Great choices Bill. What do you think of the Vacheron Constantin Fiftysix (date only) movement? As it is not in-house, I think is shared with Cartier. Thanks and love you content.
Great video Bill. I really enjoy these great watch, great movement for a great price videos. All of the watches shown seem to be good value watches for not too much money. Over time I've really started to warm up to the numerals on the Hermes watches. The Ralph Lauren watches are a little too big for me, 43 seems to be my upper limit. I'm a big fan of Chaumet, but I have a rule of only one patent leather strap watch in my collection. The Van Cleef and Arpel, and the Jaeger-LeCoultre both have very interesting complications. Best regards, Brian
Awesome video Neighbor, so many choices, you really opened my eyes, considering so called fashion watches… Hermes, Chaumet, Ralph Loren….Some serious horology. That JLC is steal… Take care!!!
nkuwan You are so well-informed about luxury watches. You've obviously done your due diligence and the comparison to the US is very informative...because of course, I live in New York. thank you very much
Ralph Lauren makes some incredible watches, just wish they would tone down their branding a bit. They often have very large logos plastered on their dials.
The modularity of the calibre 39 (on which the caliber 3903a in the '48 Legacy is based) is a versatile one! 88 different movements can be derived from the '39, Mr. B. Take care, Bill
ccan you recommended a source for the different movements that lists them with in the manufacturer and how you would rate them against each other comparing them relative to each other
As a hand date lover I'm eyeing that arceau grande lune. If only it had a rose gold case which goes perfectly with that dial. ETA is still top notch, a little above Sellita imo.
Both Hermes watches are definitely great value for money on the secondary market. Love that Van Cleef & Arpels. Thanks Bill for the great video. Did you hear about the news from Richmond? Van Cleef & Arpel ceo is now the ceo of Richmond.
Wow Abdul! Now that is news. Agenhor and VC&A have had a close relationship, and I wonder if more business from their stable of brands will be visiting Agenhor for special movements or will they try and gear up ValFleurier? Take care, Bill
I concede and agree that all are good buys. In May 2024, I am seeing a lot more good buys recently. The market has definitely come off the highs during the COVID years.
I cannot see myself choosing a watch based on its discounted price. I choose them on robustness, reliability, accuracy, and readability. It is first and foremost- at least to me- a to me piece. These filters remove most of the watches here. Second set of criteria is the jewelry look, it is after all bling, and thirdly is the price. This list has my filters reversed. M everyday watch is a Hamilton Khaki… guess I’m not too sophisticated….
Your ability to find gems is unmatched.
Agreed
Steve, it's just using Google to search for movements and brands. Take care, Bill
As always, excellent choices Dr.!
Very interesting - never tuned in before and wow. Some great watches. Thanks

That is true, but these two watches don't seem too "over-branded" HRM. Take care, Bill
Have both the Slim d'Hermes and an earlier version of the Hermes Arceau. Got both second hand and very happy with them particularly the slim.
Thanks for sharing Talk! Sounds like you have been way ahead of the trends! Take care, Bill
Hermès still not being recognized as a serious watch brand is great for us, Bill. Let's keep it a secret!
Mum's the word, Gasparm.🤫 Take care, Bill
Agreed
Gosh that Hermes is quite something. Thanks as always for the first rate content.
Glad you like them, AJB! Take care, Bill
Hey Bill, JLC is the value pic but Slim d’Hermes speaks to me every time I see it. The heart wants what it wants! Regards, Ed
Ed, Vaucher movements are equivalent to JLC. Take care, Bill
What do you think of the Eterna 1948 Legacy Manufacture watch?

Right now Philip, your best source is WatchBase dot com. Take care, Bill

Where did you find that JLC deal?
eBay
