Alice Cooper is the nicest guy you can imagine. He even is a Christian. When he is asked about his faith he speaks openly about it. His father was a pastor and a missionary and his wife's father was a pastor, too.
Journalists and Christians used to demonize him all the time. He's talking about himself in this song.
You really should try a live video. His shows are a mixture of horror, comedy and vaudeville theatre. I've seen him in 2013. It was a great experience.

Written by Michael Bruce, the band's rhythm guitarist, who wrote or co-wrote most of Alice Cooper's earliest and best songs. Harri, the Rolling Stones riff you're reminded of is from "All Down The Line" from Exile on Main Street. Exile was rleased in May 1972. This song was recorded by Alice Cooper in August 1972 - January 1973. You can draw your own conclusions. Thanks Domp Stomp and Harri.

Released in 1973 from the album Billion Dollar Baby". Alice wrote this song to let people who were upset by his performances know that he was going to do his own thing. His mother's church friends were upset by Alice. Great tune and great vocals. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Dump Stump. 🎄🎄🎅🎅☃️☃️ Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

This sums up the meaning of the song. "Cooper wrote the song lyrics about the reactions of his mother's church group about Cooper's stage performances and the characters he played onstage. It was him saying that there was worse stuff that he could do in his life and that the "gloves were off now."

I sold my text books at mid-terms on a Thursday to go see Alice Ccoper the first time. It was from the Welcome to My Nightmare & From the Inside era. Enjoyed the show immensely and learned way more than I would have on any Friday in college. Played backgammon for money all weekend and was able to buy my textbooks back Monday morning for 3x what I sold them for. Never missed a class. Have seen Alice 15-16 times since then!
You seem interested but hesitant, Hari 😂 Don’t be afraid. Many good times to be had in the Alice catalog.

This has a very distinct mid 60s "Beatles" sound to it. I could easily hear John Lennon's voice in this song. Because of the creepy concerts he had in the early 70s, people think he is that guy "Alice Cooper" his alter ego. He is the farthest thing from it. He is a Good Christian man who Loves Jesus Christ, and is well liked by all. He used to live in the same Neighborhood in Phoenix AZ. with Glenn Campbell, and the King of Horror Vincent Price, and they all played Golf together. He wasn't always following Christ, but he always was a believer, and finally made Christ the Lord of his life, and not just his Savior. I think his (Alice Cooper's) real name is "Vincent" something as well.
    Thank you Harri
