I like this one better than the prior install. I love when the large light kit can be installed with the appropriate height below for it. Instead of being oversized for the room.
Are the blades mdf or plywood? I always assumed plywood just not with a veneer finish since it was one of there higher end models. Any idea on the OEM.. king of fans?
The double low looks really good on that fan. It's too bad the department of energy went wild with the fan regulations. I was reading that infinitely variable controls on the new DC motors might be a loophole around the low speed/energy performance standards. Im curious to see the speed range on the new dc motor 5 speed models. The Panama on my patio started clicking/rattling and I couldn't figure it out. I thought it was from dust getting into the motor (considering it's not outdoor rated)... turned out that the blade to iron screws loosened themselves and were making noise. If it happens again I may use a bit of blue loctite on the screw threads to keep them from backing out. Are you still considering a dual install setup? Looking forward to seeing your hallway install.
I think the regulations are stupid, but I have no interest in 99% of the ceiling fans made today anyways. I'm more bothered by the regulations on things like light bulbs which I actually need to buy from time to time. I would consider lock washers before glue. I would be thrilled to have a triple install in there, but that will probably need to wait until I refinish the ceiling, which is a long way out of budget right now. I was hoping I'd be able to snake wires through the top of the ceiling, but there's not anywhere near as much space up there as I expected.

I agree, these lights are a bit much on an 8' ceiling.

I'm not really sure on either. I believe there is a way to trace the UL number to determine the OEM.

Why do you emphasize the word Fan so hard? Fan only has One SYLLABLE NOT FEAN…. or FIAN
Sometimes he says ff-fffffff-ffff-ffffffffeaaaaaaaannn
Because that's what I wanted to do.
