    I want Sonic to be covered so we can compare Sonic’s side Smash to all of the other hitboxes In ultimate

      Yeah I'd love to see Sonic's hitboxes, because I wanna see the range of Homing Attack & why Spin Dash has 2 hitboxes, depending on how much the move was charged by.

      @@oreogod3943 The hitboxes of Up-Air are fine. In fact, the recent buffs to Sonic Up-Air actually allow the hitboxes of multi-hit 2 to surpass their Sm4sh counterpart in just how large they are. The issue is that the knockback of both multi-hits were reduced, so Up-Air shouldn't kill as early, whilst becoming a better combo tool in neutral. The issue lies in how Up-Air multi-hit 1 also received knockback decreases & because that multi-hit is fixed in knockback & doesn't scale with rage, opponents % ext. Up-Air becomes heavily more inconsistent to land & required consistent micro spacing in some mu's on smaller fighters, in-order to land consistently.
      In-fact, Up-Air when used as a Short-Hop Aerial actually possesses lower fixed knockback on the 1st Multi-hit when compared to the standard Up-Air, because Short-Hop Aerials universialy deal 0.85% of the standard Aerial damage & of course, less damage can sometimes result in less knockback, which applies to Sonic Up-Air.
      Basically the move was altered to be mad dysfunctional & well, we Sonic mains possess a love, hate relationship with the move for a reason lol & don't get me started on Spin Charge.

      @@SussyBaka_irl I mean Up Air's not that bad, especially now.
      Even pre patch it was really heavily underrated by people, it's not always the most effective as a landing aerial (especially on small characters,) but it probably wasn't intended to be and most of the other inconsistencies pre patch came from people trying to land it in a combo out of a spin dash jump since Sonic would travel too quickly for the second hitbox to connect.

    I think Explosive Flame distance depends whether it's a smash/tilt input and not whether you hold the B button. An interesting thing that makes Autoreticle good is the fact that the rehit rate is too fast to beat with lingering aerials which is usually an important counterplay vs projectiles like that.

    To be honest, I was disappointed with Palutena in Smash 4 since she was probably the character I was most hyped for due to Kid Icarus Uprising so I'm actually pretty OK with how much of a buff she got in this game!
    Doesn't mean I don't find her annoying at times though.

    You forgot something about Palutena: Most of her moves does extra shield damage, most notable F-Air, B-Air, Dash and specially Palutena's N-air (+9 damage on shield, so 2 unstaled N-Airs can basically cause a shield break. Good thing the move is never fresh).

      @@StarmenRock And even without considering it Palutena's N-air is disgusting. You would think shield should at least force palutena to reset neutral, but considering that move devours half of your shield. In Smash 4 the move was so unsafe on shield that didn't matter that extra damage, but now it's safe enough to be used as a shield pressure tool when spaced properly. No wonder why it's considered a top 10 move in ultimate.

    im surprised you never talk about the amount of active frames a counter has since they vary between fighters. Palutena is up there in the fighters with the longest counters in the game.

    I'd love to see you cover Ryu or Ken, they have such a plethora of attacks that can be accessed at almost any time, from taps and holds, to proximity attacks to even standard and normal inputs. It'd be really fun to see as UltimateFrameData doesn't seem to cover every move in their repertoire.

    Nuetral aerial can be counter by Bowser Juniors up special, the Koopa Clown Car has two unreflectable hitboxes, first one being the actual clown car with the second one being the explosion. So there is literally nothing you can do against the clown car, you are getting hit no matter what you do. Actually, most of her moves can be countered by nearly all of his attacks when he can have the advantage. So, she is basically at Juniors mercy when she tries to play against him like she would any other character, and I think that goes for every character goes against him. They HAVE to play differently since he is such a different character.

    Palutena's gimmick in Smash 4 seems to be the fact that she has 12 canonical specials, each different so that players could learn the new custom moves mechanic
    I kind of wish they could bring it back in Ultimate, they just wouldn't be as ridiculous

    I love that her up smash can 2 frame at the ledge because the hitbox reaches a bit below her, also her side and down smash having a wind box is funny when used at ledge to push somebody trying to reach ledge to miss it entirely

    I've been wanting you to cover Marth for a while but I do know that there isn't much to be excited about it. That being said I do think you'd do a great job covering some of his great tipper hitboxes mixed with his absolutely terrible ones. Maybe you could do a video that demonstrates only a few moves for certain characters instead of their whole moveset.
    If you find this interesting to do, for Marth I would suggest this.
    Good tippers:
    - Ftilt, Uair, Neutral B
    Bad tippers (or just plain bad hitbox in general):
    - Fsmash, final hit of his side B (forward & up), and also his god awful dash attack which is the worst dash attack in the game.

    Palutena side b distance isnt based on how long you hold it down, its like Samus missiles where you have tilt input and smash input, smash input does long range and tilt does short range.

    Awesome video! By the way @ 9:08 that’s not actually how side b works, it’s not how long you press b that changes it
    Far side b is inputted with the left stick and B at the same time, and the short side b is if you’re already holding forward on the left stick when you press B (like a smash and tilt input)

    For an accurate view of hitbox interpolation in the future I would recommend using blujays ingame hitbox visualizer mod that came out a few days ago

      It's not dangerous or risky though!
      At the very start of the Switch modding scene, it was only a possibility due to the fact that error reports were being logged and sent to Nintendo. They are now redirected to the SD card. Nintendo does not ban for just modding as long as you don't use it to do dangerous things like piracy or cheating.

    hey by the way, explosive flame’s distance doesn’t change from button timing but rather smash input. you get the longer version from smash input and the short one with regular side b input.

    Shulk's hitboxes in Ultimate compared to Smash 4. I know Shulk is much better in Ult but I feel like his hitboxes are the size of the universe in this game and a lot of the blindspots were fixed.

    As someone who played Palutena in Smash 4, I can tell she always had the potential to be great but in that game her moves basically didn't work or had almost incomplete frame data. In the previous game the invincibility in dash attack and back air was actually better, since the upper body invincibility lasted the entire duration of the active frames, rather than it being just the arms.

      @@KaitouKaiju melee has 26 characters. I grew up playing it. I've adapted to the brokenness of it's design and I enjoy the game for what it is. Ice climbers may be the worst thing about melee....but palutena and characters with insanely high odds against the remaining cast....I'd say my "opinion" hasn't been swayed by your attempt to change my mind about why I prefer melee over trashtimate. Melee rewards skill....ultimate rewards your character choice. P.s. Melee doesn't have things like witch time and Limit breakers....I feel as though it's a more fair game in the competitive aspect.

    As one of my favorite characters it was really discouraging hearing how negative you were in the beginning of this video, however I also wished you had more to say about the Up B in comparison to other teleport/warp type recoveries, because it is so janky. It feels like it doesnt actually warp her but more just moves her really quickly, making it to where it cant go through things like Exeggutor and if you try to recover from slightly under the stage, it can sometimes send you rocketing off to the side instead of just up like you inputted.

    I'm glad that Palu gets her time in the sun in Ultimate since in S4 she got screwed by being the intro to custom moves...they really did overcompensate, though
