting some helpers from my floor, we set up our own speakers in the stairwell, waited until the partiers upstairs went quiet, and then blasted it. They never had a party that long again.

Tim is so hilarious. Like Bill Engvall and Jeff Foxworthy, he doesn't need profanity to make us laugh, even though I have nothing against profanity. Ron White goes to my dark side of humor with his perfect use of profanity. I love comedians, and Tim should be as big as the guys I just mentioned. Not only is he hilarious, he's a great guitar player.

I'd honestly like to see him do Rush's song 2112 in ONE verse. (There is depth to it and the 7 parts do tell a story, {least 2-7, "Part 1: Overture" is mainly to get you ready or a hint of what you'll be hearing perhaps})

All this bit is that summaries are easy to write, in fact songs that tell stories like 2112, Xanadu, or Cygnus X-1 are easier to summarize because of it. I can think of a few for other Rush songs like
Xanadu: “man searches for immortality and gets it”
Cygnus X-1: “a guy flies a spaceship into a black hole and becomes a god”
Limelight: “Man becomes famous and has difficulty interacting with fans”
Beneath, Between, & Behind: “America’s army is too big”
The bit where he calls a 6 and a half minute song “too long” is pretty funny though.

1:50 Cats In A Cradle I totally agree didn't need to be as long as it was. ApologetiX did a parody to that one called Christ In The Stable and I love the words, but it's just so long and slow that I get bored with that one. This was so funny! I have ADD myself so I totally get this. For me if I'm listening to a song it's got to be no longer than 4 minutes before I just can't continue listening or pay attention to the words.

Gosh, I've just looked up ADD and to my complete shock, I think *I've got it!*
I thought ADD had something to do with hyperactivity. I'm not at all hyperactive, but based on what I've read, I do think I have "inattentive type" ADHD. Based on the following facts:
    • I daydream constantly
    • I find it very difficult to focus on things
    • I get VERY easily confused
    • I have huge trouble following written instructions
    • I am incredibly forgetful
    • I am always losing things
    • I don't listen when people are talking to me
    • I struggle to focus on anything for more than a few minutes
    • I consider myself quite slow and dumb in many ways (despite having quite a high IQ).
    • I don't know if it's related, but I have never read a novel in my life because I don't have the concentration and find it boring!
    • I also can't read if there's music playing, but I'm not sure if that's related to ADHD?
I'm fine when I'm writing (like here) because I can totally focus on the words in front of me. But when I'm doing anything else, I daydream constantly.
I've always considered this just to be my personality, not a mental disorder. I do have chronic fatigue, so I put my lack of concentration down to me just being half asleep most of the time! LOL
Not quite sure what to do with the fact that I probably have ADHD! That's a shocker LOL
Anyway, I'll move on to thinking about something else now…

    • @QuakerLady
      @QuakerLady 3 года назад

Stairway moves, it changes. But the Wreck seems endless because it never changes. Every verse is like every other verse. There is no chorus. There is no bridge. Just verse after verse of unchanging melody. It's quite monotonous.
