That was so good it was painful to watch. I'm not even a drummer. Excellent and so relaxed. I would love to see you do a video on what your approach would be if you were playing on a salsa track with no other perc. One about merengue would be great also.
@JazzNaySean Not at the moment no, as this song belongs to my band, but on our site (schoolofmusiconline) there'll be some new backing tracks in a week or two, and one of them is similar to this.
@Crazyegg1234 Yes, I would start by combining the clave with each of the main timbale & bells patterns with the right hand separately (cascara, montuno bell, campana bell patterns) - first time son clave, second time rumba clave. Then add the bass drum tumbao to each. After that I would start covering some rhythmic permutations with the left hand (see my "Drum Lesson - Jazz Co-ordination Basics" video to get what I'm talking about - it's the same idea).
@doctorsonido Hi! Thanks for your interest. This song is from a salsa band I play with called Chukale (see chukale dot com). We are recording an album and this track will be on there.
I really appreciate your touch and feel in your playing. While I was listening I couldn't help but notice that wonderful tone you get out the crash cymbal closest to your hats. What is that crash?
donde puedo conseguir ese backin track? o donde puedo conseguir backing tracks cubanos y latinos mas o menos asi, para practicar en mi bateria... excelente interpretacion....

@JazzNaySean At the moment the backing tracks are not on the website. In a week or two they'll be up on the site and very easy to find.

I've seen all ur videos and you're an amazing drummer for latin music. You're pretty much like Horacio Hernandez.
The only thing, get better tracks!!!
