For example effective juggling exercises to improve your first touch would be: one touch low one touch high juggling, juggling with your inside of your foot, kick the ball high and try to bring the ball down with your laces/inside of your foot. You can variate the last execirse by taking a directional first touch. But all these exercises are just training a piece of your first touch skills. As i said a wall or something where the ball can come to your like a pass would be more efficient
Notice how every time he plays or receives a pass he looks to his left. Muscle memory for reading plays and knowing where team mates are. Little things that makes him good. Is he still playing professionally?

Juggling may not be something you do much in a game but it does a world of good, trust me.
