The part where he says that there is nothing past or present that he would put in front on Sam is when the water works start for me 😭

Agreed_. Sam regrets making a bad decision and Dean regrets coming down on him like a ton of bricks I think. Sam thinks he hasn’t made up for any mistakes he made and and doesn’t think he can but hopes this will finally do that and make his brother proud. Dean realizes how bad the words he said and regret that he said to Sam. He’s about to have to swallow them and they are gonna hurt going down realizing the toll it took on his brother.
Sam: You want to know what I confessed in there? What my greatest sin was? It was how many times I let you down, I can't do that again.
This gets me every time too.
Their bond is so strong. Beautiful

This is the worst part for me. I know what it feels like thinking you're better off dead (for you and for other people), so that in front of the possibility of dying you're not scared or surprised, you're just tired and dont find a reason good enough to keep living.
I wanted to hug Sam in that moment. Really sorry for the very bad place he was in in that moment.
good acting both of them. crying all my tears every damn time i rewatch, even after so many years have passed since this ep was first aired.

The sad thing is... when Dean says that's not true, he's totally lying. The first thing he does is go to an angel he doesn't know and trusts him over Sammy's own judgement. While it's true Dean puts Sam before everything else, that includes Sam's own well being and mental health, and that's not always a good thing.
These two are, absolutely, both the best and the worst thing to happen to one other.
Dean breaks himself for Sam. And Sam breaks because of Dean. It’s always been like that. A vicious, destructive cycle that somehow manages to be both tragically beautiful.....and toxic as all hell.
They could never give each other up. And they deserve to live in a world where their bond isn’t a weapon.
But man, they really would be so much better off without one another sometimes in this world.
I know that Sam wouldn’t have released Dean if they could have sat down and had a conversation about the demon blood early on. But instead he shuts Sam down, Dean doesn’t allow Sam to make his own decisions and when Sam makes a mistake he holds it over him for a long time

Yep. It ends up absolutely crushing Sam and takes a toll. He feels he can never make up for it. I think Dean has this realization of “ Oh I’m about to have to swallow these stupid words I said and their gonna hurt going down”

Sam worrying about Dean not trusting him ever again is the same with me and my brother he tends to get upset with me and I’m worried that he’ll never give me the benefit of the doubt

In my opinion the greatest season finale in the series, you can tell that there was script rewrites after the show got renewed, but man they changed the story in a good way that didn’t feel forced, and it was a decent twist that metatron was the next big baddy, and the imagery of the angels falling beautiful plus they followed up the season finale with a good first episode, which s14 finale os also great however they botched it with the first 3 episodes of s15
and for what. AND FOR WHAT
This is the moment where I started hating dean, he sacrificied everyone for Sam and he is one of the only people who has the knowledge and help to bring Sammy back even after he dies
Just curious but why hate him for this? He's literally doing exactly what he's been told his whole life to do and that is to protect Sam at all cost. He shouldn't have tricked Sam, but everything before and after this has proven that he will do anything to save Sam, even lie to him. Also Sam has lied to Dean when he thought it would save him. I'm not picking one over the other. They both have made choices to save the other when they had given up.
@@marymartindale884well he did save Sam but screwed everyone else in the process. And he knows he can resurrect Sam. And even if he couldn't that still doesn't make it right. In later seasons Sam becomes Dean's slave, he doesn't question him anymore and they don't fight with each other, because whatever Dean says, goes. Some weird stockholm syndrome
