Hallo, ever time I try do draw every day I fail possibly because could not mange to do every day for longer as two weeks than happen some thing that can not do it one a day. Also what I hear from you that you do, I can´t draw more 1-2 hours per day what is 30-45 minutes per day.

just go on google and google something like 'faces dutch, or faces aboriginal' then click images and there is your source
the easiest way to spot a mistake is to stand back turn your back and hold up a mirror adjusting so you can see your work behind you - if you have made a mistake, it will stand out. and most times you haven't gone too far to fix it.
don't try to 'rescue' your sketch or paint - if it is bad, put it in the round file (garbage can) or save it and use it for origami

A girl from my art class kept complimenting me on my sketches, drawings and art skills. I didn't really like the way I drew, so I told her I don't like the way I draw and that it wasn't that good. Her friend then told me to stop "fishing for compliments" sooo... yeah😂😂

I think it's important to remember that beauty really is in the eye of the beholder. As an artist (of any variety really) we tend to see only the flaws, what we should've done, where we went wrong - all that self-criticism jazz. BUT others simply see the end result and when they compliment us (especially when they have nothing to gain by it) it comes from a sincere place. Take the compliment!! Focusing on the could've and should've is self defeating. It's enough to know that with each drawing, sketch etc. progress is being made. Improvement comes in increments not overnight. ;-)

Me too, my one of my friends keeps saying bad stuff about my drawings when I think it's good she says meant things about it like what is that and stuff like that and then I think my drawings just because of her .My friend her drawings are really good but I mean I wouldn't ever tell someone that their drawings suck but maybe tell them what I would do .So yeah if you are someone that insults other peoples drawings don't I can really make them sad and think that they suck and that they can't get better...etc
If u think the drawings not good just explain that person what you would've done. This was just a message for everyone insulting other's drawings, people have feelings for their drawings because they spend time on it so if you just say (if it took u an hour to draw)it sucks it'll can really hurt their feelings so don't do it:)

Don't want to be a downer, but when you boil it down to talent it can kind of dismiss the hard work that it took to get there. It is something you work at and refine through years and years of hard work and repetition. Not having a go at you, it's just something to think on when you compliment an artist.

When I was young, I had always wanted to draw manga and such stuff. I really loved it and wanted to do it. However, I always wanted everything to be perfect so I gave up very quickly because I hated all my drawings. My bf told me at that time, I need to practice so I will definitely improve, but I didn't do it. I just gave up. Then I focused on other things and was disappointed again and again. I couldn't find the same excitement that I had for mangas. Now, about closely 10 years later, I regret my childish behavior in the past. If I have finished my Bachelor Thesis in the next months, I want to learn drawing and painting again. I hope I won't give up this time. This video was very helpful and I hope I will stay motivated. Thank you ♥️

I bet if you see her pictures from years ago they wouldn't look the same. It took time for her to get where she is today. Don't expect to get better, by an enormous degree, in one day alone. I remember when I always drew girls with one eye, large bangs, a rounded rectangular body and spaghetti limbs 😂. Now, although I'm still far from where I'd like to be in my art, spaghetti limbs are no more. Body parts actually look like body parts 😊. But, all with time.

    • @kubeface115

Nobody starts off good at it. Innate talent isn't really a thing. What really differentiates a good artist from a bad one is how much work you've put in. I'd recommend looking up the drawabox tutorials. Do those and practice each and every day, even if it's only for 15 minutes. Every time you notice an improvement it will motivate you to keep going.
Don't spend the next 10 years of your life putting it off because others are better, then look back and realise you'd be there too if only you put in the work.

I love what you had to say at the end. I feel like people are constantly pushing this sense of rabid positivity, and while it's great to be positive or optimistic, I prefer to be realistic. I prefer to see and acknowledge where I can do better, and work at making that a reality. Telling myself I'm great at something when I'm fledgling at best isn't a good thing to me. It allows me to be complacent and halt my own progress. I won't tear myself down, but I definitely won't give myself cookies I have yet to deserve. I enjoyed watching your video and hearing about your journey, so thank you for sharing!

Just discovered your channel today, and subscribed :) Your humility is part of your appeal. You aren't bragging about your artistic credentials like so many other artists do. You're saying "I was awful, I worked hard, and I got better, and so can you!" And that will inspire people! People want to be inspired, not made to feel like they'll never be as good or as talented. I'm learning to draw female faces and bodies for RPG characters that I do, and your style is exactly what I hope to achieve! Not too cartoonish, not too realistic, just a lovely happy medium. Ears go from the eyebrow or corner of the eye, to the bottom of the nose, NOT to the mouth, those would be some humongous ears! I have really small ears, so mine are even smaller than that.

Loving this video and YES, you should be proud of yourself! I myself, decided to learn how to draw 6 months ago, and I’m nearing the 200th day of drawing every day mark. Learning how to draw fast (more or less) is hard work, and I’m reminded of this every day. Good work!

You are absolutely right. Criticism, even yourself on a art youtubechannel is not bad or "fishing for compliments". And pointing out the good things you can do are neither bad or wrong. That's how humans improve.
And I really like to see your accomplishments. Your art is stunning!

I’m proud of you for doing this. I’ve been drawing for a long time but just decided to draw everyday in my sketch book using ink only and not sketching with pencil first to get over the fear of sketching fast and erasing. It has improved me greatly confidence and speed! So I’m so proud of you for being consistent. I draw comics but we all can always improve

I loved this video so much that I subbed after watching. What made me sub was the "speech" (lol) you gave about how some are commenting that you are purposely putting yourself down so you can get compliments. That is a very absurd assumption. It is not at all easy to show your sketchbook to 1000's and it's even more difficult to talk about your insecurities when it comes to your skills as an artist. The instant growth of your channel was no doubt overwhelming. So I can totally get how you felt you didn't deserve such attention when you were still at a novice level. But you took that as a motivation to improve your art and for me, that is hella inspiring! I too struggle with drawing and if I'm being honest no I do not practice enough because it always looks like shit lol. I think I'll follow your example and just stop dissing my own art and get better despite how my biggest critic feels, which is myself. Great job and keep it up!

Awesome and very inspirational to folks like me who want to pick their drawing back up as a hobby, yet feel discouraged at their beginner attempts to get started again. I tend to be very hard on myself and I love the fact that you have overcome that voice in your head telling you "it's not good enough" and have shared your journey with us. I think your drawings are terrific and your commitment to daily drawing and fearlessness in sharing really helps people like me to keep going, despite our disappointment in our own skills. Thank you for your videos!

THIS FREAKING CHANGED ME THANK YOU SO MUCH. I'm a self taught artist as of the last six months XD I have noticed personally how crazy it is that I can actually sort of draw stuff now even though I haven't been doing it that long...practicing helps so much more than I thought it would. But it's hard when everyone's been doing this stuff since they were a kid and took all the art classes in high school...I wanted to be that art kid SO BAD but I never thought that having drive and passion was enough without technical skills. Now, I am realizing that you can achieve anything you want to, ESPECIALLY if passion is already under your belt, but I still get stage fright even when I'm alone and tell myself I'm not good enough. So thank you for this. You are showing people that change is possible, and it's possible NOW. Yeah it's not an instant fix but with hard work look how far you came in a year!! You are a beautiful soul, thank you a billion. You've touched someone else through your video, so I would say that means you're successful. (:

I've actually decided recently to dive full on into it, and turn my passion hopefully into a job, which is where I find your videos extremely helpful. I'm learning all sorts of helpful tips and I can completely agree with the not feeling good enough side! Watching your videos and feeling just how passionate you are about it all really kicks that passionate fire in me too and I just wanted to thank you :)

I used to draw so much in middle school, and it was less and less throughout high school, and then after graduation it was barely existent. I just got back into drawing when I realized I wanted to be a Graphic Designer. It's almost like starting over from the beginning, remembering all the tips and tricks I used to know. What a lovely inspiring video. Thank you for sharing your journey. I think a lot of us are our own toughest critics. We judge our work harshly and see the faults before the successes. It is comforting to know that we are not alone and the message about not giving up is one most of us can't hear often enough. You should be very proud of yourself - arting everyday and pushing through doubts is tough and you did it and you also make me feel like I can do it too. Thank you again.

Aww thank you :) I've said it in a couple other comments already, but honestly, it's comments like yours that inspire me to continue and push myself. Not only are we as artists our toughest critics but we also get told by many others that art is a waste of time. And this is totally wrong! I hope to teach this to a younger generation that art is a beautiful thing even with all of its challenges. If I can do it, you can also :)
